19 years ago my wife took me to my first drive-in movie. It was our first date and we went to see Underworld. As the movie started it began to rain. It was magical. They kept the movie going despite the weather. Since it was difficult to see through the windshield we had to occupy our time with conversation. We got to know each other a lot more than people normally would on a first date and I believe it really helped me relax around her enough to just be myself. 2 years later we were married and we're still together. I looked it up and the UK and France have high degree of caution ratings because their own governments warn against terrorism. They are targeted more than most countries because unlike North America they are much more accessible than crossing an ocean, and terror attacks have just as high an impact when done on these two nations. It also considers covid restrictions, but it’s the terrorism threat that puts it over the edge for both countries. This also explains why Belgium is the same level, due to the attacks on places like Brussels. So, Canada and the USA are simply reciprocating the warnings that the UK & France have implemented, they don’t actually think they’re more problematic in general 😅
It's quite strange to rank it as less safe due to terrorism with an incident happening every few years. The per capita death rate due to terrorism would be statistically insignificant compared to other variables like pollution, poor safety regulations which we see in those other 'supppsedly safe' countries

0:51 Simple - the 3 out of the 4 standard versions of the pluricentric Serbocroatian language have adapted separate cyrillic and latin alphabets for themselves (the Croatian standard adopted only latin). People choose for themselves which one they prefer (in my high school class, a majority went went with latin, but the minority of cyrillic writers was substantial. now in uni, there's a similar story), but all can understand both pretty much perfectly. then again, while preference for one or the other isn't strickly tied to ethnicity, there are different preferences within ethnicities. Bosniaks tend to choose latin, Montenegrins too, tho the difference isn't quite as big with the former, while Serbs tend to choose cyrillic. In Kosovo and North Macedonia, the usage of both Latin and Cyrillic is explained by different languages - while standard Serbian (the largest minority language of Kosovo) uses both cyrillic and latin, Albanian (the majority language of the area) uses just latin. In North Macedonia, the division is even more stark, as (Slavo-)Macedonian, the official language of the country (more closely related to Bulgarian than to Serbocroatian) uses just cyrillic. Nevertheless, a large Albanian and a smaller Turkish minority mean that a substantial percentage of the country's population uses latin to write in their language. For Cyprus, well, they have their own somewhat divergent dialect of Greek, spoken by a majority of the island's population, so of course Greek is gonna be an official language, written in the greek alphabet. Turkish is officially recognized as the second official language of Cyprus, due to the large Turkish minority (large enough they have their own unrecognized state in the north), and since Turkish is written using the latin alphabet...

That happens with almost everything we export. Brazil has an awful internal production. Because like (im kicking those numbers out) 90% of our agricultural production is of that _plantation_ style of exporting large amounts of a single product without letting much inside. 7:28 It's the other way round. There are more boys being born on average, but men have lower life expectancy than women. Some of that is just biology and some of that is men working more dangerous jobs, being more likely to be alcoholic, etc. Also Russia hasn't recovered for many reasons. 1) Child mortality was higher in Soviet Union than in the West. 2) There was shortage of men in workforce so women were encouraged to work and so didn't have kids. 3) Men have much lower life expectancy in Russia than women. Alcoholism, drug abuse, poor working conditions, poverty, high crime rates, etc. contribute to that. On average life expectancy for Men in Russia is 68 years while for women it's 78 years. Ten years of gap in life expectancy between women and men in Russia!
7:58 Here are some of my thoughts about this graph. 1. Russia's ratio of females to males didn't recover like Germany's did, because birth rates in soviet times were pretty low. A lot of men were missing in the work force and women were encouraged to work. Also a lot of men literally drink themselves to death. 2. Russia has serious demographic issues. Its population is not aging and declining as rapidly as Japan's, yet they are going to be hit harder. Russia is not a wealthy country by our standards and won't be able to pay for their elderly. 3. Yeah. Russia could never solve China's situation. Some experts say China has around 50 Million "surplus" men. That is more than 1/3rd of Russia's entire population. They are not even in the same age group so...

