- In 1999 the Backstreet Boys released ‘I want it the way’ which would go on to become the band signature tune and one of the most iconic songs of the nineties.

Smooth/Santana (unfairly) won the Grammy for Song and Record of the Year over this classic song because NARAS/The Recording Academy loves a “comeback” (see Bonnie Raitt, Natalie Cole, etc)…in any case, another great job…thanks Jonny!
