I have a love hate relationship with your guitar reviews. Simply because I love the guitars and the channel, the “hate” is because I have pain within my right hand and wrist. I work in a warehouse and my hands take a beating. I always wanna give it a go again but my hands really don’t feel like allowing that to happen 😢 Also congrats on the 500,000!!!!
@@SpectreSoundStudios yep, buuuut if anything, I do take your opinions out to my buddies anytime they are looking for a new guitar. Much appreciation Glenn! 🤘🏻
My only experience with LTD was buying a brand new B104 bass about 7 years ago. It came with the nut filed too low on the E string and it fretted out horribly. It was basically unplayable. LTD/ESP wanted me to ship it back on my dime for them to fix, then pay the return shipping. I got a new nut installed for WAY less and sold it. Bought a used Schecter C-4 XXX and it was a dream. I've since bought 2 more Schecters SLS Evil Twin 4 and 5 and they are REMARKABLE! Maybe my experience was a anomaly, but you can bet that whoever cut the nut on my 104 did more than that one. Plus the fact that it had the "signed off" sticker on it that said it was good to go means no one checked that bass at all, they're most likely batch checked. So at that point, might as well have bought a First Act P-bass. On the flip side, each one of my Schecters I bought new came set up PERFECT. String height, intonation, everything.
I've had an ESP LTD ST-1 from around 2012 and it's excellent. It to wasn't the cheapest thing on the market but it wasn't insanely expensive either at around $1200. Even though it has a floyd rose it stays in tune surprisingly well, looks beautiful and is a joy to play. Then again that might just be my empty wallet speaking :)
I hate sounding like a fanboy but its hard to not be when you compare a Gibson neck to an ESP neck. The comfort on the ESP is just amazing. Doesn't cramp your hands as bad as some of the wider neck guitars do.
$1200 for an LTD? Geez inflation really hitting guitar world. I remember I bought my old LTD at sam ash back in 2009 for $500 Edit: yes mine was made in Korea too.
Not sure if anyone posted this yet but ESP and Schecter while being separate entities are in fact owned by the same person, Mr Hisatake Shibuya. Great instruments.
Hell yeah! I love ESP guitars. The 1000 deluxe series are really good and look gorgeous. It's hard to imagine a $5000 ESP could be that much better. I just wish they would've kept the original ESP logo on them. My MH-1000 looks very similar to your schecter. It's see thru cherry burst or something like that and it has the abalone binding. I think ESP has perfected the metal guitar style.
Personally I’m of the mindset that there’s diminishing returns the more expensive guitars get. There’s really only so much you can do to make a guitar better enough to justify the price. I don’t really see how any guitar besides collectibles can be worth $5,000. I’d say the intersection of value vs price crosses at around the $1000 mark. There are many amazing guitars around there (some over, some under) and really anything significantly about $1,000 usually doesn’t have much more than what the $1000 range guitars have.
The E2 guitars are awesome. They are built in the same factory the originals were built in. The LTD 1000 series is quite good, but sometimes look way too flashy with the amount of abalony used. The E2 M1 that is my main guitar is absolutley perfect. The intonation, fretwork, electronics. I would say that it is a higher quality than the 1000 series EC1000 that I had, but the neck is slightly thicker on the M1, and the fingerboard radius is 12". The EC 1000 did every once in a while have the high E string catch on the end of the 5th fret, but may have been a result of a previous owner because I got that one used. (There was a tiny chip in the nut which may have been causing that). I believe the E2 has a titanium truss rod, and some other reinforcement, but I will have to check that. It is a heavy guitar ( Over 21 pounds) but after having it for a year I believe it is worth the extra few hundred bucks to get an E2 over a 1000 series. I started building my own guitars last summer because I didn't want to pay the ESP custom shop for a slightly different version of the M1. I'm shure the custom shop would be worth it, but I figured for that price I could buy all of the tools that I need to build my own.
Got myself an ESP Ltd EC-1000 with EMG Pickups. This is one of the best guitars i've ever had and played. All the compliments of your video apply to my model as well. 5 Stars. And this is why you have to spend a little more. It's worth every penny
Ohhhhh GLENN!! Someone's been practicing some shreds! Well done dude. Been checking out your videos lately and it's great seeing your progress! Pretty inspiring stuff!
