In case you didn't know, Mat & Chels: Kanami, the lead guitarist, also writes the songs; Miku, the 2nd guitarist, writes the lyrics; Saiki, the vocalists, usually directs and has the final say on many decisions; Akane (A-Ka-Nay) is one of the best rock drummers in the business with her relentless drive, fluid dynamics and the kick. And MISA is rather unique with her alternating pick & slap style with up & down (the neck) runs that not only drive the songs, but adds a counter lead to Kanami's main riffs and solos. But you're right guys. Band-Maid has so much talent, personality and creativity that we're lucky to have such a prolific and joyful band (over 100 songs) in our lives. If you haven't yet, try to catch them live!
Well said. Incredible performers. Their song writing is uncanny. They know just what to do and when to make a song super catchy and memorable. True artists and they are only getting better with time.
Memorable. So true. I'd listen to bands who are insanely good (technically better than band-maid), but so forgettable and all their songs sound the same, so I stop listening to them after 2-3 songs that I might not remember anyway.

Rock from the late sixties and early seventies. That is until Band Maid came along. Now I am re-listening over and over again to all of their songs, new and old. I try to keep an open mind about new music but honestly I know what I like. And it is Band Maid.
This song works great as an instrumental as well. The blu-ray dvd extra to the album had a version of that. It's amazing to hear all the complex things going on underneath the vocals.
I actually like the instrumental version even better, as I can hear everything that's going on - so cool that you could remove all those "oh oh oh oh's" and it's an instrumental that totally stands on its own.
@@Kevin6059 but I like hearing Saiki growl before the oh-oh-oh bit and the harmony with Miku in the melodious part is so heavenly. But oh-oh-oh is as catchy as it is, it's perhaps the main reason some people don't take them seriously or put off by them. Also as they get more mainstream and songs used in tv ads, anime and opening song for events, they'll get more pressure to make their song even catchier or J-Rocky to some extent.....
Yes I've said the same thing many times, how can you watch a Band-Maid video and not smile? And when I saw them live in Oct. of 22, my jaws were sore after the show.... from smiling... the whole time! Truly gifted ladies. Thank you Band-Maid for sharing that gift.
I like the mix of the almost filthy-sounding parts and the ultra-catchy chorus that just invites you to sing along. I don't even think we need to talk about the bass solo. The assassin has struck again. :) One of those performances where you can't help but smile with the girls and be in a better mood afterwards. It seems likely that their will be an MV of some sort or maybe they are already declaring a new album for next year...because Band-Maid seems to do that ever year. Stay tuned!

I just came back from listening to ace of spades...yeah main riff is similar but I prefer this as a song. I'm the type of person who gets bored so easily, but the maids give me all I want. Their songs are like stories. Kanami probably gets inspiration from any sounds or melodies her ears pick up but I'm not sure if she remembers where exactly her inspiration is coming from. 😄

Well done, you two. Yes, their "happy factor" is like nothing I've experienced before. Prior to this band, I listened to very little music that you could call "catchy" - as it was usually crap. Neither is correct. There's no "e" sound or "eh" sound or "ah" sound in Japanese. Closest may be ah (but without -h) - cunneh (but without -h). No intonation in it either. Japanese language is very percussive. You can slow down where Saiki raps in "blooming" to decipher what I mean.

Possibly one of my favorite Japanese all women metal bands out there. Although that genre is world class leading everyone at the moment reviving metal/hard rock around the world.
