    I just bought that bike. I’ve owned the the 2008 990r the 1st Gen 1290r and a 2020 and 2021 Gen 3 1290r. The 890r Duke fun factor is over the top. Out of the box It handle better than any bike I have ever owned. Don’t get me wrong I still love my 1290r just as much for its incredible motor and good handling. But the 890r Duke takes handling to a new level. Plus if you put the Akra exhaust from power parts on it sound better than my 1290r with the full Akra exhaust. Great bike. Go out and test ride one I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

    Had a 2020 yr model. Great handling bike. The ride was rock hard. Sprocket seal failed before it was run in. Just traded it in for a s1000r. Best decision ever

My brother has the KTM 890 Adventure R and we plan to do a trip to our home state of New Mexico next year, with as much as possible on back/dirt roads. It'll be a fun camping trip.

    Hopefully the new 990 version due at some point will enjoy the same upgrade in finish just bestowed upon the 390 and as per the 1290, replacing the Fisher Price quality stickers with proper decals under a lacquer. Only a small detail, but really lets the bike down.

      Owned 2x 890Rs & never had any electrical issues. Only issue I've had is a slight weep from the rocker cover on my 2nd one, fixed under warranty (never had any issues with the 1st)
      Used both bikes for approx 12-13k hard miles between them.
      No keyless ignition on the 890 range, which I believe does cause some headaches on the 1290 range.

    • @mikey_bb
      @mikey_bb 9 місяців тому

      No real electronic issues with the 790/890 range.
      QS issues generally come from people setting the chain tension incorrectly - the actual QS/blipper is sweet.
      The charging extra for options is becoming a very common thing across ALL manufacturers, both in the car & bike world.

    If you film the dash with your camera set to the fastest frame rate it will stop the annoying strobing effect.
    You might have to go to a 200 fps "slow mo" setting on some cameras.

    • @UsernameKate
      @UsernameKate  Рік тому +1

      I need to learn how to stop it. It's on the agenda 😊

    • @Omar-kw5ui
      @Omar-kw5ui Рік тому +1

      You don't need the fastest frame rate. Just choose a frame rate (or shutter speed) equal to the lighting pulse divided by some integer. Recording at 200fps is rediulous for storage and editing purposes. For example if you record at 30fps. 30 * 4 = 120hz. Or if the screen in 60hz, 30 * 2 = 60hz. So 30 fps would work.

    • @wizrom3046
      @wizrom3046 Рік тому

      @@Omar-kw5ui ... yes the frame rate can be lower than the display multiplex rate, but that doesnt always work.
      Ultimately it will depend on what the display multiplex rate is on that particular bike.
      Also, filming the dash for 20 seconds at 200fps is totally acceptable, you dont need to do an entire 20 minute video at 200fps lol

    • @Omar-kw5ui
      @Omar-kw5ui Рік тому

      The logical solution is to adjust the frame rate and shutter speed in small increments until the artefact is gone, not to ramp it up to 200fps. She filmed the display for 200 seconds not 20. So you're proposing 200fps at 1080p for 200 seconds. With a compact video compression standard like H.264, you would be looking at a file size of around 20gb. Shooting uncompressed, you would be looking at a file size of between 250gb to 320gb. That's not including the rest of the video. So yes, it is ridiculous to film in "slow mo" just to make the artefacts go away when you can do the same thing much more efficiently. This will save her time moving the files off the camera, allow her to fit the whole video on one memory card, save her time editing and exporting the video. @@wizrom3046

    Although this bike does not shout out K'om T'o M'e, I do find it aggreable to look at. Pity that it is only available in "Peacock" as without having to think long, I do know 2 people who don't like blue, and add me to them, than we already have 3. So it might be difficult to sell it in big numbers. However, it does offer a lot for the price, and if one has a bike to trade in, then anything could happen with those sales statistics, especially considering the large and still growing fan-basis that KTM seems to have in UK.
    As i've already said somewhere else on your channel, you could really sell your Dad's very last pair of boots to Mr. R. Sunak to drive his enorm Merc with! You have an enormous personality and likeable way of doing your job, that despite any sort of weather, always shines through, but despite all that, i'm afraid,,, "i'm out"!
    Now, where was I...? Oh yes, dribbling over that V-Strom prospect! You know, the 1050DE, the big bad boy with the fabulous colour schemes. But I will be back when you do your "final thoughts" video on this 890 Duke before you it give back, see ya.
