I am a female and I agree bring back hot women and manly men if I am fantasizing I am not fantasizing about Lizzo and Mark Ruffalo! I also love to play video games and I always play as the guy and I am a 100 percent biological heterosexual woman.
As a guy, if I have a choice, I will usually play as Femshep. More pleasant to look at, better voice acting. ;-)
The one thing that really roasts me more than anything is the *Hypocrisy*. 'The Male Gaze' is derided, while 'The Female Gaze' is denied that it exists.
Back in College, in '93 I had a literal in-your-face encounter with its reality. Most days after class, I would work out to burn off the stresses of the day. On occassion I would work out without a shirt on because the gym could get very warm. One night I leave it and come within literal inches of colliding with a female student. She looks at me, her eyes go Dinner-Plate wide and she yells, 'Kyle! Oh my GOD! You're HUGE!'
While it was nice to get complimented by a pretty girl, her... 'Enthusiasm' made it a bit embarrassing. I thanked her and left. As I thought about it later though, I wondered what would have happened if the roles had been reversed. If I had loudly exclaimed how HOT some girl was. It seemed pretty fair that in days my rep as a Creeper would have been set in stone. What would have happened in this day and age? I can't even imagine.
Admiration and appreciation is fine, but respect should come with that. For EITHER Sex. Again, it's the hypocrisy that's the worst.
And what he said about Sidney Sweeney, “people aren’t checking her movies out for her acting ability” it’s 100% true, BUT it can (and I truly hope Will) be her springboard. BOTH Cameron Diaz and Monica Bellucci were professional models (I believe both were rep’d by Elite too) BEFORE they ever moved into acting, and their first roles were less Shakespeare and more eye-candy with a few lines of dialogue. Now though they are considered pretty decent actresses.

Ha, I am a guy and always play the woman. Why the hell wouldn't I? 😂 I can look at a man's but-t or a woman's, the choice is easy. Currently playing female Shepard thru the mass effect trilogy.the default character is pretty so I just stuck with her.
That said, a great male character like geralt of rivia is excellent too.
I play Skyrim as a tall hot Nord and I played saints row 2 as a hot Hispanic lady who only dressed in underwear. 😂😂😂😂

Actually, I've always been both. Been a gamer since the early 80s when I was at school, but I also represented the school in Baseball and Football. I personally hate the stereotype that gamers aren't into sports.
Some of the biggest jocks I know kicked my ass in team sports. Makes it the most fun when I call 380s and watch them run.

I remember subscribing to Gary back in 2019 or 2020. I was looking for a comic book channel, and I came across the Nerdrotic channel. I thought, “there’s a guy who I would buy a comic book from” I knew nothing about him but I subbed after the first video I watched. That was at about 130 k subs. Glad to see his success.

Well, the fact is people are watching mainstream media less and less, making them irrelevant. They aren't authentic, and people go to people they can trust on UA-cam because they know they aren't subject to any corporate overlords. You either like they or you go watch someone else. UA-cam is true Democracy; people vote with their mouse or whatever. Mainstream media has to reach out to UA-camrs, or it's game over for them and they know it.

I'm 57 and I was blessed to be a kid in the 70s and 80s and teenager/in my 20s in the 80s, and 20s in the 90s. BLESSED. I grew up with all the greats like John Wayne, Steve McQueen, Charlton Heston to name a few, to Star Wars coming out when I was 10, to the originality of things like The Terminator, Predator, Back to the Future, to the great comedians, shows like Seinfeld in the 90s, comedy movies, great music, the supply of entertainment was endless. I remember these 3 girls in a share house next to hours, and they went to the movies EVERY Tuesday night, because they were half price and they KNEW there'd be a good movie on, didn't even have to read the guide. Us guys in our share house joined them, and every Tuesday night was movie night - smoke a joint, go to all you can eat pizza at Pizza Hut then go to the movies. We TRUSTED Hollywood, we knew they'd make something entertaining. Then computer games came along also, and games were terrific, journalists could be trusted to make honest reviews, glossy gaming magazines with long articles, screen shots, interviews with devs. Life was very good, and I thought it would only ever get better, especially with all the technology available. But these modern people have fucked it all up, and they don't care. It's fucking sad and depressing.

I’m 59, I stood in a line around the block in my hometown theater for Star Wars. That was pre-VHS… if you missed a movie you wouldn’t see it for a couple years on TV - edited with commercials.
Watching the characters in Star Wars degrade over time has been very sad.

I keep seeing people ask why this stuff ramped up around 2016. Government funding was made legal for propaganda in 2012. It takes 3+ years to make a movie. Thats why it was noticed 2015. This is allowed for all entertainment. Thats why we see this nonsense of failing upwards. Its unlimited funding and its made for the primary costumer the government.

@@MegaSpideyman as a person, I respect him, as the person he is sexually, it’s truly disturbing.. To each their own but I’ve watched him a few times on 6 and 7 hour podcasts and in my own opinion.. I don’t wish him any harm or want him to have a hard life as everyone has the right to live their lives freely and peacefully. He brakes no laws, he’s got a huge platform so obviously he brings people some joy..
We need to be able to express our opinions, that’s what Gary, Az, Drinker..etc are always saying, be free to speak your minds, have conversations because if we are constantly silence by 1 message of the other, we will start even more hate and there is already way too much about that.

Americans have no clue about communism, because they are "an ocean apart from it" ... and most of them are "I dont like politics" LIBERTARIANS anyways, but I grew up in West-Berlin in the early 70s and thus know how "communists who call themselves something different but are still communists" look and smell like. "Woke" is rebranded communism ... and Destiny is clearly "woke".

I was watching the movie Alien yesterday I couldn't stop thinking how creative these people were back in those days ...still impressive the writing,the acting,the cinematography...it is insane that we have all this technology people could only dream about back in the day ..and it is wasted on all this garbage they keep putting out

It's interesting as a gen x gamer (I am 54) to see how entertainment and gaming media has evolved. Gary is pretty wise in his assessment of how "media" feel threatened by fans because they realized that they are replacing them. He's 100% correct, I go to place like Geeks and Gamers when I want to know something about a game. I go to Nerdrotic for movies. The 80's were great, so were the 90's but that was 30-40 years ago. I wish all my Gen Z friends could have experienced it, you know companies actually appreciating your consumption.
I enjoyed watching Nerdrotic rip on movies and directors and woke culture. Now he's on Fox to rip on presidents, politicians, companies and DC. This is impressive, this might actually work in getting Fox out of their @$$ and actually do their job and report news.

To your point Jeremy. The former CEO of McDonalds just spoke about how Obama is the reason he got out of owning a Nascar Team. On Kenny Wallace's podcast, he talked about Obama coming in, saying how the military was racist, Nascar was racist, etc. At the time, his biggest sponsor was the USMC. Obama put out an Executive Order that no more money would be spent, by the military, on these types of activities, due to the aforementioned reasons. So yes, you are 100% correct. All of this started with Obama.
Most of the companies and people from gamergate 1 are gone, went under, grifted and disappeared, and so on.
