Great unboxing and informative regarding the content. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Note a change in the running order of the album to fit the vinyl
Yeah, threw me off at first
Given the delay he could have done a live album from the latest tour to put in there - the Backside Mix.
Beautiful piece and I really love the album, which has best music from Gabriel in years if not decades. Will I get the box? Well, I already have the contents, so probably not… yet… considering the price, but I’ll probably get it somewhere along the way.
Agree, it's a stunning album. There's a review on SDE which supports this...
I think it’s a shame they had to brand the poster in the bottom corner - it’s such a powerful image that anything else just takes away from it.
What a waste.....your going to be spending your time turning the vinyl over all the time 🤣😂
Up until the invention of the LP and the microgroove in the late 1940s parents would feel safe leaving their children alone in another room with their boyfriend or girlfriend and a pile of 78s because they knew they’d have to get up and change the record every 3 minutes.
if you are consuming music, that`s right - you might waste a time but... if you are savoring and admiring music the vinyl makes a vital difference. The choice is yours :)
Hes squeezing every last drop out of that bunch of songs. The two mixes are a joke. Most people can't tell the difference lol Nice enough album but I'm over it.
It’s probably for those who can tell the difference. I can and two different mixes are not a joke to me, but rather a brilliant idea.
Well, the book is new ... let's not overlook that. But musically, no, nothing new.
Very interesting that you mention the bluray in the 3-disc set was 24bit / 48kHz, but the bluray in this deluxe box is 24bit / 96kHz. Was it just a mistake on the labelling (i.e. the content was actually 96kHz, but it was mislabelled as 48Khz), or is the actual content on the discs different?
The content on the 2CD+blu-ray was advertised as 96/24 but someone messed up and it is actually 48/24. They corrected for the blu-ray on the box set.
@@sdedition The 48/24 version is an incredible surround sound experience, but I'd really like to upgrade to the 96/24 version now that you've made me aware of this. Is there any chance of a future SDE Surround Series release of the bluray with the corrected 96/24 version? Or is the expensive boxset the only way to upgrade to the 96/24 version?
