Thanks for posting this Simon. The motor sounds great! I've got a 150hp zuke on the back of my tournament 1900 bluewater and I'm tempted to replace it with one of these for no other reason than for the glorious sound.

You can tell this is not an American vid. There would be 4 motors on the back. Awesome outboard.

Hi Simon! Greetings from Finland! Am i right, 200 G2 evinrude looks a littlebit better fuel consumption than Mercury

Hi yes at in gear idle and at wide open throttle the Etec was certainly better. In saying that at idle the difference in actual fuel volume was small and at WOT the number, although higher (+10%) an engine is normally less frequently run at this level. Everywhere else throughout the rev range fuel consumption was much closer although it does seem to favour the Etec.

Ok, I am thinking to bu new motor for my aluminium workboat, which is 770cm*240 cm and hull weight is 1000 kg . What do you think, what is the best option 150-200 hp motors? G2 is attractive because 500 our maintenance interval. How do you like Mercury 150 4-stroke?

If the budget will cover it Im a big fan of going with the maximum rated power the hull will take. Depending on what the application the boat gets used for would determine what I'd go for. I don't think there are any unreliable motors nowadays so all are options. If you will spend a lot of time idling or trolling then I'd go four-stroke, if the boat is heavily loaded then the etecs are great. Service costs on the four-stroke engines add up compared to the etecs however if you're running big hours annually then the Etec oil costs will even out that equation somewhat The 150 4 stroke Mercs are great (smooth, economical, reliable) although nowhere near as punchy as the 150 small block etecs for hole shot which may or may not be an issue for you depending on what you're doing with the boat. The small block etecs are noticeably quieter than the big block etecs although still louder than the I4 four-stroke engines. Sorry for the long winded response. There are certainky alot of good options out there for people in the market for these engine hp ranges.

Thank for your opinion, lowest price here is suzuki df 150, what do you think, is it better than etec or mercury 4 stroke 150?

@@fishermansfriend6197 yes the 150 suzuki is a great engine. One of the better performing 150 fourstroke engines. Is that the lean burn they are quoting you as that's the one you want as it offers better fuel consumption compared the the non lean burn 150hp engines.
