  • Traditional Bluegrass artist from Falls Church Virginia, the very lovely Beth Coleman in a TV appearance with members of the Stone Hearth Bluegrass Band. Beth was one of the most popular performers on the WDVR Heartlands Hayride's live radio broadcasts for the show's first 3 years, heard throughout the Delaware Valley area in PA and NJ on Saturday nights 6-8pm on WDVR 89.7 FM and 91.9 FM in the Princeton/Trenton area. Presently, the Beth Coleman Band is a highly sought-after attraction at Bluegrass festivals in the northeast and mid south.
    Band personnel here are: Beth Coleman-lead vocals; Mark Jackson-mandolin; Mike Olenik-bass; E.C. Moore-guitar; Mike Terris-5 string banjo and Bill Turner-dobro and fiddle.

    Love you mommy. Missing you extra tonight. So surreal to see you young and healthy here. I know you're singing like this in heaven. I miss these days, when we would bake dessert together and the band would come to our house for rehearsal. You would let me and Brendan and Jack stay up for a little bit listening to the awesome music you guys played, and then you'd make us go to be :( I'd fall asleep to the sound of you singing and these boys playing this great music

    This band in that basic form with a few changes went on for 22 years. We lost Beth due to illness I guess around 2010or so.a sad loss but we kept going.we all met at the heartland's hayride radio show back in 2000. The banjo player and myself after talking about it decided to bring a few guys we both knew and the Stonehearth Bluegrass Band was born .here it is2023 the band is taking some time off , but I'm sure they will be back.a few years after we got started, Beth wanted go her own way so she started her own band. THE BETH COLEMAN BAND! A few of us played in both bands for about 12 years. I loved playing and singing with her. We all miss her. Bill Tunnefr played with us when ever he could make it. Your watching a TV show show we did back in I guess around 2010 not sure but a white ago.

    By far my favourite version of Once More on youtube.Note their pronunciation of 'Fortune' as fortyoon which is much more like the way I as an Englishman would say it.

    I think she's singing Once More in the original key. That shows how high Bobby Osborne can sing. Nice job on that one, and the dobro man has been listening to the Shot Jackson original.

  • @Pickinbuddy
    @Pickinbuddy  14 років тому

    @tnhounddawg
    It was Shot Jackson! The Osbornes & Red recorded this in July 1957 at RCA Studios in Nashville. Back then, Shot did most of the session work on Dobro for the various artists recording in Nashville.

    Hi TNHD!
    This is a factory restored Model 27 Dobro (from 1929) which I actually bought at the Dobro Factory in California, in 1981. It was originally a round neck which had the neck broken and the factory replaced the neck with a square neck plus they also refinished it. I keep it in G tuning.
    Thanks for the comment!

  • @tnhounddawg
    @tnhounddawg 14 років тому +1

    Thanks for the reply and you bring out all the beautiful sound that's so much like Oz's Dobro.I like the old style of the Dobro like you play;in fact I quite playing on account of the new sounds of the modern resonator guitars,makes me sick at the direction bluegrass music has turned.Keep up the good picking and I look forward to hearing you more .Incidentally,would you know who played the Dobro in the Osborn Bros. Red Allen recording from back in the sixties ? Regards