I loved anything ESP LTD that I got my hands on so far. They make some of the best Metal stuff you can get for reasonable money. The pickup comment was ridiculous, LOL - of course you're not gonna need to "upgrade" a Pegasus/Sentient set, those are high quality, very good performing pickups!
Yep, gonna comment twice. But after your Tone Video, I kinda think its also a waste of money to buy guitars like this. If there's really no difference in tone, what difference does it make if you're playing a $1300 ESP, or a $150 Harley Benton that looks the same? Oh... its the clout, isn't it.
it actually is just for the clout. If Pickups don't matter, why does the rest of the guitar? Probably just buy Harley's if you're gonna be throwing that much Gain on the sound anyways. Save Yourself some money if you're just gonna be playing through the same Speakers anyways.
0:20 ¨... I never got to finished the review mainly cuz I was too busy triggering Gibson's fan boys, pick up geeks and tube hipsters¨ would have been more accurate in my opinion. Mange un char Glenn! - From your next door Frenchie neighbor.
You’ll be hard pressed to find a bad modern 1000 Series ESP LTD. They’re getting a little pricey but have awesome specs from the factory - like stainless steel frets and upgraded stainless steel Floyd hardware.
They're stuck in this weird realm where they aren't a legacy/classic line from our grandparents days, and also aren't a young/sexy brand that popped up out of influencer love in the last 8 years
I think the LTD branding is killing them. Everyone sees just cheap when they don’t know anything about the brand, because all other brand have a “cheap brand”.
@@chrispodesta8105 No, I think the influencers are paid off and they talk about other brands. lets face it ESP has Metallica, doesn't get more legacy and sexiness than that
@@Juventinos oh yeah, I'm sure you're right about that. I dunno about Metallica as a sexy seeking point for a brand anymore though. Legacy, sure - but even with them ESP isn't perceived as on the level with fender/Gibson/ibanez because they weren't around for the 60s/70s era of rock. (Among other reasons I'm sure) Which is dumb, to be sure.
I am a life-long Gibson player. Still play my vintage Gibsons, but wont buy any new Gibson. A couple of manufacturers make better guitars at a fraction of the price. ESP/LTD as one, is just miles ahead regarding new guitars compared to Gibson. Gibson not even close. I have no trust in Gibson anymore. They lost their integrity imo.
I’m playing a 2002 esp mc 500 zack wylde and not one person who has heard or played that guitar not offered to buy it for well over at least 1500$, at the time it was a 600$ guitar.... if you are playing ANYTHING but an esp you are doing life wrong, my guitar is so hard to fit in the case with it’s balls being so huge
Do not disturb mode, on BOTH devices if you have a Mac computer too! Isn't that great, you silence your phone and then your computer is like RING RING RING!
it is amazing how well the folks at ESP/LTD set up their guitars. The only thing that would make the ESP LTD Horizon series better would be either Kahler whammys or an Evertune bridge. The shape is conventional, familiar, but comfortable as fuck. Especially their neck-thru horizons. SUPER slick, super comfortable to play. No drag when you slide or transition. It just feels so different from other guitars. The secret to the comfort in playing is the narrowness of the neck compared to other guitars. You don't have to reach as far with ESPs as you do with other guitars.
can vouch for LTD. i bought a Mirage Delux a year ago and it is one of the finest guitars I've ever played. unbelievable fret work and neck from the factory. i liked the neck so much i replaced my Warmoth guitar with a new neck to the ESP specs. its really close, but not quite the ESP shape that i love.
Both guitars are indeed made in the same factory, World Musical Instruments and also, both ESP/LTD & Schecter are owned by the same guy, Hisatake Shibuya the founder of ESP Guitars.Shibuya-san is a major figure in the Japanese guitar industry, he started with small guitar repair shop in the 70's similar like Wayne Charvel and now runs ESP, a bunch of other brands and founded a luthier academy. He also owns the prestigious Hollywood Musicians Institute, the music school where Paul Gilbert use to teach and many famous musicians like John Frusciante, Ray Luzier or Pete Thorn studied there.
