    Finally, someone else added the scanning feature, so you don’t need the separate Scan n Cut machine. Plus a stitch regulator!!! So it does quilting. And a huge hoop! No way my hubby will let me buy this, lol. Ahhh,retirement.

    Nice that it has an integrated stitch regulator, but why does it still come with the BSR foot? At least that is what I read in “What coms in the box” section of the brochure. Oh and I’m so glad they dropped the crazy bobbin system that was in the B880 and how that has to be threaded differently from regular stitching to embroidery……Good planning engineers at Bernina…you rock.

    • @EllicottCitySewVac
      @EllicottCitySewVac  3 місяці тому +3

      The standard BSR can still be used in case you want to use the straight stitch plate. The integrated BSR requires a 5.5mm zigzag plate.

      @@EllicottCitySewVac Why didn't they just skip the separate BSR foot and make the integrated BSR work with both plates, limiting the straight stitch plate to just the straight stitch? Would save $1000 off that ridiculous machine price!

    • @kaygee8343
      @kaygee8343 2 місяці тому +1

      @@bluedeva Well, yeah, it does allow someone to "actually sew for themselves". What you saw was the machine in embroidery mode. Because they're (Bernina Corp.) marketing to the segment of the home sewing population that shells out the most money. Those being quilters. The "quilting" that was shown was done using embroidery software. That stated, this machine isn't geared to or for garment sewists. It's a beautiful machine, but way more (imo) sewing machine than garment sewists need. Just a thought.

      It's 22,990. And if not for the "average" home crafter, then who? That's what the Bernina Credit Card is for, I'm guessing. Not that I would take the plunge, but no one blinks when a guy lays out thousands of dollars for saws and tools and such. To each, their own. And Happy Sewing.

      I have a local sewing machine guy who repairs every brand there is they’ve been a primarily Janome dealer. Problem with the brothers according to him was when you get inside to the guts of the machine where Janome and Bernina and Elna have metal mechanisms and are created to possibly be your last machine regardless of what stage it was created in, the brother machines are not made as well.

  • @pk-xc2em
    @pk-xc2em 3 місяці тому

    I'll write a serious comment instead of a bunch of meaningless snot. The most important thing is that the machine has a hook system from the 7 Series, which is very, very cool, since the hook system of the previous top-end 8 Series was crap. If you are completely out of the loop, then yes, the 7x series were really better than the 8x series. It took *only 12 years for Bernina to pull head out of a*s and make a top-end system based on the 7x hook system. Be that as it may, this is an absolute step forward. 7x hook + hoop A3, this is the bomb. The built-in BSR turns any foot into a computer-assist, this is good, just not all BSR have been used, for example, in 12 years I have never used it. Owners of 7x machines can jump for joy, all our junk bought for crazy money will work on 9x. Everything else is whimsical stuff that doesn’t deserve serious attention. Is it worth upgrading from the 7 or 8 series to the 9 series? I think so, responsible users of the 7x did not upgrade to the 8x precisely because it were defective. For 8x users who are not familiar with the advantages of the 7x, new horizons will open up :) I’ll write a few words about the shortcomings. Bernina also in the 9x inserted a useless, broken piece of sh*t called an auto-threader. This crap shouldn’t be there at all, it will be cheaper and better. Bernina for 12 years has never made an absolutely necessary set of magnetic hoops (let's be honest, Bernina's quick-release hoop system is crap), but built in a laser, a camera, and a scanner, without which normal people managed just fine. The price is insane, even if we take Europe, for this money you can buy a top-end industrial embroidery machine with a hoop 1.5м diagonal
