This video is amazing! Thank you for posting realistic content, suited for families. Especially those who may only get to visit here once! This has helped me decide that we WILL eat here on our visit. ❤
I need those silicon plates for my 1 year old granddaughter! 😂 Please let James know that he made my day with the surprise thank you card. When my grandson who is 9 next month, heard me say it was from SoCal Disney Dad, he was so excited! You both are good parents and examples. I love watching your videos.
Awesome review! So glad you had a great experience. Considering this for out trip in April. Love the kids dishes but wouldn't waste this place on a family trip - too many picky eaters. 😂 Will definitely be trying the chocolate bao!
Traver, Amy, James and Benjamin: thank you very much for the super fun live yesterday! I had some anxiety last night and you all distracted me from it perfectly! It helped me calm down and I really appreciated you answering all of my questions 🤗💫 Can’t wait to see what you guys of thought of Din Tai Fung! I’m looking forward to going there 😃 Hope you are having a great night 🌟
Hi there, met you guys at Downtown Disney, I believe it was the same day that you made this video. Thanks for stopping and taking a picture, wife and I love watching your videos. 👍🏽
Thank you so much for your review of this restaurant! I always like to see what your family’s thoughts are on restaurants because we have a young child and knowing whether a restaurant will have things that kids will like is important to me. We will be in Disneyland at the end of August and I have enjoyed many of your videos. We will definitely order more chocolate baos now knowing how much I know we will all enjoy them. Looking forward to trying Din Tai Fung for ourselves.
Love Din Tai Fung! Their pork chop fried rice is pretty good and of course the XLBs are a must. Also love the broccoli with garlic, as well as the string beans.
So happy they brought this restaurant to Disneyland! We have them here in Washington State and love their food! If you think the chocolate bao is delicious, try the sesame mochi bao, my favorite! Also, try the sweet and sour baby back ribs. They melt in your mouth! 😋
We all love dumplings, when we go to Disney later this year we’ll try to eat there for sure - I’ve been wanting to try Din Tai Fung for a while but not enough to drive an hour to the one closest to us in Santa Clara.
I was just going to recommend the STRING BEANS until you mentioned it at the end! You must get them next time!! I don't want to overhype it but they are literally the best string beans I've ever had in my life! And we agree about the spicy wontons! I'm not even a spicy loving person but I looove those spicy wontons! I also prefer them over the regular xialong baos, the flavor is just phenomenal! And yessss so glad you had the chocolate xiaolong baos! I can definitely eat a whole order to myself! They are soooo good! So glad you guys finally got to try Din Tai Fung! And I can't believe you haven't been to the one in San Diego yet! I live around the area too and have been a few times since its opening so I know it's been around for a few years because the first time we went, we didnt have kids yet! 😅 I'm getting hungry now so I may have to pay a visit soon!
We’re headed back to the parks end of august and have a down day between park days. Thinking we’ll book a meal here and hang out at DTD! Looks like reservations are 30 days out? Just set an alert to try to snag one (just like I did for our reservations IN the parks. Haha!) Thanks for sharing your fun review. 😊
I’ll have to try this place sometime. Not sure if the chocolate bao counts as a Disney food if you can get it anywhere and I’m skeptical if it’s really better than the dole whip float, but I do love molten chocolate cakes, so we’ll see!
Definitely add some chili oil to the soy sauce next time. Game changer! Gives it a nice kick. We are so lucky to have one of these in Sydney about 5 minutes drive from our home 🤤
I actually was already thinking about going there in August. Now, I definitely will. I don’t like chocolate but my boys do. I‘m totally into Asian food though! 🎉
So happy you have a new place to eat. And that it's good. I also heard the garlic and string beans are very good. More chocolate is what I like to hear. Awesome review. I'm glad it was a hit.
Wonderful - we want to go in Sept. do you know the time of day they drop the reservations for the next day on the calendar? I think it’s before 6am but that’s the earliest I’ve looked. I can tell that the dinner reservations go fast
@@SoCalDisneyDad Hello - crazy me - I learned that they drop their new reservation openings at midnight 1 month ahead. I tested it. We have to get a reservation for a big group on a specific day of our trip, so I'll be up at midnight 30 days out booking it. Thanks!
I think the pricing is about inline with a resort. The pricing is similar to the Din Tai Fung at Aria in Las Vegas. Although the last time we went there was 2 years ago.