Glen, see if you can grab an E-II made in japan from them and see if it's worth the extra money over the upper level ltds. I've got an itch for a viper. Curious to see if it's worth the extra $1k+
I have a James hetfield signature Ltd and I gotta admit it's better than the gibson lespaul .. it's lighter stays in tune and the tone is unbelievable clean or distorted .... and f}#% you glen .. good morning
I've 3 esp ltd guitars. They are such great guitars. They play like they are made by the gods of thunder. I prefer them over any other guitar brands I tried out. (Ibanez, Jackson etc.) And clean they sound so beautiful. I recommend ESP-ltd to every guitarist. Both beginners and pro's. I am happy you made this video (and other simular videos about cheap but good guitars), Glenn. Showing people there are far better (and cheaper) brands than Gibson is important for the guitar community.
I found one of those in purple (MH-1000NT) that honestly looks like it was played once. $525 from GC used. Made in Korea to boot. I'd call that a decent-ish score.
I own four Deluxe LTD's. I play them almost exclusively, and have for many years. Even the lower end LTD'S I've had have never let me down. They are the most solid and reliable guitars on the market.
My LTD EC-1000 is absolutely amazing. They go for $1000. I got mine for $860 because of "paint flaws". Still better than a Gibson! I love necks with no paint. You can wash your hands all you want but a gloss neck will feel sticky regardless. Maybe someone should do a test on that.
Yeah the lie detector test determined THAT was a fucking lie 😂 I'm so beyond sick of the "Far east slave labor guitar crushes the high end, lovingly built competition" trope. We all know it isn't true. Harley Benton, LTD, and all the others aren't crushing anything. They're making shitty to mid guitars at a low price. They don't top anything made by people who love making guitars and charge real money for their work.
These are made by World Musical Instruments in S.Korea, who is anything than a ''slave labor'' manufacturer. This is a factory founded by former Samick people who were sick & tired of building cheap crap and their workers are highly trained. They use to build the PRS SE models for many years, until PRS moved production to Indonesia, because the wages there are lower. If you know anything about Paul Reed Smith, he's absolutely uncompromising when it comes to quality control. The fact that he let them build his import line for over a decade, speaks volumes for their craftmanship. WMIC also builds guitars for many other big name companies.
Very nice guitar. The coil taps on my Epiphone G400 split the humbuckers into single coils. I’m guessing that the coil taps on that ESP LTD do the same?
It’s actually Coil Splitting. CS Guitars does a video explaining the difference. All that is happening is splitting the coils from Hum to Single. Coil tapping is much more intricate and used mainly in pedals and whatnot
I agree with this statement. As someone who was a strict ESP aficionado/ smob, turned LTD collector, this is so true! I love my LTD guitars (all 600/1000 series) just as much as I love my ESP collection.
You’re over 500K subs Glenn! Congrats brother. Love your reviews and absolute honesty. Not a bought and paid for Yes man spokesman. Keep up the fantastic work my friend.
You're right that the Korean guitars are amazing. I've had the Japanese and Korean models side by side many times and even though I love both my Japanese and Korean models, there is almost no difference aside from maybe the wood grain looks better on the ESPs. I actually like the tuners on certain year LTD models better than the Japanese ESP guitars. With like 20 years worth of LTD 1000 series guitars on the used market as well, that's probably the way to go for most people.
Every LTD I have ever played has been rock solid. The Korean and Indo models are very well made for the money. Their thin U necks are some of my favorites.
Esp makes some good stuff! Over the years I've owned 4 of them, started with the F-50, then the F-250, had a Forest GT, and currently playing a Japanese model called Ganesa they've really impressed me
I recently sent back/returned an Indonesia made LTD Deluxe....had flaws and didn't feel/played like my other four made in Korea ...no way I would keep a guitar that I paid more for that feels like less.....and thats disappointing
@@deathnsd6953 The indonesian made guitars, can be a bit hit or miss at times, but good that you sent it back. Don't settle for less than what you want, from a guitar. 🤘
I'm not a "metal looking guitar" kind of guy, but once, I tried a LTD TE-1000 (Tele with 2 humbuckers). With no expectations from me, that guitar was AMAZING! Same pickups like this one, locking tuners, roasted maple neck, Hipshot bridge. ESP/LTD makes incredible guitars in all the ranges.
