22:36 check out metal Sonic doing butterfly. A few interesting things about this:
First, it is legal to do other strokes during an individual freestyle event.
Second, butterfly is theoretically faster than freestyle at a robotic level. The problem with humans is stamina, strength, buoyancy, and the necessity of oxygen

Just to set the record straight, EazySpeezy: Each time you're saying "splitscreen" during Marathon, the term you're looking for is *slipstream.* When you're moving right behind someone (or something) else, they have to push themselves through air that's rushing around them, and that pushed air will go right by you, so you don't have to expend as much energy. You know that mechanic in Mario Kart where if you hang out behind someone long enough you get a boost of speed? That's exactly the same thing. It's more commonly known as "drafting." You see it all the time in running races as well as automobile races, though with less exaggerated results than in video games.

funnily enough, me and my sisters swear that Dr Eggman is the fastest character (at least in the 2008 wii game) to the point where we made a whole song about how fast he runs. it's called "Eggman is Running" and its a musical masterpiece

As a runner of 2020, I can say that Dr Eggman is slightly faster in 2020, though I personally choose Vector because his power move at the end gets quite the boost (personal best is 8.314)

Peach’s Super during the equestrian event is actually “Equestrian Vaulting” which is basically gymnastics on horseback. A real thing I have seen real humans do. Utterly baffling to me still

This is the game I've put the most speedrun hours into. Last check I was 7th in archery overall. I just couldn't bring myself to try to tie the top. 35 hours of archery was enough 😆

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games will forever be my favorite of this series. Trolling my cousin in ice hockey by ramming into her teammates so I get the puck will always be comedy cold.
Heck, seeing Dream Racing, I can't help but think of Dream Snowboard Cross and that insane Radical Highway cover as you went down the course. The soundtracks of this series really are underrated

I like how much of a refined taste Bowser has in Olympic events, doing Gymnastics and Fencing is very befitting for the king of the Koopas
the fact that you use so many different characters in the game goes to show how well balanced the devs made them
There should be a speedrun of this game where you try to finish all the mini games in hard mode with the worst characters for each one as fast as you can

I’m surprised how accurate the Gymnastics floor exercise routine was. The routine composition was almost correct according to the MAG Code of Points
What would've make it fully correct?
@@themoocow7718 just missing a forward tumbling pass. All of the tumbling passes were backwards. Also, obviously the quintuple or sextuple back tuck at the end doesn’t exist but that’s just part of the fun of the game.

Only people of culture remember the *ORIGINAL* Dream Race from Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for Beijing 2008 where it was exactly as it sounds like, a four-lap race around a track with Item Boxes and Dash Panels. Bowser doing gymnastics is…something. Maybe that helps to explain how he’s so mobile in Smash.

Dream racing is the closest we will ever get to another sonic riders game
I imagine it could make a comeback eventually. I think it’s definitely more likely than Nintendo releasing a new F-Zero or Kirby Air Ride. I’ve actually been playing the first Sonic Riders again, I’m enjoying it quite a lot.

One of the understated impressive feats of these videos is that Speezy is doing full commentary while speedrunning. Doing commentary while playing any game is difficult. Mad props.
What’s freaky is that I was just watching mario and sonic gameplay. No I will not explain why I, an adult, was binging Mario and Sonic Olympic games of 2020, 2016 and 2014/2012.

Wow, what a small world! I had finished binging the 2020 story mode content and now I'm binging the 2010 story mode (Adventure Tours is what it's called, but it has some elements of story, so might as well not make it confusing).

Btw, those "splitstreams" are actually just you drafting behind people. It gives you extra stamina because when you run you have to break the drag in order to run faster, and the faster you run the harder it is to break the next drag.

I do believe that the dream racing event is based off am the Sonic Riders Games. If not it look remarkably similar.
It is sonic riders, the boards are Extreme Gears.
This is a fun watch, and it's making me hopeful you'll play at least one of the winter Olympics games at some point (mostly for nostalgia reasons, since the first Mario & Sonic game I played was the 2010 winter games on the DS, which imo still holds up really well).

Quick tip, in Judo you get the1-hit Ippon by throwing your opponent early.
If you only do it after a few seconds you get the Waza-Ari.
The 1964 Olympics events made me smile, but the Luigi v Mario judo had some ultimate rivalry fight energy and I'm all for it

I would like to see a speed run of sonic forces or some other sonic game. I know there are many speed runs but your commentary is so much better
I want to see him actually win a world record. I know that's not something he can just do, but the fact that when he first said he could get world record that made it obv no one did the run before is a little annoying.