@@unknown185 I agree, there isn't a gene better for aging, aging is the same in both sexes, the only solution is for there to be an ambiental condition.
Slightly more males are born, but because (in almost all countries) men die earlier than women (on average), the female percentage increases with age. In Germany and the Russia, many old people live (which have a higher female percentage), this probably explains the higher percentage of females in this country. In Russia,. the difference between female and male life expectancy is especially high (it's assumed that male Wodka consumption is a relevant contributing factor)

When I got my driver's license at 16 in 1971, Drive In's were fairly common in CT, Norwich- New London, and the Groton Drive-ins I when to a lot. The Groton Drive-in is long gone now, there is a shopping mall there now. The Norwich -New London Drive-in is just an overgrown field not, they have been trying to sell it for decades at lease since the end of the 1970s. They say that Metroplexes and the VCR killed the drive in's. I think it had a lot to do with local property taxes. It was a thing back then a double feature and in the summer the movie would not even start till around 9 pm well 3 to 4 hours of movie run time is great for the weekend not so much during the workweek. I have not been to a drive-in in just about 50 years.
Formor Alaskan here: Drive in theaters are impossible in AK. In the summer, there isn't night. There's just more sun, so your projector wouldn't work. Yes, that effect occurs state wide. Sure, there may be a few hours of darkness, but for the most part, summer in Alaska means you can read outside at almost any time of night. I thought sunsets year round were a movie thing Hollywood invented for drama. Now let's talk about the winter. You would have to leave your engine running the whole time you were watching the movie. Or you would die. Your winters in the lower 48 are not cold. They're a bit chilly. That's it. Alaskan winters get so cold that if you peed outside, your pee freezes before it hits the ground. If you throw boiling water into the air, it will flash-freeze into snow instantly. Actualy instantly. AK winters give you about 15 minutes of exposure before you die. There's also the problem that modern movies are all garbage and no one gives people permission to screen old movies publicly.

Regarding that drive-in movie theatre map at around 10 minutes: I don't think it's fair to say that they're popular here in SoCal just because there's at least 2 per county compared to other counties. Southwestern counties are just a whole lot bigger than most other counties in the US, and there's a lot of people here. That tends to mess with a whole lot of statistical things when measuring by county. (Although, conditions are decent for any kind of outdoor venue in SoCal)

There are some companies that buy Brazilian coffee from the producers and just sell using their Brand and package. Germany loves to do that
And a large percentage of Brazilian coffee (robusta) gets blended with other higher quality coffees (arabica)
@@gustavoabreu3097 Detalhes sobre café já me passam. Não sabia que arabica era uma qualidade alta, já que só encontro essa nos cafés daqui
That happens with almost everything we export. Brazil has an awful internal production. Because like (im kicking those numbers out) 90% of our agricultural production is of that _plantation_ style of exporting large amounts of a single product without letting much inside. We sell and produce HUGE amounts of fruits and ofc coffee to foreigners and then the population rebuys it for triple the price with nice packages. In fact i think the only natural resource here that is actually produced to remain inside is Açaí. Here instead of drive-in theaters, we have summer cinemas, outdoor screens in an open enclosed area, with tables and chairs for you to sit down, drink a cold drink and have a snack while watching a movie. Very popular in the summertime
USA use blue for left and red for right is not that surprising, I mean USA has been doing stuff differently from the rest of the world for a long time
I wouldn't be surprised if the USA was considered one of the most isolated countries because it does almost everything different.
10:35 I believe that theater is the Swap Shop in Broward County. During the day it's a huge flea market, then at night they turn it into a drive-in theater

Regarding that lithium one- I’m fairly sure there was just a discovery of a ridiculous amount of lithium in Cornwall England!
Or maybe it's all about the losses during the WW2 (about 27 million people, most of them male)?

Here are some of my thoughts about this graph.

7:25 "Are more female babies born than male babies?"
Not really, the population ratio is generally skewed towards females because they tend to live longer, 5 years more on average.
Actually, I do think its slightly more females but not enough to make a huge difference
@@TheCrazierz regionally it'll be very divided
Nah it's because war.If you treat a male and female the exact same (exact job) the female won't even live longer. That sh*t isn't true

Hey! That is Cambria County in PA with 3+ Drive-Thrus, which probably explains why I was lucky enough to see a movie in one when I was a wee lad!
There's also the problem that modern movies are all garbage and no one gives people permission to screen old movies publicly.
not true, some cinemas still do it. Last time I checked there was a drive in in Cleveland that was still doing it too.
Formor?
Did you were born in Alaska?

Regarding that drive-in movie theatre map at around 10 minutes:
I don't think it's fair to say that they're popular here in SoCal just because there's at least 2 per county compared to other counties. Southwestern counties are just a whole lot bigger than most other counties in the US, and there's a lot of people here. That tends to mess with a whole lot of statistical things when measuring by county.
(Although, conditions are decent for any kind of outdoor venue in SoCal)