I've been on an E-II Horizon NT-7B for almost 6 years at this point. The only complaint I had in the beginning was a too tightly cut nut, making tuning it annoying, but otherwise perfectly playing guitar. After fixing the nut everything was awesome up until recently, when fret wear started to become apparent. It still feels special to pick the guitar up, even just looking at it gives me a feeling of: Yes, that is the perfect instrument for me.
GLEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN! Thanks for the amazing content as always! Would it be possible to leave your amp settings/speakers used in the description the videos? I really like the tone you dialed in for this video and can’t quite dial it in.
I would hope that the setup is GREAT. According to Sweetwater, they go through EVERY guitar by hand and set them up. In addition to a thorough inspestion
A set up is not the same as a 55pt. check. It's all bullshit anyways. Soo many complete rejects get through anyhow. I'm about done mess'n with them. In the last year alot has changed at Sweetwater. It's hard to get a straight answer out of anyone there anymore. It's always some kind of run around.
That's my fave thing to say after trying a good guitar..."plays like butter". Something I have NEVER said about trying a Gibson. Other things I've never said about Gibson.... "Wow, this stays in tune well"....... "This heaviness feels awesome"..... "Gotta love thick, round necks"..... "Great price".... 👀
I only played probably 2 or 3 LTDs in my near-20 years of playing, but when I was looking for a 7-string, I found an LTD MH-417, and I have to say it blew me away! The fretwork was that good in every aspect that I bought it there and then. No rough ends on them, and the only guitar I've managed to get the action any where nearly as low on is my old '89 Ibanez S540ltd(pre S series). for paying just under £300 for it was an absolute steal too, considering it had EMG's aswell. Buying that guitar made me not even want to go near an actual ESP.
I've known for years that the MIK W-serial LTD 1000 series, as well as the W-serial artist signature 600 series, hit way above their price point. When comparing to Gibsons / Fenders you have to get up into the $3000 range to find guitars that are equal. Now if you step up to the SS serial MIJ ESPs (production line) you'd have to go to Gibson or Fender custom shop guitars to find the same build quality. Then, if you step up to the K, S or T serial MIJ ESPs (top of the line handmade) you'll be playing the finest crafted guitars there are. There are boutique guitars that are their equal but the list is short.
I’ve owned guitars from every major brand that has offerings under $500. LTD, Schecter, Gretsch, Squier, Epiphone, countless Chinese guitars…. A LTD EC400 (single cut) was by far the best guitar I’ve ever had in my hands.
I like my $499 LTD Eclipse more than my $899 Epiphone Les Paul lol. They are excellent guitars. The difference between the two isn't that noticeable but I like how the LTD plays a fair amount more.
@@Yeti_Boop yeah same for me. It wasn’t that anything blew me away or was SOOO much better than Epiphone or Schecter it was just so solid and felt great every where.
This is incorrect. The same guy owns both companies but they are separate entities, however If i had to guess they are made in the same factory(world of music), which makes tons of other brands as well.
@@jeffdean277 Actually it is not really incorrect. Maybe it looks that way to Americans. However here in Japan, Schecter and ESP are run in the same way with similar policies. By the way, Hisatake Shibuya is not just the owner of ESP, he is the founder, and he has owned Schecter since the late 80s. Schecter is not going to exist without his imprint in some way.
@Fatt Philosopher yes but they are still separate entities. He has owned schecter since 87 and has still allowed them to operate as they did with the custom shop in California, he just brought in the expertise he already had. You said ESP owns them, which is incorrect. They aren't considered a subsidiary of ESP like say epiphone/gibson, ESP/LTD/Edwards or Fender/squire.
@@jeffdean277 It seems we are trying to split hairs a bit. I guess we can redefine it as “The founder of ESP, who still owns ESP, also owns Schecter for more than 35 years, and while he allows for Schecter to have some creative freedom, still runs both companies with practically identical business models and policies, that produce guitars similar in many way, catering to almost the same market.” It may not be a Fender/Squier relationship, but its close to a Fender/Jackson/Charvel relationship.
