Good video. :) I find TVs above linear fireplaces to be better suited, as the TV can be a little lower and the aesthetics work (fireplace should be wider than TV). I find that a proper mantel (like the one on the video) should be used. Smaller mantels aren’t effective, especially for the Mezzo fireplaces.
I just literally fucked my TV up above my fire place because I didn’t mount it. Overheated the screen. Now I see only green red line throughout while the tv is on 🤦🏾♂️
Heat: not a problem. Height: big problems. If you like neck pain then mount your TV over fireplace.

What about over a wood fireplace what is the height requirements for that, I just bought a house recently and want to mount my Tv over my fireplace. This is an older house from the 50s and when i did a stud check it basically said there was something all the way across the length of the fireplace so im worried and wonder if its still okay to mount the tv. Can anyone help me?
It can be done BUT a lot more care needs to be taken as the heat protruding from the front can damage the TV. However, basic precautions can be taken such as increase in height of the TV, introducing a non-combustible shelf and more. Speaking to the installers is super important as each scenario is different.
DON’T DO IT!! Tv’s over a fireplace are cheap and trashy.
