Must congratulate both these blokes for they were better than I thought they could ever be. And yes, that effort was much more honest than a lot many pro's of the game, chuck all that technique and strategy part. No clinging an hugging, no rabbit punches, no prancing around in the name of "great footwork", no head butts, no trash talking - it was purely about their abilities and a healthy contest with plenty of mutual respect. Thor had great basic technique. Never got excited, and seemed to know it was a 6 round match and to not just try and slug it out. After the first 2 rounds, you see him keep start to keep his left hand higher after taking some licks. Keeps moving to his right away from the 1 single threat Eddie had. His big overhand right, which Thor ate the first 2 rounds. After the 3rd round, Eddie was pretty much gassed, and Thor stuck to his training/technique. Was patient, and got his licks in as well. I feel like Thor could be the next Brock Lesner in any ring sport he chose.

    In my opinion:
For Eddie it was a battle of who's the bigger bruiser as well as who can put out the most weight behind their punches = more force.
For Thor it was a battle of Attrition and a balance of both defense & offence.
In the end of a battle of two of the world's strongest men, it sure comes down to a battle of attrition and Thor won that area.
    But props to both.
And it was quite humbling and also funny as at the start before the battle they were hating on each other and were ready to tear at each others throats and at the end of this one, they came out with what looked like respect for each other akin to coming out of a hard fought battle going from disgust for each other to newfound respect.
    Good job!

This was like watching a turtle fight a kangaroo. But in seriousness, you can see that Thor has put in a lot more work on technique, using the ring, defense (hands up) and overall boxing skills. Eddie was stalking around hoping to land a big punch and I definitely mean hoping for it as he didn’t have any accuracy or idea of his own reach with the haymakers he was throwing. But if Eddie trained up in the boxing skills he could probably cut Thor down with the body shots.

Since Eddie’s shorter, he should’ve focused on body punches since that is within his height. What he’s doing is mainly relying on his right overhead punches, hoping to hit Thor in the face. He can move inside Thor’s defenses and focus on the body, considering that they have the same reach length. What Thor is doing is just right for him since he’s way taller than Eddie; he focused on Eddie’s face, that’s why Eddie had two big red targets on his eyebrows.

You can tell he really has been taking the training serious ; especially technique. For his size he looks good. Now if he can bring that technique together with his power , he would be pretty darn good. What everyone here somehow forgets to mention, Thor has somewhat of a small disadvantage in boxing due to the damage caused by the stroke, he only sees the fists on the damaged side shortly before the impact and yet he has decided to box and does not mention this aftermath - that's what I call sportsmanship. 💯👍
UPDATE ( clarification): I did not mention Bell`s Palsy because most people dont know it. I said "stroke" because the Facial paralysis is very similar to that of a stroke. One reason that speaks for a disadvantage in boxing is, among other things, that Bell's Palsy requires symptomatic therapy with artificial tears, dexpanthenol eye ointment and a night-time watch glass bandage, since the eye is constantly irritated because it is no longer possible to close the eyelids completely - it also interferes with the patient's field of vision.

Thor had a lot of tactical intelligence to wait, to always rotate to his right and to wait for a physical decline of the opponent because only after the second round he understood that Eddie Hall's dangerous punch was the right one, and that he first ducked to dodge the blows and hit him with a parabolic right punch. Eddie Hall before the eye injury fought very well, but then he lost rhythm and strength. With two counts against one, the result in favor of Thor was inevitable.
