Prime is definitely the best transformers series I have seen so far. RID was pretty good too, but I only watched it because it included some of my favorite characters from Prime. I also didn't like how most of the decepticons were based on earth animals when they're freaking ALIENS.
Back when they were actually fighting to the death unlike robots in disguise where they are just "arresting" them and putting them in those freeze capsules
RID is basically TFP'S continuation. That explains why in the first episode you can see optimus is dead. And when Soundwave manages to excape the shadow dimention.
They also do reference the show a lot with the old autobot base appearing plus the episode Soundwave appears, Bumblebee asks himself “how did Jack, Miko and Ralph get out of the shadow realm”. Also starscream explains how he survived the predacons from the end of the series and they used his TFP design for the flashback
This reminds me of Ratchet, “Soundwave is no normal Cybertronian, from the inside as well as outside.” (I watched it in my language so idk if I translated it right, but that's what he said when Autobots captured Soundwave in S3)

RID: A few inexperienced lack luster deceticons( except steeljaw). Basically a watered down children show of prime Transformers Prime: Actually Strong and fearsome deceptions. A true menacing force a good challenge to the autobots( like you cannot lie, whenever you saw megaton in the first episodes, you had fear. Also when soundwave and shockwave fought, you genuinely thought the AutoBots would insta lose until weeljack showed up)
I mean tfp decepticons were more or less high ranking members of the decepticons, megatron is the leader of them, soundwave, shockwave and starscream are part of the high command,airachnid is a skilled assasin, skyquake, dreadwing and breakdown are highly skilled soldiers and knockout is awesome. In rid there were hardly any real decepticons by real I mean decepticons who actually joined the war since the beginning, the decepticons in rid were criminals who by the autobot council were branded as decepticons automatically due to their crimes, besides cyclonus and his team, overload and that decepticon on the island there were hardly any real decepticons

If we are talking designed wise then RID i like how some of them are animalistic. If animation then its Prime as it is perfect. Since this is for Decepticons then its prime as those guys are badass and are part of an military organization as for the Decepticons for RID they are just thugs and criminals mostly joined just to gain benefits or to cause chaos.
Its a little weird that they still turn into vehicles but it works out for the most part, I guess you can just think of them as being slightly deformed cause of Shockwave. Definitely more goofy than menacing though, kind of like the Beast Wars predacons also being a bunch of chaotic goons.
