  • TURN YOUR VOLUME UP! :0) Jocelyn (10) & Abriel (8) decided to join the fight against cancer by teaming up with St. Baldrick's & Lock's 4 Love. They both chose a special person to honor. Jocelyn chose Eric McLean who is in his 6th & 7th battle with AML cancer. Abriel chose a little boy named Jake who passed away a few years ago. Together, along with their cousin Bailey, they teamed up to raise $1190 to donate to cancer research. It was a very emotional journey. I have never seen 2 children so excited, so proud & so humbled to be part of something. To say I am proud of them is an understatement! These girls have a ton of courage! I know they are just kids, but every child I talked to (and every adult) said "I can't believe you are doing this, I couldn't do it!" There were so many people at this event, the turnout was outstanding! There weren't too many little girls with long gorgeous hair lining up to have their heads shaved though.....it was mostly teenagers, boys or adults. I give them a ton of credit! I really do. The neatest part is that they both know how sick these children are. They know what this cause is truly about. They understand that without research there will never be a cure! They know that in order to do research you need money & that is why they wanted to help. They want what everyone wants, to find a cure! Eric McLean has been through hell & back with his fight against cancer! We have been following his story for a while now (www.givetolife.org) & when Jocelyn found out his cancer was back for a 7th time, there was no question about it, she WAS going to join St. Baldrick's to help out in some small way. When Abriel heard her big sister was going to do this, she wanted to be a part of it too, so she joined "The Cancer Crushers"! These 2 brave girls donated there really long blonde hair to Locks 4 Love, and then they went all the way & had their heads shaved completely bald. This video is priceless! Bill Jartz from WBAY news interviews them. He is happy & joking around until Jocelyn begins to explain why she is there. Quickly, his voice goes from joking to humble in a matter of seconds. They exchange only a few words, but you can see it in Bill's face & hear it in his voice what this means to Jocelyn & to Abriel to be doing this. It is very very neat! I knew this experience would be great, but I had no idea the emotions that would overflow in my heart.....
