"The Simpsons: A 37-Year History" ALBUM IS OUT! 🎶💿 (Link in the description of this video) *CORRECTIONS:* 03:26 - This is NOT what you might think it is. The joke here is having a hard time spelling the character's name, which is "Dr. N!godatu" 09:57 - The 1990 game I'm talking about here seems to have been a pinball machine, not a video game. The first Simpsons video game, and the reason I thought Bart vs. The Space Mutants was the third game (second after the "game" that was instead a pinball machine), was "The Simpsons" Arcade game released by Konami in 1991 12:43 - Bart VS. Australia was apparently not and is not hated by Australians in general, and this does seem to be an accidental overstatement. According to some comments, and posts I have seen online too I believe, this episode is generally liked by Australians, and some even reference the jokes in the episode.
Even though Disney has definitely milked Simpsons dry, they've still produces few actual gems of the HD era. Season 33 "Serious Flanders 1&2" and "Pixelated and afraid" are actual masterpeices. I recommend that people check these episodes out. This post was sponsored by Copium
How are you not super popular this is really well edited it like this is something that someone with like 100,000 subscribers or maybe even a million would make
Thank you! 😎 I think it's because I haven't been so consistent in the past, both with the upload schedule and what niche/topic I post in. But, I'm improving more and more, and this video did break a record for me!
This is amazing. I wasn’t allowed to watch the Simpsons growing up. I did watch a bit of a couple of the older episodes when I was eleven or twelve and one “modern” episode when I was fourteen but I didn’t start watching the show itself until I was seventeen and I’ve loved it ever since.
We've finally reached the point in time where people don't know what collect calling was. 1-800-COLLECT was a way of making a collect call, which was a way to make a long-distance call with the recipient responsible for the cost
Whenever I hear someone say that Australians don’t like the Australia episode I get so confused because as an Australian I’ve only ever seen it praised here by everyone to the point where a lot of people genuinely say “dollarydoos” and no one even questions it. I can only assume it was an older more prideful audience who are probably in their 60/70s now and couldn’t take a joke towards their own culture haha
Australians loved it and still do. A school asked students to write letters to the show complaining apparently but otherwise most loved it according to dvd commentary
@@Hienric Oh, ok then. From what I have gotten in comments so far, it seems like most people actually really liked the episode both back then and in current days. Thanks for the clarification
It's the way America reports things. Classic American projection. A few hundred complaints represents an entire population in their journalists' heads, rather than the pettiest minority. No rational Australian could be offended by it because unlike those indoctrinated nutcase yanks we don't take ourselves seriously to begin with. (Having said that, there is plenty of that old world patriotism still around, but it's dwindling fast as the boomers die off. I don't see how any informed person in this day and age can take personal pride in the rock they were born on and the corrupt monkeys that pretend to govern it.)
Yeah, "Some Enchanted Evening" was supposed to be the first episode but wound up as the last episode of Season 1 instead. That's why it's the only episode without a couch gag, as it was meant to be the original standard opening that all the other episodes would then modify in some way.
Upon further research, there were at least a couple other episodes with no couch gag, but that it is still the correct reason why that particular episode didn't have one.
Im here from the VidIQ stream. Great video dude. I didn't even realize you have under 500 subs and under 40 views... i think this video needs some more time to get up in views cuz it's a really good video. Good job

I'm as old as the Simpsons. My dad showed me this when I was 6, and I was hooked, and I grew up on this best time ever! And then it became Family Guy and American dad. I love it ❤
For me, it went down hill approximately 2006-2007, when they switched to HD and it was all the hype, when I saw the first episode in this new style it ruined the Simpsons for me, never watched it since... a lot changed.
Yeah, according to many comments, Bart vs. Australia apparently wasn’t really as hated as it seemed. Australians actually seem to have really liked that episode despite the complaints that staff received
@@TheDizzyDan The episode was very well researched they did a very good job of an exaggerated version of Australian culture. At least that's how things were back when that episode come out.
For me the Simpsons took a nosedive around season 14/15. I think there are still some very funny episodes seasons 10-14 but once they switched to the new HD formatting I began to lose interest. The movie aired and it was hysterical but that following season which I believe was season 15 I can remember thinking ‘oh maybe it will be good again because the movie was’. It was a subpar season opener and from then on it stopped being this great big family affair where we would gather around to watch the new Simpsons episode. I stopped watching altogether by season 17 or 18. It’s crazy to know it’s still going on and I never thought I would stop no matter how bad it got since I grew up watching this show. Whenever it ends I will watch that final episode but I have no pull to catch up on all the episodes I missed over the years.
My favorite episode of the Simpsons (out of many) has to be "Homer vs the Eighteenth Admendment" (aka The Beer Baron episode). I watched the Simpsons up to around I think season 14. Skip ahead a good couple of years and the Simpsons movie came out (2007).
I did edit the video. I have not opened any comission service, but it does seem interesting. However, I do think there are some issues right now, such as making agreements in the public comment section, as well as payment difficulties due to my age. Also, I have no experience with doing commissions 😅
I heard that the newest seasons had a slight increase in quality. I sadly lag two season behind because here in Germany it always takes a while for shows to come out. But 33 already was pretty good! Or atleast much better then the seasons before or that
i watched the simpsons every sunday from from the time i was around 3-5 years old tell the time i was around 20 now i haven't watched TV in around 15 years
Dude! I love that song! It’s inspired by songs _like_ “I Want Her” by Keith Sweat, but not just that one. It’s made in the genre of New Jack Swing in general from the late ‘80s/early ‘90s, as it fits this part of the video and the theme of ‘Bartmania’ the most, not to mention that ‘Do the Bartman’ was composed in that same style. I also took inspiration from pieces like The Fresh Prince of Bel Air’s theme, along with several characteristic patterns from New Jack Swing.
Yeah. Although the Simpsons did receive those angry letters, I should’ve clarified that australians have accepted and laughed it off as typical american satire
I think the simpsons are sort of victims of their early success, because so many people completely shit on the more recent seasons and even I stopped watching them. But I recently started to watch those newer episodes and I have to say, even though they aren't anywhere close to the early seasons, I find them still much better than many other popular animated series. But because they set such high quality standards with their early seasons, the newer ones feel worse than they actually are
@maximilianmaier3950 In the case of the Simpsons, the last few seasons from 13-31 under Al Jean's management felt stale and in need of new blood by the time 31 rolled around. It's not coincidence that people started changing their stance on the show after Al Jean stepped back from the primary showrunner role.
I liked the simpsons before and I am very happy they are still there even if I dont usualy rewatch the newest episodes (if episode is realy good I will rewatch it), exept My Octopus and a Teacher, this one is one of the good ones from modern era Even if not all episodes are good Its still much easier if u can watch something familiar every year then its to having to learn all the characters again, and worst of all, when u get hooked they take it away I am afraid what will happen when actors for homer, lisa, bart die, could they ever replace them?
