I'm still a beginner with my Cricut Maker. I have watched a lot of videos to help me get started. Yours are, by far, my favorite! They are the most thorough and easy to understand. I can pause them, do what you just did and end up with similar results. Thank you for making these videos easly accessible and SO much fun!

Hi Sarah! Thanks for making the great tutorial! I have a question! I'm new to Cricut and can't seem to find a way to have Cricut make a score line down the middle of a 11" x 8.5" horizontal piece of thick cardstock. I don't need anything cut, just a score line. When I follow your instructions, the preview shows the cardstock slightly off of where I would normally place the cardstock (directly on the upper left corner of the mat). Because I have to guess where to place the cardstock on the mat, my score line is slightly off center. How do I tell Cricut I want to place my cardstock in the upper left corner of the mat and get the result I want?

It can be tricky to get it exactly in the centre when you aren't cutting at the same time. If you were cutting a rectangle with a score line in the middle for example, it would score exactly in the middle because it has the cut lines as a reference point around the edge. I would suggest that you add a rectangle, even if it's just a tiny bit smaller than your cardstock so that that the score line can be done centrally. Alternatively, if you just have a score line, you could move it on the mat preview screen and line it up with specific line on the mat so you know exactly where it's going to score. That's strange that it isn't automatically showing your cardstock in the upper left corner, does it help if you change the paper size? Hope that helps!

Hi Sarah! Thanks for replying! I've given up trying to "score only" using Cricut! I'll just use my cutting board with a score wheel and it only takes seconds. I do appreciate your suggestions!!!

is there a way to make the base card scolloped?

I used a premade card blank but you could make a scalloped one in Design Space by searching "scallop" in the Images search, finding an image you want to use and then "Slice" the scallops off one edge to make it straight, duplicate the shape and flip it, then Weld them both together to make the front and back of your card :)
