I know, it's nothing new, I'm just filming it now because each school holidays I film one of the special patterns. Last time I did the Shenton Park D pattern.
Because the B pattern doesn't stop there? The whole point of the video was how the B pattern is like the C pattern skipping the Thornlie Line stations, but having an extra stop at Queens Park.
I think I know why that in the queens park video that Armadale C Pattern service stopped at queens park because it was supposed to run a Armadale B pattern service it is just that the train destination signal was supposed to say Armadale B but instead it said Armadale C
No I filmed the Queens Park video on a Sunday, that's why there were so many A pattern Armadale Line trains. It was simply a driver error, it happens sometimes, also with Thornlie Line trains stopping at Beckenham (or Armadale Line skipping it) or Perth Stadium. Another example is here: ua-cam.com/video/p5x7wjFNBCU/v-deo.html
Well you can see in the shot that it's right next to the Western Power CAT stop on the Wellington Street/Barrack Street intersection. That was during the Midland Line Disruption in February, it's a clip from the video I made at the time.

Not really a secret route the service is usually scheduled as a 4car and the change in railcars means the scheduled 2car A series didn’t pass final inspection to leave the yard and was defected & changed last minute they’ve had a few of the A series offline due defects & maintenance
Even though there is logic behind the express patterns they’ll be withdrawn services will be more frequent limiting room for expressing the trade off will be higher top speeds for B & C series a few reasons why Armadale trains line express is to maintain sufficient spacing for the level crossings with Thornlie, station spaces will be improved & rationalised including lengthened which will allow 6car trains of both types to run through to Cockburn/Mandurah from the city/Yanchep
@@TransportofPerth sure no probs but the express patterns will most likely be removed transferring between the two lines to get to say Vic Park from Kelmscott can be a bit chaotic and dysfunctional so having two trains run all stops would bring the Cannington group service frequency consistent with the inner WSR & Bayswater group the next stage would getting the NSR & SSR running every 7 minutes on weekends and 10 minutes at night. Have to remember the express patterns were from a time when Perth was much smaller and the system operated with significantly less railcars so some services would run express because they were predominantly 2 & 3cars the aim is to make the system to run more like a metro hence the metronet branding. Armadale & Thornlie trains tend to bunch up around Welshpool so sometimes you wait for 2-3 trains to pass through and get stuck for up to 15 minutes in peak so having Armadale trains run express reduces dwelling. all platforms will be 6car length so both B & C series trains will be able to run through to Cockburn & Mandurah from the Joondalup line & the stadium meaning there will be a mix of 3,4 & 6cars every few minutes without needing to transfer also the Thornlie line timetable will need to be adjusted to have the Sunday frequency improved
@@jayyy092 Yes I understand that there are going to be a lot of changes after the shutdown, and as I said in the video, they will be removing the patterns. Will only the Thornlie Line stations have their platforms lengthened or also on the rest of the Armadale Line stations?

Oh yeah I remember the Armadale b pattern for a school service because there is a school near Queens Park
