When in Kashmir, Sonmarg is the perfect destination for a surreal getaway in the lap of the Himalayas. Literally translated, ‘Sonmarg’ means ‘Meadow of Gold’.
Situated just before the Zojii La pass, it is the gateway to Ladakh and
abound with natural beauty and surrounded with pristine glaciers and gushing rivers, this destination is nothing short of a paradise itself.
And after a demanding trek to Tulian Lake, today I want to take it a little easy. So in Sonmarg I've decided to put my feet up. We'll treat ourselves with a river side glamping experience, have a leisurely walk in the last village of Kashmir, enjoy rajma chawal with some epic views and just chill around in the countryside.
Whether you are someone who enjoys challenging treks or just looking to unwind from the busy city life, Sonmarg has something for every kind of traveler.

We missed Kashmir trip due to first lock down during April 2020...Waiting to visit Sonmarg....Want to have a relaxed visit to Kashmir with no hurryburry...Its good to spend more time in these divine destinations....Also, feel very proud that both of you (you and Sheen Riverside Lodges owner) lived in my city ie Bangalore. The majestic beauty of Sonmerg, no doubt, is beyond words to describe..The snow clad mountains reflect a scintillating galaxy of colours during morning as well as sunset .. .. At the same time crystal clear water flowing in the pristine and serene Sindhu river is likely to attract tourists.And as rightly said by the host that the smile on the faces of innocent children and locals speak volumes of their lovable and hospitable nature is very true... .No doubt your solo trip hinges on to a un- conventional place reveals a different perspective of its rich cultural and social traditions prevalent there.. I really love to do Kashmir trip this time..I mean slow travel. 🐌 I am completely agreeing with u. Slow travel is best. I also not into very much sight seeing stuffs. Love to explore the place by sitting at one place for a longer time and then hike sometimes. Love your every video. The way you show off beat places nobody does that. Slow pace video with elaborate narration with no hurry. BTW Love ur backpack😊
