And yet what happened? He didn’t want to start over in 1999. Because he knows idiots like u look at him like he’s perfect, so coming back after 1998 without Phil and Scottie, was gonna show that he isn’t perfect. He picks up and leaves when the media kicks his ass. Steps away when coach and sidekick don’t wanna come back.

At 8:57 and 11:04 Jordan mentions Rodman’s dresses or hair styles and the media members snicker both times. Notice how MJ doesn’t crack a smile. He wasn’t saying that to be funny. He was trying to point out that he doesn’t care how different his teammate may be off the court because he gives EVERYTHING on the court. Whoever says Jordan isn’t a GREAT teammate doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

I'm sure it wasn't easy at times and even MJ admitted he could be harsh with his teammates but I'm sure Magic, Bird, and other past greats were just as demanding to propel and lead their teams to victory. Anyway, if it was as bad playing with Michael as some people make it out to be, why didn't anyone request a trade away from Chicago because of MJ's behavior towards them?

I appreciate Michael giving credit where credit is due. The media back then and maybe even now easily labels him as a troublemaker and they let that define him. It's great when Dennis' teammates emphasize what a hard worker he actually was.

    • @lamefart
      @lamefart 6 років тому +11

@Jeffrey Michael, A lot. Watch interviews of the Dream Team. You would learn how eloquent those old school players were. They articulate their answers so well and martial their thoughts properly. Unlike somebody we know who'd excuse himself at one interview because "I didn't go to college" as an excuse and many times ridiculed his teammates in interviews.
That intelligence maybe made these players of old the humility and the different mindset in their approach of the game of basketball compared to today's NBA. I don't question their love for the game these days but man it was different back then.

but Jerry Krause didn't he wanted all the recognition and was so anxious to break up that team his ego told him he could build another championship team without Michael, Scottie, and Phil and get the glory. Reinsdorf should have listened to MJ and made Phil the GM/Coach and given them the chance to win until they lost and with the shortened season in 99 because of the lockout if Jordan, Scottie, Phil, and Dennis had been brought back they probably would have won another championship

@damianpresha9833 That’s a complete lie. Pippen was on the Dream team, he was voted top 50. Everyone including MJ says there would be no 6 titles in Chicago without Pippen. MJ called Pippen his greatest teammate, his MVP - literally upon receiving his 5th finals mvp award, he says, "I'm sharing this with Scottie cause he's my mvp". Everyone acknowledges Scotties greatness... Stop it. Do you even pay attention.

This guy is the perfect example of showing what a true champion is about, the hard work and dedication he puts in but MJ had to go through hurdles to make it to the top. In College he won, the pros he won a ton, the respect from fans. Lebron fans will come up with excuses in why he’s suppose to be the GOAT. ❌❌❌- Jordan has the will, the heart and the mentality and killer instinct to lead a team to championships. Lebron will never be better than him- NEVER.

    • @omieg89

Mario Bryant you’re right with everything you said but you know what doesn’t get said enough? Michael Jordan was a GREAT teammate. He never cheated the game or his teammates. He led with a purpose and didn’t micromanage. And he is always authentic. Never acts like a phony when the cameras are on. That’s probably why his teammates had so much respect for him.

Broke my heart when he was forced in to retirement. Can anyone imagine a day when a GM would tell everyone before the season, Kobe's done after this season because phil isn't coming back.
Getting to see this 10 part documentary has been AMAZING! Is it a puff piece? Of course... but that doesn't take away anyting from what Jordan accomplished. Lebron and all these new comers know nothing of what it is to stay in your city, and make it great... now they all hop teams and play for a season and move on. There's no love, there's no passion and there's no defense.

I noticed how he felt like he was representing the city of Chicago. whereas in this era, they dont care about the fans. I thought that was probably one of Jordans best qualities as a player that gets overlooked. Does anybody else feel like that? Im a laker fan - I always felt Kobe share that quality too, like he was down with the city. I miss that in this modern era of nba, where the player felt like "I do this for the city". IMO

MJ literally props up Scottie. At every point.
And Scottie shits on him nowadays. Totally bizarre.
There will never be another MJ

This is how a normal human being was talking back in the 90's. Smart, a little ironic here and there, humble yet confident because he PROVED it time and time again. Complimenting and acknowledging his team, team mates, organization, fans, city and even the other team. And the reporters didn't shy away and asked the tough questions. So different from the leclowns and lemedia of today.

He will say he needed an even better super team than what the Lakers have with AD. Afterall, he did say he would want to play with all the superstars in the NBA. What a moron. Who does he play against if theyre all on his team? A question he never considers.

12:16 MJ says he enjoys being there with reporters. Compare that to Lebron who at the press conference says that he will still be rich and fans still be poor and have problems. How does anyone even stomach Lebron let alone root for him?
