I began learning how to wear a kimono as an adult, through practice and online resources. Unfortunately, not every girl learns to wear it these days, as yukata and kimono are now typically reserved for a few festivals or special occasions. As for cooking, I’ve drawn inspiration from traditional methods and honed my skills gradually over the years. I'm not a good cook, there's still something inside of me that is blocking me. But when I watch your cooking dance, totally in the flow of creating something nourishing and meaningful, I begin to understand a little, how it possibly could be or feel like... ☺ Do you feel very different, wearing a kimono? It’s fascinating, and so sanitary too - the hot ash would of course, sterilise anything that falls into it, and in some ways, it’s easier to clean than a greasy stove. You raked the ash at the end of cleaning, makes it look like a Zen garden! But, I’m a little ;) … older so my knees would ache! I do remember doing so many exercises in Aikido to get used to kneeling and moving on my knees on tatami mats, in my university days - makes one’s legs very strong. Those decorations at the entrance to your house - the straw object - is that an old piece of clothing? Also, the things above the front door - are they parasols? Loved the branches you used to decorate. The violet-purple colour of your Kimono is my favourite colour. How do people respond to you when you go into town in your kimono? Or are they used to it? The straw decoration at the entrance is a traditional rain or snow hat and cloak from Japan, while above the door is a wagasa (traditional umbrella). In Japan, there are still people who wear kimono in the streets, but with bright colors like mine, people tend to glance a little. ☺️ Warmest regards from Japan! 🌸

Just stumbled upon your Vlog! I love it. I like your kimono. Your house is a typical Japanese home that I truly love. And I admire you walking around and working in your kimono. I imagine how uncomfortable it must be….I could be wrong. But congratulations on dressing up in traditional outfit, I don’t think many Japanese women nowadays do that. Keep it up!

I said to myself, "How many people have you got living in that house with all those umbrellas?" And then I remembered that I have 4 or 5 umbrellas hanging on my coat rack, plus two more in my car, and I live alone. 😅 When you were cleaning out the firepit, I thought of scooping a kitty litter box, then I wondered if you have cats in your house, how do you keep them from using the fire pit as their toilet? I know, from having a sandbox as a child, cats love sand. They may have the entire outdoors to poop in, but they will do it in your sandbox. I would think they'd be eyeing your firepit the same way.

Actually, we don’t have any pet cats, but the little one you’ve seen is a regular visitor to our home. In Japan, cats seem to love lounging near the warmth of the irori hearth. I’m always happy to have such a lovely guest. 😊

Cats really like clean litter. Having more than one box, cleaning regularly and topping up litter will help your cat keep using their litter box. Jackson Galaxy has great videos on the subject

As for the firepit, that’s such an interesting observation! Actually, we don’t have any pet cats, but the little one you’ve seen is a regular visitor to our home. In Japan, cats seem to love lounging near the warmth of the irori hearth. I’m always happy to have such a lovely guest. 😊

Cats really like clean litter. Having more than one box, cleaning regularly and topping up litter will help your cat keep using their litter box. Jackson Galaxy has great videos on the subject
