    thank you for the reaction!
LiSA was going through her husband's cheating scandal during this time when she performed.
She has a kid and chose not to divorce.
She wrote this song putting herself in the shoes of an anime character but the lyrics resonated so much with her emotions at the time of this performance that she couldn't hold herself back emotionally.
As a single mother, this performance makes me cry every time.

This song is named flame (homura) for a reason.... The character this song was about in the movie had the biggest heart with a huge flame inside it and that flame desapeared protecting the world and those emotions are of his younger friend promising to always protect his wishes and dreams like in the lyrics... It really hurts espcially since he was always happy and smiling and died that way to giving hope and courage to the others. I hate when this type of people dies... So no love story there just human connections more precious than anything else...

Its the theme song of an anime movie called Demon slayer mugen train
the song is most likely about the feelings of the main character towards another character

This is the first time I have heard a Japanese song with emotional impact…Japans answer to Adele perhaps. Even without the benefit of subtitles, the song is clearly describing something emotive such is the ability of this artist to convey feeling. She looked emotionally drained at the end such was her expressive ability. Sabina…a beautiful and heart felt reaction.

@@kisamimi I live in the U.K. Our promotion of overseas music is pathetic/non existent. Thank God for reaction channels like this one, and the internet/You Tube. The only time I can recall any positive promotion of Japanese music was way way back in the mid 1970’s…a fabulous keyboard player called Tomita. From memory, his album, which did very well in the U.K., was titled Pictures at an Exhibition.

Great reaction concept, no stops and you can see what you thouht ,just amazing. Its really the first reaction which i would call perfect.
Yeah Lisa.... i dont know why but i look this performances at least 200 times and i cant get tired of it. Of course she is a one of a billion talent with her voice and the control of it and i also think she is the best singer i have ever heard.
But its more than that. How she puts everything , her body language her heart and emotions in the performance is like a rollercoaster ride of a song and i enjoy it to watch her as same as hear her.
She seems like the kindest ,sweetest Girl just from this few seconds before and after the Video. And that makes a HUGE difference when i think at the Hollywood "Over Humans" which we know from america. Its like you hear your whole life a Barbie singing and then you hear the First Time a real Human with all her Power she has in her. i cant explain like it feels for me but the world should know Lisa and not Miley Cyrus.
I would Love you also react to her First Take performance of "Gurenge". Its the same greatness without that heavy sad emotions.

I think that the number of people this single woman has made cry with this song, me being one of them, should say something to her talent. She is so famous in the Japanese anime and music communities. If you watch anime, she has done at least one intro song to a show you've watched. some can correct me, but I think earlier in her career, she had lost her father and she decided to write a song, which was put in an anime soundtrack.

Not sure if you checked out the description on the First Take’s video but this song is actually from the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie.
Demon Slayer is an anime based on a manga series that’s been popping off in popularity since a couple years back.
The song is already emotional but when you connect the lyrics to the movie, the main character, and specially the scene of the movie that this song is from it just hits you like a truck haha.
I had the opportunity to watch it in theaters when it came out and everyone was just crying their eyes out.
I’d love to watch more reactions to LiSA, the First Take channel or really any japanese music since there’s a lot of gems to discover

No. You're not the only person to shed a tear to this performance.
Especially in the context of the movie... it is at least 10x more emotional.
My massive recommendation would be to react to "Gurenge" by LiSA next (also First Take). It's the original opening to the same anime, Demon Slayer. It uses incredible vocal distortion, growls, and clean falsetto switches. A less emotional but more impressive display of her total effortless control and skill vocally.

Sabina, I just found your channel and I'm instantly a new subscriber. I love when reacters give us honest emotion, it's a rare thing to find these days. You were definitely not the only one tearing up here. LiSA is one of my all-time favorite performers and quite a few of her songs do this to me too. Someone here said she seems to be the Japanese equivalent to Adele. I have to agree fully. The First Take channel helped a lot of us who were housebound through the pandemic. You're right, it's a brilliant concept and I'll go as far to say that I've watched every video on their channel at least a dozen times and there's not one bad performance in the lot. LiSA's performance including one alongside a relative newcomer named Uru all stand out but pretty much every other performance on the site is close to the level of this and her performance of Gurenge.

this is one of my favorite reactions to the song.
just for once...you did the right thing
first listen to the song and shut up. let it sink it. let you feel the emotion of the song and how she sang it.

lisa’s been doing this for a long time… i cant confirm, but her breakout probably happened in 2011 (atleast in the japanese animation industry), when she provided the opening music for fate/zero.
Of course she has her own standalone songs and album, but she has provided a craptonne of music for anime in the past 11 or so years.
Im guessing (apart from the issue with her cheating husband), this song kinda reminded her of how far shes gotten in her musical career.

If you want a slightly deeper cut album track that (as well as a showcase for her more aggressive vocals) shows off the insane chops/musicianship of her touring band, then I'd recommend this performance of "赤い罠(who loves it?)": ua-cam.com/video/u4ur67jrLxI/v-deo.html
For something more fun & lighthearted, try this acoustic version of "ROCK Mode" filmed during the lockdowns, a staple of her live sets for years: ua-cam.com/video/yz6LSvY_muU/v-deo.html
Or going back to the first song that put her on the map, as a singer that could sell/live the emotional content of a song like few others, "Ichiban no Takaramono 一番の宝物", which she performed for the 2010 anime Angelbeats! as the character Yui. Back then they quickly realised they had to schedule the setlists with this song last, otherwise she frequently became too emotional to be able to continue to sing afterwards: ua-cam.com/video/yu_8bMe9EZU/v-deo.html
