- Ten years on from the death of her superstar husband, Rita Marley discusses Bob's legacy and her relationship with the most influential figure in reggae and world music. Rita reveals that Bob Marley never made a will, and on his deathbed told her he assumed all future royalties would go to Rita and the children, unaware of the litigious struggle that Rita would be forced to endure following his premature death in 1981.

I love her. A woman of grace, humbleness and strength. She used to ride her bicycle in Trench Town during the early years selling Bob’s records when he was a nobody, that’s how much she believed in him. Rita was there from the beginning to the end and has carried on his legacy since his death. She truly loved BOB! The Empress of the Marley legacy!

After reading Rita’s autobiography “No Woman No Cry: My Life With Bob Marley” I left with so much respect for her. Rita you are truly the backbone and foundation of Bob Marley and the family, which is why you’ll forever be the Queen. No Bob without Rita!

They forget that. She was with Bob during the 60s in the early Wailers when it was just Bob, Bunny and Peter doing harmonies on a lot of the early stuff. I remember reading Rita used to be heavily pregnant with Bob in the studio working alongside him. She knows the struggle of grinding with him from the beginning.

I always knew that Bob Marley was a chosen one, and to see his mom admitting it in an interview is awesome. His near death experience 1976 triggered his spiritual awakening and he went into isolation in London. He produced Exodus when he was awakened✨💫 not everyone will understand this, but those who know will do✨💫👑

A very significant interview. Rita Marley is just reflecting what we, in India, believe about re- incarnation philosophy. Science has also supported this, as well as the experiences of the people. Feelings transmitted through lyrics & sung are as much relevant today as they were when he rendered. As a lover of Reggae music and the principles those compositions express, i am too glad to learn from the interview that the Family of the Marleys have been keeping alive their genre of music. Let me also compliment the Jamaican government for their efforts. In fact, the Afro- Carribbean governments, all the governments of Black Africa and those of the Caribbean, must collectively preserve the heritage of links between the two continents.
