He is an Oklahoma legend, and he deserves the title. his history is incredible. He is one of Elton John's greatest friends and infuences. The man Had a talent that was almost spiritual.
This gentleman, you name the group...singer...producer....he's played with them or for them; from the Crystals and Ronettes of the mid-60s to Clapton, George Harrison, Elton John, Badfinger...this man has done it all!!
I’ve loved Leon Russell since his first album came out. I’ve seen him in concert many times. Leon IS unique - there is no one like him. He was supremely talented, a musical child prodigy. He is deeply missed. Rest In Peace, Leon.
He made you smile at least a half dozen times. The man and his piano makes unmatched magic. Also the chick stirring the bowl is emily of his song sweet emily. Leon Russell was a crazy talent and wonderful human being. Love him always. 💕💕
No body can sing a Leon Russell song better than Leon himself. He was a classically trained concert pianist! Drove by his house every day for 5 years going to work in the early 70's
BEAUTIFUL!! I thought Donny Hathaway wrote & sang this song 1st & is 1 of my favorite songs. Once I realized Leon Russell wrote this song, I wanted to hear it. I've heard of him, but never heard him sing. I normally would never consider liking this, but I was stuck...on STUPID! I loved it! You don't have to think he sang well, but I felt every word. Amazing
Leon is beyond a Hall of Fame Songwriter! All would be shocked at the songs he’s written. Another beauty… Superstar - hit for The Carpenters and Luther Vandross
My mom said her friend worked in Tulsa, OK in a lighting co. He was to go over to Leon's house to do lighting issues and took his 16yr old son. They met Leon and he invited his son, who just started playing guitar to a local club, as Leon was playin there that evening. His son went with guitar, but couldnt get in cause he was 16. He was standing at the entrance, when a limo rolled up and McCartney, Harrison, and Clapton got out and walked in. Hell of a story. So close.
Thumbs up number six my sister! It’s very old! But nothing is like the original video. Back live performances was the music videos. He really sings from the diaphragm with all his soul. I love his raspy voice! His stage presence is very mysterious with those shades on indoors behind the piano. Talented is an understatement. Great research! A silent reaction but your facial expressions said it all.
Thank you for not stopping the video so you could talk. I understand that sometimes you have to break up a song into short parts so as to not violate copyright rules. This is my favorite Leon Russel song. If you listen to it 2-3 more times, you will begin to understand what it actually means. Have A BLESSED DAY.😎
Watch the video of Leon Russell being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Elton. It's a great oversight of the massive talent that anyone would hope to have as a musician. A true life-long master of song and sound. Definitely worth looking him up here on UA-cam.
You need to go listen to "Up on a tight rope" now cuz the style difference will blow your mind! Leon was one of the most under rated song writers of our generation! And good lookin... yes indeed
Leon started playing in illegal honky-tonks in Oklahoma when he was 14. I think the set is intended to replicate the environment of those days. My uncle owned one in a dry county In Arkansas. He hired Elvis before he was Elvis. It was a big nightclub but drinks were served in coffee cups to sustain the fiction that no alcohol was served.
This song is so beautiful but if you don’t watch Willie and Ray sing this to each other you are missing the beauty of it. I’m pretty sure it was one of Ray Charles last performances and it was written all over Willie Nelsons face. ❤️
He was a wonderful musician, and very underrated. He performed with a lot of other musicians of his day. I’m so glad you had the wisdom not to interrupt that masterpiece.
Hey I recommed reacting to Sequnce - ON FIRE it's the first Afghan rap boygroup group ever made and they are gaining lots of attention cause people keep comapring them to K-POP. I would love to see your reaction
A man of words. Pours out his heart through music.❤
One of the best songs ever written period.Miss you brother Leon.❤

He is much more than an Oklahoma legend. The 60's music revolution would not have happened without Leon. He was the master behind all of it.
You should check out Jesse Ed Davis if you haven't already. Another Oklahoma legend.

And Joe Cocker
Plus Phil Spector … Cher … The Wrecking Crew … Herb Alpert …. On and on
One of the greatest musicians of our times !!!!
Looking back at my long marriage, this song had me sobbing again. One of the greatest love songs ever.

Legend. RIP dear Leon.
I still miss Leon
Um talento, criativo, capaz e morre!😮
First time hearing him! Omg yessss! He's singing from his soul
Leon Russel wrote and sang this beautiful song, then Karen Carpenter did his song in her angelic voice. Many others have since covered this as well.
One of my favorites of all times. I was fortunate to see him at The Filmore East!

He actually said about this session that he was coming off of a string of shows and his voice was kinda ragged. But he’s wonderful anyway haha
He was and still the best.❤❤❤❤❤
Leon is beyond a Hall of Fame Songwriter! All would be shocked at the songs he’s written. Another beauty…
Superstar - hit for The Carpenters and Luther Vandross
My Masquerade - hit for George Benson

Was Top Hat, played multi instrumentalist, sang, wrote words and music, a triple triple.. Stevie Winwood another.. recorded... Wrecking Crew.
Toy Story music was by Randy Newman whose background was from New Orleans, as was Leon's, so good catch there!
He is from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tulsa music scene was a huge influence on his life! His studio is still here!
1 of the best !
Watch him on Mad Dogs and Englishmen too 👌

Never heard him before he came out strong
🤠 y'all will have to excuse me, I have a few tears to wipe away.
I’m here watching ya hun ❤️
Nice mama. Khub valolagche
Leon's version's great and all, but the Donny Hathaway version kills it.
Leon was a great songwriter. That one was good enough that Ray Charles used it as one of his calling cards live.
My favorite artist and song of all time. This video is part of the Homewood Sessions. Check them out. You will be glad you did.

I'm just glad you're not out carjacking or otherwise robbing someone.
