I just got my 1st ZRX! I found your channel while dreaming of finding one to build. Your earlier video walk around of your bikes inspired me to finally get one. Well let’s say you and James Compton. Love the videos!!
Thank you so much... Congratulations on getting a ZRX..!! they are great bikes and may I wish you health to enjoy yours.!! Only thing ......,hope my recent crop of videos doesn't prompt you to pull your engine out and dismantle it....😂 Stay tuned for more.. God bless BG.
When i modify a tension-er i also cut the tip of the chain guide at an angle, so it can't catch the clutch basket. The original kawa tension-er design it pretty bad. And they used it for more than 20 years. Again a very good video.👍
Another fascinating video, thanks, Brian. I changed out my ZRX1200R tensioner a while back with the James Compton upgraded one, certainly a necessary a very worthwhile job to do on these wonderful engines (and preferably fitted well before potentially destroying the mighty ZRX engine 😉) money well spent I'd say 😊👍🏴
I fitted a Expensive lightweight stuff one on my zl900 several years back. good results. Today my Compton one arrived for the zrx1200. looks great. Brian you know your stuff on this engine. Check the wear on your guide it may be used up.
Kawasaki should have recalled and fixed this tensioner issue. Mine let go and destroyed my clutch costing thousands to fix. Zrx owners beware fix it or in time it will fail. I fitted James Comptons tensioner with great results for very little money.
I'm going to check my clutch tensioner again put my new one in but I'm hearing a lot of chatter chatter chatter... Do I need to drain the oil to remove the clutch basket again?
Not necessary...,just put your bike in its side stand.. You will get "some" drips etc ...,but you will retain 99.9% of the oil Don't forget you'll need a new clutch cover gasket though..
@@brianwells5258 remember my clutch basket exploded.. the bike starts real good power is there. But I'm hearing tick tick... I'm going to take off my valve cover off see what I can see.. any loose parts.. or check my clutch basket again?.

Hi what make and model is your engine stand
I hate those e-clips and the idea of one inside my motor.. no way. Ended up welding it in place