@@shanewalton8888 yes. I don't disagree with that at all. Him owning schecter gave us metal guys another solid choice. I'm just glad he had them stopped making the overly gawdy guitars of the early 2000s with loads of hideous abalone and edgey graphics lol
Picked up an LTD MH400 with active EMGs and a Floyd about 2005. Korean made. Inspection sticker actually says ESP. it was just under a grand at the time. It is sweet!
The Pegasus sentient set are my favorite pickups. They have really nice cleans and don’t get muddy under high gain. I know pickups don’t really sound different under super high gain, but I upgraded the pickups in my sub series sterling guitar and it made quite the difference.
Good to see Ltd get some love. I've got a couple of the 1000 deluxe series guitars. I've always said my ec1000 destroys a Les Paul in every way, and back when I bought it, it was $899. Everyone should try an Ltd. Nice review man. 🤘
@@davidshafer6388 yeah man. I've always liked Ltd and schecters necks. I've been playing those and deans, since before they were well known for their quality. You could get them dirt cheap from pawn shops, because everyone saw them as "cheap". The fact is, they've always been awesome. Lol
When I only have to adjust a neck, I won't complain. The instrument may have been shipped from a country with a different climate, regarding humidity and temperature.
As someone with naturally clammy/ sweaty hands, washing my hands will only make it worse since it introduces more moisture into my skin. I wash my hands frequently, not particularly to play guitar though. My Jazz bass has a gloss neck and it's fine, it doesn't really get much worse to play than guitars with smoother necks.
I keep hearing that the ESP LTD-1000 whether they are Eclipses, Arrows, M's, Horizons and all beat out guitars costing several times more. They truly punch beyond their weight given that they are durable instruments and they rock like no other not to mention they look so vibrant. As I write this, I await the delivery of my new LTD EC-1000 Eclipse through the mail.
I have both a LTD H1001 and Shecter Hellraiser Hybrid. Mine are both Floyd Rose equipped though. Anyway, they are both absolutely amazing guitars and I wouldn't trade them for anything.... especially not a Gimpson.
The ESP LTD Horizon series is my favorite super-strat knockoff. What you say about the Horizon necks are ABSOLUTELY true. I have an Indonesian made ESP LTD H250 and it plays like a DREAM. Maintains tuning very well. Has Seymour Duncan made pickups. Neck-through design. Very good guitars, the ESP LTD Horizons. My headstock looks different than yours. Mine is more like a spearhead. Same logo though. Yours was Korean made, mine was Indonesian made. They make good guitars for a good price. Mine was like 400 bucks when I got mine in 2006. Its been since discontinued. But yeah the thing you said about horizon necks is absolutely correct. They feel so very comfortable compared to other guitars. Its hard to adjust when I play other guitars, lol I get so use to how comfortable the esp neck feels. Its narrow enough to shred but wide enough to not bump my fingers together. It isn't a struggle to reach where i'm trying to fret like it is on a gibson. I don't know why gibson uses such wide necks. But anyway yeah that's the main factors that determines it for me, how comfortable it feels to play and how well it stays in tune.
I have an EC-1000 and loving the neck, Thin U, but I wanted a Hipshot bridge as well so I just bought this one in an older version in green. And MAN I'm loving it - SO leightweight, 3150 grams, and SO easy to play. I'm in heaven and now I need the See Thru Black and the Violet Andromeda. Horizon ROCKS
I have four LTD's. I have an EC-1000 deluxe red quilt. I have an EC-1000 Deluxe Piezo see thru black (awesome looks dark purple), I have a GH600fr black. I also have an ec-256, good but never played. The only other guitar I play is my DBZ Bolero.
I fell in love with LTD. I have 2 EC 1000, one with EMG's and the other with SD. The are better than my Gibson LP, or my Zakk Epiphone. You should try one
GLEEEEENNNNNNNN, AWSOME VIDEO, F*CK. Please make a review of the Schecter Diamond Series. I have one with Grover Tuners, Duncan Designed HB, Korean made just for 250 bucks. For me, it is the best guitar I have ever had. That guitar for me is the best option for your money. Try one if you can and make a video about it, we will really appreciate it. Thanks for your useful and increible content. Blessings.
