I love when you find drs who care about consent and all the bullshit emotional crap we can go through that goes along with it and vaginal exams! I went about 5 yrs without a pap because I had a panic attack during one and the dr was dismissve and finished the exam and it caused pain which is what set off the panic attack. So I finally got one done a few months ago with a new gyno who was a woman and was an instant mesh, she didnt say sizest crap, she listened, she was gentle and told me at each step what she was doing, checked to see if I was fine and wanted to continue. It is a huge deal to have drs who care like that.

Good luck with the appointment, hope all goes well for you. I had an iud years ago and when it was inserted there was a little bleeding and some period type cramps for a couple of days, I just took some Tylenol and it was manageable . I don't know enough about it really, I'm sure they've changed since then anyway, it was a copper T and I doubt they even use them anymore. I love the water colour set, nice idea to set them up that way. It will be interesting to know if they function well. I wonder about how they would work outside, you'd have to have something to set them up on if you were using colours from Different levels levels? I hope the specialist report doesn't screw up your benefits. Take care.

I have been on Mirena for about 2 years now and so far I love it! I got it before I was sexually active, so it's my first time being on any kind of birth control so I don't know if it makes any sort of difference. The first six months can be rough, but everyone has different experiences with it. The first 2 weeks for me, had cramps mostly due to the insertion and discharge from the numbing liquid they use. The first six months, I had long periods (3 week long), they were very light though, and very little cramps. Then after that more sporadic, then after a year, I have no periods anymore, but occasional light cramping every month. I check my strings about once a month, sometimes I feel them, sometimes I don't, I think that's because I have a large tummy though XD My libido hasn't changed, I haven't gained weight (i'm already fat though, not gonna stress out over 10 lbs lol), and I do have depression, but it's unrelated to the birth control.
Overall, it's a very low stress form of birth control.
