Never understood why fans were so mad at shakur in this fight.. this was a technical highspeed chess match.. shakur even knocked Jeremiah nakathila twice (tho the first KD wasn't counted) but shakur never deviated away from the game plan neutralized his opponent after he found out where he lacked.. this is the sweet scientific way to box!!
Because he didn't throw combinations he won easily but people wanted him to put together more combinations and maybe try for stoppage or something

I thought Shakur was so much crisper with his punches....the other guy was off balance most of the time...and no match for Stevenson’s counter punches.....
Definitely didn't fight Santos like this so I'm convinced shak was hurt going in the Santos fight
I doubt, and I'll explain why.
Shakur's trick is controlling distance, in which he can't be reached/touched being out of opponent's range, but once he attack he have to be in range and get opened from throwing.
This means that, in that window opening, opponent can throw at the same time to hit him.
Edwin used distance as well to avoid Shakur's jabs, so no one was landing cuz they both avoided each other.
The only way for each other to land is when both get in range, Edwin was throwing everytime Shakur throws, which made Shakur uncomfortable from letting his hands go more, he can't trade with Edwin cuz Edwin got more power.
This explains the low output, cuz Shakur couldn't let his hands go.
Unlike Floyd, he can fight in the pocket using shoulder roll, while Shakur is too reliant on using distance which has downside as he can't reach opponent as well being out of range.
Our African boxing went backwards. Looking at average American boxer and our champions here is totally not comparable, let alone champions like SS here.

Shakur's main line of defense is getting out of your range, I think he'll perform good in octagon.
To leg kick him, you need him to be in your range, and to wrestle him you have to catch him first, but he'll always be out of your range running backwards while fencing your head.
While legs are longer, it doesn't give you a stable or balanced position when kicking and it'll exhaust you jumping.
Grappling him ain't gonna catch him, grappling takes time even on ground and escape is quite learnable, he'll likely jab their head off before they catch him.
Those guys can't outbox him either and they got no stamina like boxers.
There are fighters who won with lack of grappling and kicking skills, just saying, and they ain't even close to his boxing skills.
