This is absolutely brilliant,Luise. I can hear the excitement in your voice,it’s for sure a game changer. I’m new to your channel, I’m binge watching every video….
This is a very smart idea! I am very sick in bed with COVID, almost no energy, but still in the middle of your video, I got up to get some watercolor paper and my Tim Holtz stencils, and I’m already cutting the tags. This happens to me a lot with your videos. I find you so inspiring! 💜💜💜
I LOVE having swatches to help me decide what supplies to use. I haven't swatched my stencils, because I haven't decided on a format I like. This is definitely something to consider. Also. I have SO many stencils that swatching them would be a huge project
You know the old saying, "Inch by inch, everythings a cinch". When you are creating, just do about five of your stencil swatches and before you know it, you are done! Good luck!
LUISE, this is a great system for storing AND visualizing some of the options you have in combining your various mediums! AND the swatch cards are themselves very decorative! I love how you can also see the color changes of the same oxyde ink depending on substrate - with the color you used (ground expresso) the variation is very apparent and big (from dark brown to goldish brown to a purple grey!!). One thought I had is to try scanning and printing (onto watercolor paper) the stenciled tags, as a base layer ? Of course, doing this with each color we own is a massive / large project!! But in the end it would lead us - it seems to me - to using the mediums more effectively since we can visualize and anticipate results more accurately, therefore reducing waste! It may also make it easier to - Actually Use - colors we don't use so often because we are not as familiar with their results on different substrates ! What you are creating there with these swatches in my view is an actual commercial product in itself!! I know of books dedicated to swatches (usually for color mixes with formulas or 'recipes') to achieve the desired results!! In any case, I DO agree that these are a source of inspiration!!! Brilliant work as usual!!
Agreed. I could see Ranger/Tim Holtz putting this out. You might approach Ranger? Who knows you might make a $/mark? Out of the deal. Miranda DeM gets a free copy🙌🎉😁
@@denisehampton3102 I thought of this as well 😀, especially since given Luise's recent 'mummy' experience with Tm Holtz 😂 we now know they DO license works from third parties...
@@luiseheinzl dear Luise, I'm 68 years old and retired. I'm saying this to tell you that in my previous (working life) I lived in Silicon Valley (high tech region of California) - I was a product design manager, marketing director and later a director of international sales and business development for several parts of the world. So altho I was in a very different industry, mine and Denise's ideas could possibly work ( licensing it to Ranger). It's clear that Ranger is making a big investment in expanding their product lines, especially those associated with the Tim Holtz brand...In some of the products they have quite a bit of competition , and although they have been expanding their colors of oxydes for instance, they need to make it easier and more understandable for people to actually USE the products (and so buy more). I am saying this to you because you have an unusual talent - you are an inventive and innovative person. And you need more income 😘, so if you can turn some of the tools you develop for yourself as additional income for you - that's a good thing! Just consider these facts as you create.
Hi Luise: You have a brilliant mind! Really love your thinking! Your explanations and demonstrations make so much sense. BTW, you have really cool stencils. Thank you for sharing your time and creativity. 💜😎🇺🇸
This. Is. BRILLIANT. STELLAR. VERSATILE. ARTFUL. ENGAGING. CREATIVE. INVALUABLE. And on and on and......... wow and wow again!!!!! Game changing........ thank you as ever!!!!!! ✴️✴️✴️🦋✴️
I love the idea of swatching your stencils. It definitely helps to see the differences in technique. I find it fascinating that you are so fluent in English, but sometimes have a bit of trouble finding the correct English word. When you dropped a German word I got tickled. ❤😂
I guess it's mainly because I'm recording in English and in German directly after each other. My brain sometimes doesn't know which language I wanna speak lol
What a brilliant idea. I wonder why none of us have created these simple yet very complex swatches. There is so much creative knowledge in each one of these tags and I’m itching to make my own set now. Thanks Luise. 🤗🇨🇦🤗 Liz
Brilliant Luise, a wealth of information on each tag! Perfect for those times that we don’t feel inspired, just take out the ring and look at your swatches, boom, inspiration! 💕🇨🇦
Brilliant Louisa. The colour changes in the ink are surprising and definitely inspiring. You could make a stencil master board as well and cut it up for even more surprises.