The food at DTF in Seattle is pretty good, but its kind of expensive. I'd rather get normal Dim Sum at a regular Chinese restaurant. Have you been to "Tim Ho Wan"? Their BBQ pork bun is very good, probably the best I've had. There used to be one located Irvine, they can be expensive too, but they have a happy hour.
To clarify - you ordered the Chocolate & Mochi XLB (5 pcs) and not the Chocolate Buns (2 pcs)? How was the cream, needed? Was the garlic and green beans a shareable side? It seems pricy for an individual side (unless you're a vegetarian I guess). Thanks for the honest review!!
Correct, yes, the Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao, I believe I wrote the item name in the video. The sea salt cream just added a nice dip for it. For $1 it's definitely worth it, and large enough if you order multiple Chocolate XLBs it'll last, so you don't need to order the cream again. All of the items are sized the way you saw in the video. So the green beans would be a portion similar to the noodles or the rice.
@@SoCalDisneyDad Thanks, you're right, the words are on the screen! That would be a lot of green beans, but sounds delicious. My husband now wants to go here and Goofy's Kitchen! :)
@@LJC123 Amy did it through Yelp. Though I’ve heard it’s super popular and all the reservations are gone. And no one really knows when they drop new ones. But they do accept walk ups. I would just be there right at 11:30 when they open.
The waiter coming up and awkward backing out at 8:18. Relatable. 😂

Glad we could be a distraction. And Din Tai Fung was amazing!
Glad it’s finally open; I’ll have to check it out in a few weeks.
I love the sweet taro buns, I always order 3 orders when I got and take them home to eat.

We love Din Tai Fung and eat there as often as we can. Thrilled they are now at dtd.
This Restaurant looks really good! Definitely gonna have to try it next time I go to Disneyland!!! Thanks Travor, Amy, & Boys!
i love din tai !! the service is always amazing. while i do think there are better dim sum places, nothing beats the chocolate dumplings❤
Oh my gosh!!! My family was just there at Disneyland!! Going back!!!

Thanks for the video and for reviewing the restaurant! The food looks delicious!
Thank you for the review, we are going to our first Disneyland trip in August. Your presentation of the food items were great.
For next time!! You have to order the rice cakes with chicken! It is my absolute favorite thing there!

Keep checking and you can always try a walk-up. They were taking walk-ups at lunch time when they opened.
I'm so excited to go there! Thank you for your video 😊
Everything that you ordered looked so good and I love how swanky the restaurant looks, especially being new!
The waiter in the back knew not to interrupt you 😂😂😂
You should try the pork fried rice next time. Also the broth soups are really good.
Looks like you got some sun lol. It all looks so good
The string beans and cucumber appetizer are also so good!
We love the garlic broccoli and the rice cakes with pork!
Great video! Definitely going to check out the restaurant and the chocolate!
We’re going to Disneyland in October and we’re definitely going to eat there. Thanks for the review.
The milk boba tea is so good
I love your you tube. I am coming to Disneyland next April
What’s delish is if you drizzle some of that spicy wonton sauce onto the fried rice. So good!
So fun!!! Thanks for the video guys!

does anyone know if parks will be closed or even ride attractions shut down as cast members and employees from disneyland will go on strike?
Its good food but very small portions for the prices they charge at this location.
it must be the best new restaurant as it is the only new restaurant
In the last year Disneyland has opened Cafe Daisy, Tiana's Palace, Paseo, Centrico, Tiendita, and now Din Tai Fung.
What happened with the sea salt cream?
