    I have a radius of 0.5 mm in my job , I am using 0.8 radius insert for rough finish and 0.4 insert for finish cut . I get error of interface G41/ G42. When I remove TNR comp G42 it works but than , lot of material is left for finish cut . Can you please advice.

    • @CNCLearning

      For a precise reply, I need to see the program used.
      Probable reason can be, insufficient positioning distance.
      Or wrong insert nose radius in tool offset.
      Else wrong tool type

    tool type number used for outer and inner grooving tools???

    • @CNCLearning
      @CNCLearning  Рік тому

      It depends upon how you make the program. If you are using a flat grooving tool, it will have two corners. You need to consider every corner as a seperate tool.
      For example, OD grooving tool, the corner which is closer to the Chuck will be considered as an OD forward turning tool. So type 3. Other corner will act like a reverse turning tool. So tool type 4.
      Tool width compensation you need to consider in the program.
      For round insert grooving, it will be tool type 8 for OD

    👍and subscribed.
    How would you use comp on a profile that requires the tip direction to change? Such as a type 2 profile on a Haas lathe. Program as a tip 9 with no comp?

    • @CNCLearning
      @CNCLearning  2 роки тому

      If it is a round tool with cutting on all sides, then type 9. You can use compensation.

    • @James-fs4rn

      @@CNCLearning Thank you for the reply my friend!
      I would be using a V type profile insert. I could set the tool offset to the center of the TNR and comp with tip 9. This sound correct? Thank you again.

    • @CNCLearning

      Type 9 is used when you are using a button tool (round insert). Type 9 is rarely used in daily life. In that case the offset need to be set to center of round.
