Best looking railroad anvil I ever seen
Thank you sir ☺️
Was not expecting that intro 😂
LoL gotta change it up from time to time 😉
This is one of the first videos I've seen where the horn is actually forged out instead of stock removal of rail track
That is the Epitome of Craftmanship. I'd be proud to own that anvil.
Thank you Scott!
I have watched almost every train track anvil video on UA-cam and you just set the bar to a crazy new height that anvil is so legit I love it!!
The perfect video for a Monday morning. Almost spit coffee all over my screen 🤣🤣🤣
I build this same Anvil only I do it without a forge
I am envious of your process
Very nice !!
Great work, and thanks for flooding your shop to show us how to do it properly!!!
What a flood in the shop! Great video and I laughed SO hard at the baby anvil intro.
I'm glad you enjoyed it Gene 😊
That is a nice little anvil !
This is the 1st times I have seen someone forge a rail track anvil. Most just cut them. . That is a sweet little tool. Well done Sir :)
Awesome. Hope the shop dries quickly
What a fun project to make and a lot of good laughs that day
It was a great time of forging for sure 😊
Well, I didn't hear Olga complain when she gave birth to the baby anvil! Very funny. Appreciate your forging the horn, not just cutting it in like most do.
I wouldn't bet on the hardest basted on the video. But my Grandfather, made one back in the 40's that I can still use today. It's lite, and I do many turnings on it. I would never use it for hard Foraging
It's not bad but need to check it
I agree.
Anvils aren't very good at finding food.
My anvil is a 135 lb square piece of aneald 4140 works beautifully for me and I use an old railroad spike driving sledge hammer head for a horn. I feel iam very fortunate to have what I have. Love your content Roy. Always thx for inspirational videos!!
Btw.... that really is a nice looking track anvil!!!!!
So glad for you and that you enjoyed the video
Great video. It's different seeing Roy as the strong and silent type. 😆 thank you for your channel and videos.
LoL every now in then I keep quiet 🤫
that turned out to be a good looking anvil and I think it would work just as well as it looks
The whole video is absolute genius! I hope you are healing well from your injuries. Thank you!
Ok this made me laugh out loud. From the first two camera shots I could tell where you were going.
Great work came out beautiful.
Love the work!! how much for a loong horn & squared opposing end?
Wasn't planning on selling any just made this for fun 😊
Great videos guys. Loved the intro!
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
This is your funniest vid so far...with the baby anvil dropping to the 70's porn music play while making the anvil is a comedic masterpiece.
the best thing you can do to a track anvil is weld every piece you cut off back to the center web.... everything you cut off is reducing mass... if you are luck enough to score some joiner plates,, simply bolting them to the rail will reduce ring, bounce, and improve things greatly
It will still be a track anvil! I don't believe they are noted for their mass, no matter what the design.
Lotta sweat hammered into that iron.
Yeah it's a lot of work making a baby anvil
diggin the tunes! kinda groovin in time with the hammer! 😎
Very nice work
Very cool video, man. I love watching projects like this.
Very interesting take on it Roy. Very nice job. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God bless.
Glad you enjoyed it
I use the Anvil to build the Anvil
Wow! I'm surprised YT didn't ding you for that! 🙂 Laughed my A$$ off on that! Just shows if you're willing to put in the time and effort, you can have a decent small anvil....
Awesome!
Brilliant!
Don't forget to send us your mailing address... You won an Andrew Larson hammer! (The info to claim is in the Livestream description). Have a good day! -Jessica at Christ Centered Ironworks
@@ChristCenteredIronworks ooh I did totally forget to do that, ty
Thats a pretty nice lookin anvil. Thanks!
For a second there, I thought you might beef up the web by forge welding some of the removed material.
ROFL!!! Thanks for not showing us the dirty deed being done. Seriously, though, this was not something I really thought I needed to know but now I am happy to have seen the process. Nice sledging, Thomas!
Man, you had me rolling!😂 Looks great but I’m a little concerned you’re in danger of losing your G rating.😁
Lol.... Don't worry I won't go to far outside the box 😉
Cool. Thank you.
Hope you enjoy the rest of the video
Poor Olga, 😁🤣
LoL yeah
Little editing tip: to make your intros extra spicy and clean, switching between shots to the beat of the song can give a really really cool effect. Other than that love the video!
Did you just choose not to drift a hardy hole through it, or is there some sort of functional or practical reason that this particular type of anvil shouldn't have one?
Well I guess that's why they call it a Hardie hole
Maybe 😏
Can you please explain the heat treatment at the end. I've got a 15" piece of track and intend make a similar anvil soon. Regards from UK.
Awesome! I've been toying with the idea of making a rr track anvil for use inside with leatherwork. Mine will be mainly stock removal though, unless I can convince my brother to come strike for me 😆
Also, for some reason there's no "like" button on this video? I can see the video has likes, but I have no way to like it?
It’s beautiful. But I would have done the support a bit differently. I would have had the vertical web extent at an angle further up to the rear of the striking face for more support. The problem with railroad anvils is the the vertical web is so thin. Also just how hard is it? I’ve heard varying opinions, but I’ve never had a piece to test myself.
I’ve been wanting an anvil for quite awhile-the one you forged is awesome! Are you selling them?
Roy I think you mixed up the audio with that other file. Very nice forging. Did you grind the fish lips out of them off camera?
Ha! Fun stuff!
Nice rebound, how did it go for hardness?👍
Have you ever tried to forge weld pieces of steel to the sides of the vertical section of the track to give it more mass? Also have you tried to forge weld a piece of higher strength steel to the top? Btw I enjoyed the video very much.
I think the purpose of these anvils is to be made by people who aren’t blacksmiths, but need a small anvil that’s not CI. They have to be able to make them easily, without the use of a forge.
Mine looks similar it just isnt as hard and the horn is a little different
🤔??
Thanks to Thomas Power Hammer, 👍
Still not sure why I have to stand in water by Olga, that is a rap, we go to the house now.😁
Rail road track Olga railroad track Olga railroad track Olga man what a pretty lady Olga is
Olga is the best 🙂
Ya know I never thought of anvil porn as a bad thing but I think you changed my mind. Great video well other than that risque part any way. 😉
Heard the music and was crap I clicked on the wrong video but then no I'm right where I need to be.. Oh yeah... lol 😆
hehheeee I think you gone off the deep end, sexy music a rail, and olga then the rail again then olga, then an achao drops out the bottom, are you sure your not putting too much suger in your coffee again?
on the other hand it shaped out nice like a regular anvil, ours at the loco shop is just a track thats been ground to shape not even forged I dont think
Will you be selling this anvil or giving it away ?
Definitely not made for chil'ns. LOL Curious what the hardness is now compared to the last RR track video
Be careful momma doesn't give you the horn for beating her baby on her back like that! 😆
Болота наделали 😥
I’m already uncomfy
LoL 😂
I'm glad Roy went along with my humor making the into this was so much fun to make
Anvil porn indeed 🥴
Ummmmm.........
You know you like it 😉
Hi Bar
