A few years ago a co-worker of mine who was mixed, had a gorgeous head of hair. It was a pretty sandy brown. She would wear it straight and it would look like a pack of kanekalon 😂. She recently had a daughter and the next thing you knew she came into work with her hair curly, and I was shocked. She told me that if she was uncomfortable wearing her hair curly how could she expect her daughter to be comfortable wearing her hair curly. Meanwhile, none of my co-workers saw my hair EVER! I hid it under wigs and weaves. God really used her to help push me out of my shell. I wanted to be unashamed of what God provided me with but I wasn’t quite ready yet, so I got loc extensions. Fast forward… I am going on 7yrs locked, and I cut all of the extensions off several mo ago. There was something about having another persons hair attached to me that made me feel like I wasn’t fully walking in confidence in who God made me. I also stoped wearing fake nails. I get more compliments on my natural nails than ever. (Collagen is key 👍🏽). I will still throw on some cluster lashes or press on toe nails for convenience but Im almost over that too. I cant tell you how free I feel not having to worry about it all. Not to mention some human hair is sacrificed to other (false) Gods and come with some spiritual implications. Long story short seek God about everything. Your clothes, hair, nails, and yes; even your weave.lol

I heard that a good rule of thumb for modesty is to not have the garments cling to the cup of your buttock and/or breast. Basically the garment should fall away from you rather than cling. I admit I still struggle with this.lol I find myself tying a shirt around my waist nowadays more often than not, so Ive been in the market for wide-leg or straight-leg pants and jeans. Elastic waists help a lot too. As far as tops or dresses, I like to make sure there is a thicker strap and not a spaghetti strap if sleeveless, and the line of my cleavage must not show at all. I’m also starting to desire better quality/thicker fabrics. Banana Republic Factory has been my go to lately. To all who are on this modesty journey with me, I hope this helps!

I felt the conviction enough to suddenly get up and take a bag to fill it with all items in my closet that wasn’t modest. He will meet you where you are while continuing to change you.

I feel very convicted wearing weave and make up. I definitely look better and attract more men with it. I'm not comfortable with wearing something on my head sacrificed to idols. I'm still trying to stop wearing make up. I'm thinking I'm finally done with weave. I can't accept this "He looks at your heart" everytime we don't like what He says. We have to grow. Well, I won’t give a full argument on this but, God starts out to show love and mercy to us, letting us know that He accepts and brings us into His Kingdom as we are; after a season of caring for us, He introduces us gradually to who He really is through the writing of His Word. He wants us to receive it as a Child and all through the Bible- from the old testament to the New Testament the Bible speaks about proper dress for God’s children, and it also states what look or garment should not be on us. Certain things are an abomination unto him to be seen upon our bodies.. he has to look down upon us so he cares about what we look like on outside. We are not to take Paul’s writing or Peter’s writing and get extra intelligent about it and create a different paradigm to be a friendly version of how to be transformed. The Lord has spoken to me about my dressing which I thought was no problem. he has spoken to my mom about her dressing for work- that she should get out of pants and wear a skirt like he desires for all his daughters. He cares about what we put on our bodies and he does not want us to imitate the fashions of this world.
Why does God want her to wear a skirt vs pants? You didn’t give much context behind it so it sounds solely like an opinion. Also I’m not saying God didn’t speak to your mother but maybe that was specific to her. I just don’t see how anything biblically is telling women they all have to wear skirts and can’t wear pants. Sounds a bit religious.
In hindsight with gender exchange, it makes ALOT of sense why Paul did not want us wearing male clothing. Not to mention, I used to get so much vaginal infections or odors when I wore pants (sorry I know it's TMI). The breathing down there is nice. I only wear pants now on occasion

@@kyeshaap2474- I’m not sure if you have the HolySpirit guiding your life, but your confusion and stiff neck, comes out because you are trying to be of this world and Godly at the same time which produces confusion. The Bible says it’s a difference between men’s and women’s clothing and God calls it an abomination when a gender crosses over to wear the other’s clothing. Just as much as God clearly identifies what is the confusion, you come and bring your worldly point of view to the body of Christian discussion. You are not circumcised yet and it’s hard for you to listen to God is revealing to those who are truly surrendering their lives to follow Him. There are plenty of testimonies on UA-cam that share how Jesus told them to get out of pants as a woman. Most Pastors have given themselves to popular demand of society and they have their popular reward now and will be rejected later. They don’t want to suffer backlash now for speaking all the Bible, but they even marry divorced people and cause them to be in adultery for a lifetime, just not hurt their feelings 😮. So that’s why you don’t hear this topic in 98 percent of churches. Do the research for America dress in the 1930’s and you will know what men & women are supposed to wear 😎. Grew up in a Haitian Pentecostal church, and it was the same way for me. The women also had to wear a head covering when we entered. As a kid, I kinda hated it, but now I find it beautiful. I miss the lace head coverings we wore, the church services that had a certain reverence for God, and the beauty of worship.

When I go to Ross I will pick the flowy maxi skirt before the fitted one. , So how can a women have the holy spirit with fitted tight body hugging dresses? I dont think Jesus is gonna wear skinny or ripped jeans cause that is the only thing on sale,. It best to wear flowy dress,, we can be stylish without being frumpy, boxy or old. .
