Shawnee State Park is located in southern Ohio near Friendship. Its where i first discovered my love of camping and the outdoors. The park is surrounded by 60,000 acres of state forest, which is the largest state forest in Ohio. It was once a hunting ground for the Shawnee Indians; which is where it gets its name. The park has two lakes for fishing, boating and swimming. 40 miles of backpacking trails, and 75 miles of bridle trails.
It is where i have filmed some of my videos in the past, and will again in the future.

This was the first video i filmed using my GoPro Hero 4. I apologize for the unsteadiness of the camera, and video quality. I am still getting used to it, and will make the necessary adjustments to provide a better viewing experience in the future. Also, i crashed my drone in this video so i will have to order a new one for future videos. Complete bummer, but it was pilot error and totally my fault. An expensive mistake, but a lesson learned.

Back in the early 90's we took our kids to Shawnee. Back then the cabins had no air conditioning. Boy was it hot and humid. Walking back to the cabin one night from the pool we were greeted by a very large family of skunks hanging out on our porch. We had to wait quite awhile for them to leave. We did have a great time. One other night we had a story teller and singer come to a group campfire. He was a great story teller, and he sang "Dead skunk in the middle of the road stinkin to high heaven."

Yes it is, and you are correct while the area is often attributed to the Shawnee Indians. It overlapped with Cherokee territory as well. Thank you for watching I hope to make more videos around the park again soon.

Mom and dad used to take us kids, in the 70's, every summer to Roosevelt Lake to cook out and swim. Great memories there.

I used a Xiro Explorer in this video. I liked it a lot, but actually crashed it filming this video..i'm flying a DJI Mini right now, and i'm really happy with the upgrade. I recommend either, but prefer the Mini.

Turkey Creek my brothers would actually slide down that water fall. I was too scared. We used to catch crawdads in the creek.