Miss Luise... Thx 🙏 for sharing... Great idea's & inspiring... Giggles as well... You're a wondrous Soul & inspired by the love of beauty... BTW... I use those same rings to store & organize my Stencils... Only mine are blk.... 💝🤙📌🎶... Sincerely sincere... Miss Judith 🌹
Wonderful idea! The benefit of creating personal swatches based on how you use your mediums and products so you can really see what you can create before committing is so nice 🤩 I don't know how many times I struggle to reproduce effects I see others do. This technique will allow one to embrace their personal style in a really lovely way. It also takes away some of the fear of "ruining" precious supplies while creating a beautiful, functional, tactile, personal piece of one's creative self. TFS Luise 🥰🥰
This is so brilliant and your excitement about this idea is totally spilling over. All the beautiful things that happened that you couldn't even foresee. I am glad in a way I only so far have 2 Tim Holtz stencils and a few others I absolutely now make some swatches. They look so gorgeous and inspirational. Thank you for sharing this brilliant idea!🥰
wow! Luise, what a great idea, for so many reasons. This is one of those project ideas that ends up being so much more than the sum of its parts. Genius! Thank you for sharing. You are right. This is, indeed, a game changer x
Absolutely brilliant! I just made a small swatch ring for all my circle punches & eyelet sizes. I cut out the circle sizes on one swatch & attached the cut circles on another swatch with painters tape, noting details like size & color of punch corresponding to each cutout, correct cropodile settings for each eyelet, etc. It hangs next to my desk & it's been an absolute game changer. I am now eager to create stencil & stamp swatches like yours... it will be an incredible relevant tool during the creative process. Thank you so much for sharing 😊
Thank you sooo much for sharing this! I LOVE your Joy & Enthusiasm for the creative process and love the opportunity to feel it right along with you. 💞
Luise, you’re a genius in the art world, and now you’ve just bumped it up to another level with such an amazing idea! Now I won’t waste any medium or money on my projects, and I love that idea because a lot of them are really expensive. I can look at my swatches and know what I want to do or not to do with a die cut, fussy cut or other medium. Thanks so much dear! 💕💕💕
This is a fantastic idea Luise, so useful. My stencils are in a box and I can never find the one I want and then it is a disappointment when it is used so this system is something I would like to put into place. Thanks for sharing your wonderful insight with us all. Cheers from Australia.
I so admire the discipline and precision with which these were executed! This is like the base collection that can be enlarged later on adding more colors/techniques/materials to other cards and placing them on the ring next to what is already there! Love it!
I swatch my watercolors all the time, but it never occurred to me to do it with my Distress Oxide ink pads and texture mediums! This makes sooo music SENSE! Than you for sharing such a useful idea!
I just found you recently and am so impressed with this project. I hope I will find time to sleep in the future because I just want to stay up and watch all of your videos.
I just found this series by you and I am so grateful for your videos. I am encouraged to create my own swatches to see how my tools can be use with my inks and mediums.
I don't have all these products, but just making stencil swatches with the few I have is a great idea. Have TONS of stencils so this will be a great tool for using them more. Thanks so much!
Hi Luise. I am in love with the thiks you are doing. You are amaizng and extreamly creative. I found your chanel resently and my comments are on videos which you made ages ago. I just cant stop wathcing your videos. Thank you! You not only are genius but very inspiring.❤
I am incredibly excited about this idea. I hope to implement it right away as I find that I am not using any of my stencils very often. Like you stated early in your video, I get very overwhelmed when I pull them out. My mind goes all over the place with ideas and I can’t seem to settle on one. I feel certain this will help me. Thank you so much for sharing the idea! God bless you!
Brilliant! I have not seen anyone do these swatches with all of the mediums on one tag/base. I can totally see how this would be a game changer. I have so many Tim Holtz stencils that I’m afraid it would take me a month to make the swatches. I like the idea of preparing the tags ahead of time. I am looking forward to seeing how you incorporate your swatches in the actual creating process. You are amazing! (still praying…) Hugs from KY.
Wonderful idea! You never disappoint! I love how you encourage us to experiment and explore. It is so Fun to watch you creating and I feel so inspired after watching your videos. Thank you Luise!❤
This is such a great idea! Those swatches were SO surprising...I had no idea that these mediums could be so different! This project has been added to my whiteboard. Thank you!
Super idea with gorgeous results! I love your enthusiasm! It’s inspiring! Would love to see some projects where you use these ideas as you discovered making these tag swatches. TYFS! ❤️🦋💜
Great idea!!!! You are so right this so useful and it’s never a waste of products if you gain so much knowledge. I was thinking the same thing I need more stencils. Now to come up with a way for those stencils that aren’t so easily stored.
How are we not calling you Luise Stenzl after this masterpiece?
🤣🤣🤣 that's so cute!

Get well soon I am struggling with long Covid and I am thankful for this community
Oh... Get well soon!!!
Great video! If you put lotion on your hands first the ink will wash off a lot easier. Just a tip I learned.
GREAT IDEA! So creative! You’re right such a treasure! 🤩🫶🏼
I think it would be a great technique for a master board
