Totally agree and I just discovered it in the past couple of years after listening to them for 30. There were just some songs I wasn’t ready for at the time.
Another reason why Tool is the GOAT: Context first. Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned is about someone tripping on LSD. He claims he saw aliens (very common experience, that or God) and they warned him about how they were going to take over. They said to spread the message but he ended up forgetting what the told him. Here's the cool part: On Lateralus, the last song Faaip De Oiad IS that guy, and his freakout is the message he forgot. it's a hidden part of the song, AND if you layer Faaip De Oiad on top of Lost Keys, it matches up perfectly. The guitar from LK, and the Drums from FDO complete it, and FDO ends exactly then the doctors start talking. The freakout is actually a REAL recording of someone calling into a radio station. You can find it on UA-cam. This is not the only time Tool played around with laying songs like this. Side thing, if you loop Lateralus, FDO loops back into The Grudge as well.
LSD is a strange drug. You are only able to process about 10,000th of the visual, audio, and scent information around you. Our senses are just too limited. LSD doesn't expand the information your brain receives in any way, but it does allow you to process the information through paths it would normally separate. Sometimes, a deeper understanding of that information is possible when processed in a new way without the filters your brain builds up in those senses over time. Sometimes you just make up dumb shit. Either way it's cool we can fuck with our brains in this way.
An absolutely legendary album, IMO. I think it fits the perfect balance between earlier "angry Maynard" Tool and the more introspective vibes the band adopted later on, and the result is 🤌
You know, I've never seen someone dance or move to rock the way that you do. Much less to Tool. I don't say that in a negative way either. This is literally the best way to see how differently people feel the music within themselves. I really dig it and respect your open mind well....should i say your open third eye 😊 keep it up buddy.
Wings/10,000 days is about Maynard's (lead singer) mother who was paralyzed for 30 years (Which roughly adds up to 10,000 days) Once you finish tool you should check out his other band "A Perfect Circle"
Tool has a way of stretching you to almost boredom on some songs, but then they always change it up at the perfect time. Wait until you get into the Fear Innoculum album…all masterpieces.
Hey man, heard you in the video say "I don't want to disappoint you guys" and I just wanted to say, just be you man. If you like something, awesome, and if you don't that is also awesome. You do not need to work to please us my guy, everyone has stuff they just don't care for. So, be true to you my guy, you have a great personality and that matters more than anything else on youtube. Keep that hustle goin.
Bro. You are the fucking GOAT. For reals. You just hit us with a BANGER after BANGER after fuckinnnnn BANGERRRRRRR! I got 2 hours till i go back to work. Im stoked!
I gotta give props on your ability to catch the actual groove of each song along this Tool journey, took me multiple listens to even match Yes, I am white
FUN FACT (in case anyone hasnt yet): There is a secret track on this album. If you put together Viginti Tres and wings, and play 10,000 days at the same time it lines up perfectly. You can look up the song, as its 'official' title is Voltron.
“Damn My Eyes! Damn My Eyes! Damn my eyes, if they should compromise the fulcrum. Wants and needs divide me then I might as well be gone.” Then I smile because I know what comes next is filthy. You don’t even have a chance! They are the greatest.
I thought I would add this because I never looked it up before. 39:51. Shit I can’t add a pic. But I researched Cozened /Indigo meanings. Now it makes more sense lol
I know this isn't TOOL related or anything but definitely check out the Get Some album by Snot. All of the songs on the album are bangers and the drummer is crazy !!!! also loved your reaction on Opiate !! much love homie keep up the good videos :)
When you finish the next album and don't want it to end, you could do Salival. It's a live album, but they have a couple cover songs that are pretty good and a remake of Pushit that a lot of people like.
A couple comments: Lost Keys and Rosetta Stoned go together. He mentions “deadhead chemistry” aka lsd, and it’s about aliens abducting the person to give him a message to save the earth, “but he forgot a fucking pen to write it down..” In all, this album seems to be Maynard’s acceptance of God, whom his mother worshipped, literally.
you're probably flooded with recommendations but when u find time check out Coal Chamber's self titled album its an entertaining listen with simple but grooovy riffs
Excited to see you jump around to the Superbuick album by Mushroomhead! Bwomp is nuts! Slipknot fans and Mushroomhead fans in the past had a feud with each other, because the bands seem similar.
So hyped 🔥 You should definitely react to A Perfect Circle once you're done with Tool (Maynard's second band). 36 Crazyfists, Taproot, and Mudvayne are fire too.
Your reaction to the beginning of the pot i repeated 10x 😂, the talk box section of jambi i was surprised had little reaction but u grooved throughout and thats not easy man, commendable groovin
I've been trying to think of something to say about the album... but... this coffee is pretty good, I'm glad you have been enjoying this endeavor. ☕️🐝🇺🇸
I hope you listen to Tool on your own time too. They get even better as they become familiar. I'd watch you react again in a year or so, maybe you could drum along if you work at that kit. Great reaction as always bro. Do Lamb of god, you'd like the drums.
you should def check System of a Down’s live performance AT HURRICANE FESTIVAL 2005 it is awesome! Also there singles like genocidal humanoidz, protect the land! And there cover songs metro, snowblind, and shame!
The Pot and Vicarious are def my favorite songs and The Pot is probably my favorite song by them ever. And I will say react to the guilty gear strive soundtrack once again🙏
I know you still got fear inoculum to do, but paranoid by black sabbath is prob the next album you should try. Planet Caravan is the most beautiful song EVER
Its definitely my favorite album from Tool. While Lateralus is unbiasly their most complete album (such a stacked album for sure) but I feel Tool went to a whole 'nother level with 10,000 Days. Every song is such an absolute all time song in Metal history, especially Right in Two which I feel is Tools Magnus Opus song.
@@yourfavoritedxrkskinthere is a drum cam of Pneuma which you’ll be introduced to next in Fear Innoculum. I suggest waiting until after you listen to the studio version for the live version but it will blow your mind as an aspiring drummer.

Tool put more effort into single songs than other musical acts put into entire albums. Amazing stuff

Very small correction: the person in the song tripped on DMT not LSD.

@@chubismaximus I thought it was LSD cause he says "after calming down with orange slices" and that's a common LSD treatment, right?
