- Exploring some more trails near my sister's house. This route could actually connect with the Devil's Den route that I had done the day before. The terrain is similar, but the difficulty was another level. Very messy. Very challenging. A lot of fun.
I started down at the south end and ran along the trail to the north end and back. About 11.4 miles total.

Such a beautiful video, even on such a foggy, dreary day. I think you nailed why I have a hard time enjoying trails running on lots of terrains….it’s much harder to get into a rhythm. The miles don’t tick off without noticing. I’d love to learn to enjoy running on trails bc it’s a completely different mentality. Happy New Years, Ko!
I am sure the more you do it the more you enjoy it. The uphills the the downhills it’s all about perceived effort and find a good flow , joe gray and killian jornet great mountain runners don’t run 5 or 6 minute miles in there races the whole time. Happy trails 🏞
You learn to find flow in the struggle. It's different than getting lost in rhythm but often even more enjoyable.
Happy new year sister women 1❤🤛🏾Girl you need to hit the trails this winter. It helps keep the road running feash. Once or twice every few months.
@jesus Hernandez @mike davey you guys are spot on! And so true about even the faster trail runners. I often struggle getting through even two miles on a treadmill but can usually eventually get into a rhythm and is part of the fun (getting through the struggle). But switching up the terrains and scenery is realllly good for avoiding burnout so I will take these comments to heart. And yours too, @Mr Random!
In my opinion you do such a good job marrying music to the video. well done.
Agreed. Always look forward to how the music and video work together. Well Done, Mike!
Kofuzi on trails is the dopest content on UA-cam right now 🔥🔥🔥!
I’m having a lot of fun
Looks like really good trails to explore Mike.
Pip thinking 🤔 "shoot I missed out on all the fun" lol 😆 😂 Don't worry Pip I was thinking the same..lol
It was such a great day. I just wish I had more time
What an awesome trail! Thanks for taking us along!! Loving these trail videos!! Your videography skills are at an elite level!! 👍👍👍😁😁😁
Thanks so much!
Wrapped up my first 18 miler this morning... in 14 years?! Prepping for a March trail marathon in Salida, CO. Felt good. That's some great footage @kofuzi - nicely done!
Awesome video as always. Beautiful place to run, I wish I could run also there someday. Happy New Year to you, Mike! More miles to come!
That inspiration background music made it feel I was watching some type of movie or something. Great video, I loved the scenery 👍🏽
if you’re in CT for a while, goto Sleeping Giant in Hamden.
If you enjoyed that trail, you should explore just a bit to the north and the west the trail system in Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. Bring the Hoka Zinals and a willingness to do river crossings if the weather is correct. Send me a DM if you want a tour of the river crossings and overlooks.
Nice video. Now if it was just 30 minutes long for my treadmill run. 😅
My husband has lived here all his life and has never been. We have a new place to hike! And yes all Connecticut trails are rocky and seem to be all uphill. You should go north and check out Litchfield (county) next time you are around.
Welcome to Connecticut. There are some great trails to run on here. Hope you have a great time. Happy New Year.
What a fantastic video! Epic music and such a beautiful looking place. The fog really made it eerie and so pretty. Pretty cool camera work too! Loved the ground level shots of your feet and the panning shots. That trail looked pretty challenging but also like something that would be a lot of fun to try and run.
Hi Mike- what did camera did you use for this? The foggy stuff is amazing but that water shot at your turnaround spot blew me away.
Cool video! Kind a look creepy and scary that place! Lol!
Nice vid, great run, and great looking trail. It looks like we both have to use mittens under a certain temp. lol.
Typical East Coast trail! Rocks, roots, up, down. Wouldn’t have it any other way!
It was relentless
It was relentless
I just love trails like that. Video is 👍
Wow! Beautiful scenery!
Gorgeous park and beautiful cinematography! Thanks for this.
I had a great time out there
Amazing
Great effort, terrain is no joke!
Trail shape is not the same as road shape
Nice video amazing scenery, yeah bugger that if you are tying to do a good tempo threshold type trail run, to many stops & starts & very high risk of injury over those pointy slip sliding rocks, I like rolling up & down hills with some not to technical trails, so ya can get a good flowing workout, but it’s also good to do what you are doing, changing it up with completely different scenery & energy, 🙏
It’s a welcome change of pace
Well done.
If your still in CT let’s go hit a quick shake out run.
unfortunately, it was a short trip and I'm back in Chicago
What a beautiful, cinematic video. I really enjoyed watching it. Inspiring. Thanks for sharing these types of videos. Happy New Year. Stay safe, train smart, and keep running...
No Google maps to day..lol LOL did not get lost. Wicked video once again sir happy new year to you and the family. #milesandsmiles
Really enjoying your trail runs! Glad you are adding more of these to your videos. Beautiful footage. Are these the Peregrines?? This looks so fun!
Can’t figure out which shoes you’re wearing… 🤔
there's something majestic about a foggy forrest, the diffuse light and all the leaves on the ground. one of the most rewarding landscapes to run through. you've caught the atmosphere perfectly.
also those sauconys look intriguing! happy new year Mike.
Love to hear your thoughts on the Salomon Ultra Glide on this type of terrain as its close to many trail races in the East Coast. With that said I understand your on vacation and unfortunately can’t take all you trail shoes. Have a great week, and best of luck in 2022 with your races…
Great videos, any chance not adding music? The sounds of nature and you running and talking are the greatest sounds by far.
What a beautiful place to run, I wish if we had such a place! Thank you for a perfect vlog
Classic beast coast running!
Yo you are in CT?! Can I get you some ramen?
The whole fit in this video is :chefs kiss:
Love these scenic videos. I did a 6 mile run yesterday in north Delaware and it was 62 degrees. I quickly regretted wearing a long sleeve shirt.
It’s so weird to be so warm in the winter
what a beautiful video. Happy new year to you and the fam Mike.
Happy new year!
Beautiful. What are those?!?! (Shoes)
Saucony Peregrine 12
Awesome video Mike - looks like a bunch of the stuff I run on these days agreed on the Rhythm thing - which I why like Sage I am an any surface kind of guy and like to vary things a lot - Looks like 2022 is going to be a bit more concentrated on the trails though with the way things are shaping up right now.
Hopefully, things will calm down
Relentless!
Is that a 2022 Saucony trail shoe? In the last video it looked orange and in this one it looks yellow, or are they two different shoes? Thanks for these atmospheric trail videos!
Same shoe. Different camera
Beautiful video 💯
Thank you 🙏