In the last 5-10 years LTD has become the best bang for the buck guitar choice in my humble opinion. Their production is absolutely incredible and the LTD 1000 line is better than the E-II line when you factor in price. I tried almost every guitar brand out there and ESP will always be my ride or die.
Nope.. Way too much money for what it is and with a "Oh Yeah I Think I've Heard of The Brand Name?" Maker. I don't see it? So it plays & sounds as good as the guitars you review at half the price? Oh yeah It has a quilted veneer, That for sure makes up the price difference. The only player in an active band I know of; that Plays an ESP, LTD? ..Is "Lars Frederiksen" of Rancid and his side band the Bastards, He uses the Camo'ed, SG'ish ESP, LTD model.
I took a chance on a couple cheap guitars, a Jackson JS32 Kelly Amaranth Fingerboard Snow White scratch and dent for $314.00,I got it yesterday and the tuners are the only issue(lots of slack in tuning pegs),the fret work is so nice and the Jackson stock pickups are impressing me....Guitar brand pickups have upped their quality(7 years ago different story). $369.00+ Tax New and well worth it. I highly recommend this guitar....just WOW,loveing it. I also ordered a Kramer nite v fr....2 weeks to get it...I hope.
I’d like to see you demo a Custom Shop ESP. I have 3 of them and they are the best guitars I’ve ever played. I have the KH-2, KH-3, and an Alexi Pink Sawtooth. Very, very expensive, but the best of the best. Not a single imperfection. However, I do love my LTD’s as well. You really can’t go wrong with ESP.
If you really like hardtailed strat copies, you really should check out "Harley Benton Fusion-III EMG HT Roasted SBK" from Thomann. Better specced? (Stainless Steel Frets) with all the bells and whistles as this one has. Not Hipshot bridge though, but the cheaper WSC Hipshot variant, and locking tuners....
I got lemon LTD EC-256 with dimarzio PAFs and its build quality for the price is crushing the balls. Got it for around 500$ and it is fantastic. First of all I don't care if I ding it somewhere. Second I got some mods to it without fear that I loose some future price... You know why? because why the fck I should sell this good of a guitar for some bullshit 200-300$?! Stays in tune, sound good, feels cool on fretboard and I like to play it when I'm standing up. Oh! and I love talking to "Gibson Pure Authentic" jerkoffs about how much better of a Les Paul is mine cheap guitar. Dude, the rage... So much fun : >
And btw Pickups matter, shitty pickups mean shitty sound, good pickups mean good sound, I dgaf if its EMG, Duncan, or Probuckers good shit in is good shit out
Ooooh, I love me some Korean LTDs! If I'm in a market for a new guitar, I primarily buy used early 2000s Korean LTDs because they are great value! Love my H207 and Viper 407. The first time I got the H207 in my hands, I was immediately converted. The necks are beefier than Ibanez Wizard necks, but not as bat-like as Schecter's.
Esp Ltd is all I will purchase folks … I got new made in Korea super perfect ec - 1000fr violet shadow w/emg 60/81 from sweetwater and straight out of the box it had perfect set up I got a made in China 2009 mh - 327 ( 27 fret ) trans black w/ Floyd Rose with Duncan hot rails at the neck and Duncan custom 5 at the bridge that NEVER goes out of tune after months of not being played ( wow ) … thanks … GOD BLESS !!!
I always thought I was tonedeaf when I saw videos comparing pickups, you got it right... On your last video I commented how people defend Gibson as if they were giving daily BJs to their customers and how I love my LTDs, becaus they make great guitars at affordable prices... could you make a video comparing the lowest series of LTDs (50) vs Deluxe or higher-end LTDs (1000)? I am very pleased with all my 50 series from LTD, cheers from Mexico!!! (where inflation makes it impossible to buy a Gibson)

I hate sounding like a fanboy but its hard to not be when you compare a Gibson neck to an ESP neck. The comfort on the ESP is just amazing. Doesn't cramp your hands as bad as some of the wider neck guitars do.
as SOON as I heard that riff I knew EXACTLY what it was!! I was one of the ones that was there in 86!! Warriors Of Genghis Kahn!! 🤣🤣
I come back to Glenn not just to hear a guitar and his opinions, but to hear how *goddamn* good he's gotten
ESP and Ltd are amazing instruments
$1200 for an LTD? Geez inflation really hitting guitar world. I remember I bought my old LTD at sam ash back in 2009 for $500
Edit: yes mine was made in Korea too.
