“Games can cause anti social behavior” it was the opposite for me actually. I was horribly shy in person but flourished socially in multi player online games. It taught me how to confidently speak with people. Random people. I’d never speak to random people in person before but now I was forced to do it, but from the safety of my own home without eye contact. It taught me to be more social and be more comfortable socially.
Great Ted talk, I completely agree with everything! I'm a high school teacher who started an afterschool Minecraft Club during the start of the pandemic in order for students to have a place to de-stress and relax. It has grown into something so much bigger than I could have imagined! We've done charity fundraising, esports competitions, met the mayor of NYC, and spoke at the recent United Nations Climate Change Conference all in the name of Minecraft Education.
I'm an architecture student and also a minecraft player and actually, minecraft helped me to understand more about architecture and engineering because of redstones and building houses, and by playing minecraft for years since 2010, this rlly puts out the truth
Thanks to this vid, I am beginning to learn how to play Minecraft to include in my English language learning lessons. Certainly an interesting topic, may do my final project on this to graduate college. Thank you sooo much for the inspo!!!!
