  • I've always loved dogs, but my friends Jenny Mollen and Jason Biggs are what you might call obsessed. They're devoted dog parents and dedicated animal rescue and adoption supporters. I wanted to learn more about how these two became so passionate about rescuing animals, and of course, meet their dog, the legendary Gina Marie (who is fifteen years old and has a mind of her own!), so I went down to the West Village and spent a dog day afternoon with my pals.
If you too are passionate about animal rescue and adoption, check out the amazing work our partners at Mars are doing in partnership with PEDIGREE Foundation and learn how you can help support their mission of ending pet homelessness. I do animal rescue. Our tiny little (non-profit, 501-c-3) group in southern Colorado (PAWSitive Reaction) loves that you support and advocate for all the dogs out there in need of loving homes!! Mutts are THE Best!

    That dog has wonderful parents.
I laughed so much I am of the belief that I now have a Hernia.
My darling Husband last week arrived home with a huge box.
There was a chow chow puppy who I named Bally Roe.
Today I ordered 2 beds one downstairs one upstairs.

Good luck with Bally Roe! I had a chow named Bear who I loved like crazy. He was already two years old when I got him and bonded with his original owner, so it was quite a job making him part of the family lol. Chows are known for loving to escape and follow a scent, but he became the most loving, loyal dog I've ever had, not to men!mention the most beautiful! Anyway this was a wonderful show and I hope Katie does more of them. Again I hope you have many wonderful years with Bally Roe. Have a great day!

Thank you for your kind words.
I am beyond besotted with my Bally Roe he has softened my Heart 💟 forever.
Your Bear sounds like a sweet heart.
We attended a wedding out of town and I hired a baby sitter to be with our puppy, most of our friends think this is truly hysterical.
To which I reply "You do you and I shall do Me!"
      His face is so beautiful.
When my Husband and I were first dating his dog Rosie was sick so I hired a baby sitter to keep a look out and administer medication. Carter told me it was very hysterical and he married me despite my weirdness.

@@nartarlyiatremaynne1239 It’s always the dog’s face that gets me lol. Like people, I guess it’s what makes them unique. I’m American but living in Austria and we’re in the city in Vienna, so I’ve given up on having a dog for a while. I sure miss having one though! Take care and enjoy your beautiful pooch!

Ummmmm, sorry, but our little CoCo was the princess of Pomerania. Pom/Yorkie mix, we had her until she was 17. She loved going to both grandparents. My husband’s folks lived on a farm, and my folks belonged to a yacht club. CoCo loved both and would spin in the back seat until we arrived. Every year we rented the same cabin, the last year we had her, she had gone blind. When we arrived at the cabin, I lifted her out of the car and she knew exactly where she was. I told her “c’mon, let’s get inside” she walked all the way from the car, to her bed in the cabin. She hadn’t been there since the year before. We lost her in 2008 and still miss her. She was the only one who knew the secret language of Pomerania, which is Bookanese. When we were thinking about what to do about her ashes, we both thought the only place she’d want to be was running around outside her cabin, and hiding in her blanket watching a campfire every night. So that’s where she is, we’d like to think people who rent the cabin catch a glimpse of her from time to time, trying to get them to chase her.

Loved this video. So entertaining. However, there is no guarantee that a dog is hypoallergenic. this is something to think about when looking for a dog at a breeder or a shelter. Probably the smartest thing to do to test for allergies is to foster, take the dog home and keep for a few days to a few weeks. That is the only true test for whether a human is allergic to a dog. Unfortunately it's a fallacy that a dog with hair verses a dog with fur is going to be a guarantee that the prospective owner will be allergy free.

Katie, I too am a critter lover but at 58 really got slammed with neuromuscular disease... hard. Over last 5yrs things got worse and Neuro( now retired) said ditch the dogs which when you are dealing with losing livelihood, ability to go to museums, festivals and possible all independence while being told don't know what it is but there is no treatment.
Over last 20 mos have fought my way to presumptive diagnosis of myasthenia gravis because mestinon has helped breathing, swallowing, walking. Problem is that I am still at major risk of respiratory failure and major falls. There is a huge gap of service for homed rescue dogs if human has an "event" taking them out of home for a while. Hospice Hearts will help if you go into Hospice and rehome them, shelters will take them and rehome them or put them down, dog kennels will not come get dog ( try planning your life altering events so you can reserve and drop off please) Big dog warns off anyone coming near house or me since I have become so haven't asked neighbors, most of whom not spoken to in 2.5 yrs. I know I am statistical outlier on disease process but know I can't be the only person in the pet pickle

There are many breed specific rescues also. They will often pick up, transport, foster, give vet care, and screen potential new families. Please seek them out or ask someone to search for you. Take care.

@@ruthstonecipher2503 I don't want to give dogs up!!! I am just trying to find options incase things go very bad with the Myasthenia Gravis. These are rescue dogs of mixed breed, not a desirable ( to others) . With this disease it is possible to have to be in hospital on vent with illnesses as mucles of respiration can abruptly stop working, then it might not happen for another decade. Again, I am not wanting to surrender, need options if I have to be in hospital.

Wait a sec. You're walking with a toy dog and you have no water for it on you? You have to have a small back pack with poop bags, some paper towels for clean up if needed, water, some treats -- if you're on a half day outing. Oh man!!
