Around 2008, 2009 IPTV was available in India, from BSNL and Airtel, when there was Dialup internet everywhere but DSL Landline was scarce. So it really didn't take off, also it was available only in cities. Now, situation is very different with almost 99% area covered with high-speed internet. If IPTV is launched now properly, it will definitely take off very well.
Yeah I had took it for a few months. Loading times were slow tho. I had a CRT monitor back then so can't comment on the quality 😂 but you definitely needed a bandwidth of 10-15 Mbps. So by availing that service they actually boosted our internet speed. You also needed another set top box to connect to tv obviously.
I won't suggest ppl to take IPTV bsnl now. If your internet goes down, everything goes down . Millions are taking new connections, it's bound to keep going down bcs of lack of proper infrastructure. Wait for 1-2 years and wait for the fiber infrastructure to be stable. Then take.
@@ashish00007 No man, nowadays I think internet is pretty ubiquitous and stable. And I've been a BSNL FTTH user for almost an year and the speeds, internet access, is pretty fine. Well customer service is shitty but still it's the only provider in my town
@@dhyaneshwarra5851 actually one of my network in my district which is widely popular in the entire state is down for the last 2 days in my district for majority of people. And they don't even know when it will get fixed. That's why I said so. Even bsnl, takes weeks to repair. My ADSL bsnl took 2 months for them to repair in March this year. But yeah lockdown n what not.

@@dhyaneshwarra5851 and yea same. Only bsnl provides fiber in my area too. So stuck with it. Have applied for fiber 4 weeks back. Still haven't gotten the router. Wiring done last week tho😂 hopefully I'll get within a day or two.

Airtel had IPTV till 2013 or so and MTNL had Aksh fibre in Delhi but since IPTV did not pick up...AIRTEL killed it and MTNL's died on it's own.

Hello Chandan. Bhai ek cheez thoda logically samajh nahi aayi mujhe, I guess it'll create a doubt in your mind as well. Jio plans like 1499, 3999, 8499 etc. have upgradation in Netflix screens (1, 2 and 4 respectively) but still has Hotstar VIP in these plans. Don't you think they could have upgraded the Hotstar VIP to Premium in their high priced plans?

@@SarcasticSindhi Be it any plan, taking OTT apps subscription separately (pay as we need, preferably yearly) will always be a cheaper option. Particularly watching GeekyRanjit video on 399 Jio plan I'd say that's the best one (my Netflix was working at 720p at 0.15Mbps and 2160p at 3.35Mbps)

Since fiber connection is available now in all cities, jio and airtel should launch IPTV services(with all channels ) or someone like amazon prime should do. If providers like jio and airtel can do it and allow consumers watch TV content without using data from data pack, it will be good.
