Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
A rare movie that lives up to its hype. Unfortunate that it is only available in 3D as a pricey import from Japan. It really is a must see in stereo. If you ever get a chance to see this in 3D at a theatre you will want to take the opportunity.
I didn't realize it but Sam Raimi hasn't directed a feature film since Oz the Great and Powerful from nine years ago. Which was also in 3D.
If you haven't had enough of the 3D Madness here are some more 2D to 3D comparisons: • 3D Extra: Dr Strange i...
Staring:
Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - voice of dragon, The Fifth Estate, The Imitation Game)
Elizabeth Olsen (Godzilla, Sorry for Your Loss, Age of Ultron) she is not one of the Olsen twins from Full House but is their younger sister.
Benedict Wong (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Gemini Man, The Martian)
Xochitl Gomez (The Baby-Sitters Club, Shadow Wolves)
Rachel McAdams (Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Mean Girls, and a dozen romance movies from the last twenty years)
Have Fun!

Fabulous review, as always. What a joyous 3D experience this one is. I think you'll enjoy the stereo in Oz TGAP just as much, look forward to your video on that one hopefully soon. As you point out here, MoM is full of lots of "translucent and floaty" stuff, excellent for 3D - but I'd have thought a real challenge for your Wiggle software, but it seemed to do an impressive job of handling it all. And, that musical fight scene, one of the MCU's great stereo sequences, absolutely magical.
I really gotta order this! And, still hoping for a new review from you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@WaverBoy I third that motion!
The first Strange on blu ray 3D is a masterpiece!
Great review, I think I will invest based on your honest review, expensive month ahead...
Glad Marvel have been continuing with 3D and Japan have continued giving us ways to own.
Great review by the way 😉😎
I really hope Sam Raimi is allowed to do the next sequel
I bought the NEX 4K from Amazon Japan, only took 3 days to arrive to me in England. It contains the 2D BluRay, the 3D BluRay and the UHD 4K, all marked Region A but all played Region B no problem. The 2D is great, if you can’t afford to import the other versions and buy just the 2D BluRay from your local store, you should still be happy with this transfer. The UHD has lots of HDR moments, fluorescent reds, blues and even lime green sparkle. The UHD is the only one with Dolby Atmos which is a shame as even with an Atmos TV the soundstage is immersive. The 3D is a better offering from Marvel than Spider-Man No Way Home, for comparison, but I was suffering from. eye strain half way through- I can only put this down to too many 3D elements happening at once in the fight scenes, (and this played on projector). If you enjoyed the 3d musical notes flying through the air, Kraftwerk did it first on their 3D BluRay(Atmos) called ‘3D/The Catalogue’.
I'll look out for Kraftwerk, I've been wanting to watch more of the 3D music blu-rays. Thanks for sharing your experience.
@@gofindfun The Kraftwerk disc is well worth adding to your collection. Not that many 3D music videos out there, probably the easiest to find is “Metallica - Through The Never’ and ‘Kylie Minogue - Aphrodite’. I would also recommend ‘George Michael - Live In London’ which only comes as 2D BluRay but it is full screen and it does capture the atmosphere of a live concert better than most.
The Nex, i cannot find it... any link or tips? Thanks

Great review. I didn't realize Sam Raimi did that Oz movie either. Now I'm kind of interested in checking that one out... and you're right, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness would be fascinating 3D conversions considering how Raimi already has a habit of using camera angles that lend themselves to 3D. I'll check out the extra addendum review now.
I haven't heard great things about the movie itself. But the 3D has garnered a great reputation. And judging by what you've presented in the video, this'll probably be worth picking up one day. About Oz the Great Powerful, I saw it recently and it had incredible 3D. I actually reviewed it recently.
And a pleasure it is to read your 3D reviews. Literacy is becoming a lost art. Those who can still read need check it out at: the3ddinosaur.wixsite.com/mysite/post/oz-the-great-and-powerful-3d-blu-ray-review
I saw this in dolby 3d and thought the 3d was very bad. Not much pop out or anything. Was disappointed
Interesting, not what i would have guessed. Though I did feel that no way home looked better in 3D at home than when i saw it at a theater.
@@gofindfun oh cool what did u watch no way home on at home is there a 3d DVD
Yes it comes from random space in Australia. Sadly it's region B only.
@@gofindfun oh sad
@@gofindfun thank you very much for all the fantastic 3d reviews and for the hint with the random space shop, I think I will order Spider-Man and Doolittle from there to Europe, missed this 3d Releases
It's a shame, newer 3d movies are so hard to get nowadays. Like I love watching older MGM musical films and Warner Archives blurays are so expensive and only available through import. The same happened with 3d films recently. They now put a "bonus" dvd instead of the 3d Blu-ray in the box and hope Nobody will notice 😁
We're living large at the bleeding end of technology.
Get cheap original discs (new or used) from UK or UE countries (if they contain English) and a region B used 3D player for 50/70+h&s
I'm pretty pissed there are modern movies, made in 3D, but no 3D BRs for about 98% of them, except Asia, like WTF!? 😅
Financialy this doesn't make sense, if 3D realy is a flop, why produce them at all?
As a German living in Germany it's kinda difficult to get some things, some are even impossible.
I was able to get GvK in 3D, US import, from the UK, kinda cheap.
Besides of that, only "Avatar 2" was released here in 3D as something new, including the Remaster of the 1st one.
@@eldritchmorgasm4018 if you're from Germany and you're looking for older 3d Blu-ray's online, medimops is the place to go. Btw, I wasn't able to get my hands on Godzilla vs Kong import for a good price, glad you did! 😁
The Dr. Strange Sequel where Dr. Strange is a costar.
Why was it only released in Japan?
Yes, as was all Marvel 3D movies from Black Widow onwards.
Oh you asked why. Sorry I misread. I don't know. I do know 3D has a very strong community there so its reasonable to believe they see a unique market there.
Also, world-wide, I've heard there's an issue with declining availability of blu-ray stamping facilities. Including an extra 3D disc is not as cheap and trivial as it was ten years ago. But, again, this is just rumour.
Incidentally China also has a strong 3D following but unlike Japan they prefer domestic movies. Still there are a few Western releases you can only get from Hong Kong.
Excellent review! Now I REALLY gotta order this! Loved the first film in 3D, and I don’t like many Marvel movies, only some of the standalone ones.
Does this have an English option?
It includes the English audio. The menu is only in Japanese though.
@@gofindfun nice! Its English audio for both the 4k and 3d right?
I've never watched the 4k disc. Would be weird if it didn't.
@@gofindfun other country discs can be weird like that
