I am glad this interview was done. As a SoCal resident for 35 years, I saw Ms. Buss in the media, but never knew much about her. She seems such an authentic person in spite of her wealth and iconic place in LA sports!
I was born in 97 a year after he was drafted so all I knew was Kobe and the Lakers. When he retired I was sad because I wasn't gonna be able to watch him anymore but when he died I swear it felt like my family member died.
Yeah the day I found out Kobe was in a helicopter crash and I got the news him and his daughter didn’t make it I was in tears and like my family is a huge lakers fan and they didn’t know what happen and for a minute I wanted to not tell them the bad news and just go on with the day but I decided to tell them and our hearts dropped and my family was in tears like we don’t know Kobe but we felt like he was a family member we cared about and watch every game and watch every interview he was in and we won’t get that next interview but we do miss Kobe
RIP legend. It’s amazing seeing how team owners still really need a team around them. It trickles down from the top to the bottom. What will you leave behind when someone else takes your place
Even those who knew nothing about basketball and the NBA knew about Kobe and that he was a once in a generation talent and a great human being. He was one of the very few NBA stars to completely transcend the sport and become a global icon. Gosh, even now it feels odd and painful to have to use the word 'was' to talk about Kobe.
I always think to myself how I was just a 31 year old Brit who grew up playing basketball games, playing a couple games on the court, was lucky enough to watch Kobe drop 30 against the Wizards when I lived in DC, and I was inconsolable for 2-3 days when he died. I just can't fathom what it must have been like for Jeanie Buss and the City of LA to have to go through something like that and come out of it on the other side. The shock of it all and the brutal reality of thinking "wait Kobe died in a helicopter crash? And his daughter?" An Unspeakeable Unthinkable tragedy.
Ive never felt so sad and messed up inside for someone I didnt know. Grew up watching “that little Laker boy” grow to be one of the best of all time! 💜💛🐍💪😔#lakernationforever #mambamentality #LA #liveforeverchamp
I was on a buffet restaurant on LA with the family after church, when that accident happen. I thought my uncle was joking around then I checked on CNN and it broke me I couldn't play basketball, workout, and talk to others.
I always thought it was magic that got the goat to come to la I should have known it was the mamba tho you could tell on the redeem team bron was the only one Kobe saw as an equal. This was really cool to see. I uses to love the micd up shorts it would show of Kobe and bron they were so funny together.
Jeanie is a product of nepotism that is rampant in pro sports but she does seem genuine and puts the organization's people before her. I can respect that.
What you talking about just think of the courage it took Lebron to say that speech and hold himself together. He is 100 times the person you are ,have some respect.
@@Jay123-m9f True Kobe fans know how Lebron and Kobe felt about each other. Lebron never dared to throw shade on Kobe while they were both in the league. Once Kobe retired he started throwing shade.
@LJ_824 at the end of the day they were friends sure there was probably abit of competition(bravado)underneath all that as they among the best players ever.Kobe was a big reason Lebron came to the Lakers .I am a Spurs fan but the day I gained immense respect for lebron was when he said that speech when all us were looking for something after kobes death.I guarantee 💯 behind the scene lebron was helping people with his words in the Lakers building during that time .Anyways respect to you have LJ and 8/24 in your tag perhaps just reconsider your position and what lebron had to deal with as a leader during that time.
Hell yes he fcking did. Goat James don't need to be there before he recruit AD and all the clowns to play with him. No way Dwight and all those Lance Stevenson will be the together.
Great owner and incredible woman..
Incredible interview.
She really comes through as a genuine caring human being.

It took me days after Kobe died to accept and finally let out a cry. He was amazing and really a superhero to me growing a diehard laker fan
