Chinese in South America, Europe and somewhere else not English countries where they are hard to learn local language. Why not minority people are in HK?
Although I feel sorry for their situation, they ought to make an effort to learn the local language in order to blend in. You don't emigrate to the US and expect people there to speak to you in your mother tongue right?
@TSG 302W obviously you would think that since you are a mainland Chinese guy. US has no official language. That argument is irrelevant, also the case with English language. English is a universal language. It is even an official language of HK as well as Cantonese. However, Cantonese is way harder to learn than eng generally speaking. And the majority speaks Cantonese. If the government helps ethnic minorities with a resource to exercise spoken Cantonese , then language barrier could be solved. Cantonese is a language that’s specifically learnt via communication. Well, if you are guy that speaks mandarin, it is relatively easier for you to grasp Cantonese for obvious reasons. It like we Nepalese can easily grasp Hindi. Now, my struggle as a guy who already speaks 3 languages is to learn Cantonese just to be able to be able socialise with the majority of Hk in the isolated-cultured environment that hampers communication.
Your argument is irrelevant as US has no official language and Eng is an universal language. The official language of HK is Eng and Canto, overwhelming majority only speaks Canto because it’s their native language. While the other’s native language isn’t even English. On top of that, we are obligated to learn a third language that’s know as one of the hardest and requires in-person practice. It is utterly difficult to practice it in such isolated environment. There is a language barrier. That’s it.

After living in Hong Kong for several generations, one should at least learn the language of where you live.

唔明，可以讀小學，點解讀唔到初中？既然是小朋友就在香港讀書，那就是同正常香港小朋友一樣讀書，為什麼香港小朋友可以，尼泊爾的不能畢業？
很簡單，一句用廣東話教學已經令很多小數族裔落後其他學生，他們不是像有錢人負擔得起國際學校，加上制度性歧視，社會亦沒有撥出足夠資源去幫助。
若真心融入社會，還沒學會廣東話並不是罪，他們勤奮並沒有依賴綜援或掠奪社會資源，缺乏的是學習資源和社會給他們的機會。

英國有資格獨裁，因香港由它一手建立，但中共只是坐享其成。港英政府以前設立很多非官守華人議席，民政事務處，港督經常落區咨詢民意，所以施政是有多方咨詢参考香港人意見，不是獨裁一意孤行