Was your LTD a 1000 series or a lesser series?
Everyone is shitting themselves over Ola's new guitar shape and I'm sitting here with my esp/or ltd wondering what the hype is lol
@@rmatt498 totally agree! I have a ltd jm-2 and it cost me about $1500 new. Absolutely plays and sounds just as good as my buddies esp USA M series
Got myself an ESP Ltd EC-1000 with EMG Pickups. This is one of the best guitars i've ever had and played. All the compliments of your video apply to my model as well. 5 Stars. And this is why you have to spend a little more. It's worth every penny
Everyone seems to be noting not the quality of the LTD, but the improvement in Glenn’s guitar chops. He got good!
Dudes been at practice
Practice is a hell of a thing.
*got gud, in proper gamerspeak ;)
Ohhhhh GLENN!! Someone's been practicing some shreds! Well done dude. Been checking out your videos lately and it's great seeing your progress! Pretty inspiring stuff!
I loved anything ESP LTD that I got my hands on so far. They make some of the best Metal stuff you can get for reasonable money. The pickup comment was ridiculous, LOL - of course you're not gonna need to "upgrade" a Pegasus/Sentient set, those are high quality, very good performing pickups!
Those or Nazgul, just whatever flavor. 🤘
@@dbombaable The Nazgul kills!
- From your next door Frenchie neighbor.
lol :)
You’ll be hard pressed to find a bad modern 1000 Series ESP LTD.
They’re getting a little pricey but have awesome specs from the factory - like stainless steel frets and upgraded stainless steel Floyd hardware.
I hate it that ESP doesn't get more love, they've been doing things right for a very long time. but the influencers never mention them
They're stuck in this weird realm where they aren't a legacy/classic line from our grandparents days, and also aren't a young/sexy brand that popped up out of influencer love in the last 8 years
I think the LTD branding is killing them. Everyone sees just cheap when they don’t know anything about the brand, because all other brand have a “cheap brand”.
@@chrispodesta8105 No, I think the influencers are paid off and they talk about other brands. lets face it ESP has Metallica, doesn't get more legacy and sexiness than that
@@Juventinos Metallica are the very reason I ever looked into ESP/LTD guitars and they've been my go-to for rockin' the bedroom for 20 years. 😂👍
(Among other reasons I'm sure)
Which is dumb, to be sure.
For cheaper than 1299 USD you could get a Solar guitars 7string with Fishman Fluence Moderns and an Evertune bridge.
Cool guitar, wrong price.
ESP has been making Gibson their bitch since the 80s.
The new logo sucks, but I love LTD! My favourite and beloved one is an LTD Ex-400 with the OLD logo!
Rey Skywalker?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!? No!!!!! She is not a skywalker!!!!! Did you not pay attention to Episode 9!!!!!!!
Damn Glenn. You are introducing me to so many cool bands. Thanks man.
I loved him playing the "Warriors Of Genges Khan" riff.
Hey Glen, why not try one of the cheaper LTD's like the ESP LTD TE-200 its priced about $399 us.
Huge fan of ESP! Just picked up mh-1007 evertune 🤘🤘
Hard to believe I bought an ESP E-II Arrow brand new on sale for about $1500 3 years ago.
Glen, see if you can grab an E-II made in japan from them and see if it's worth the extra money over the upper level ltds. I've got an itch for a viper. Curious to see if it's worth the extra $1k+
Wonder why we have to call them
ESP LTD
FENDER SQUIRE
I don't hear anyone saying Gibson Epiphone
I have a James hetfield signature Ltd and I gotta admit it's better than the gibson lespaul .. it's lighter stays in tune and the tone is unbelievable clean or distorted .... and f}#% you glen .. good morning
I've 3 esp ltd guitars. They are such great guitars. They play like they are made by the gods of thunder.
I prefer them over any other guitar brands I tried out. (Ibanez, Jackson etc.)
And clean they sound so beautiful.
They are the most solid and reliable guitars on the market.
esp/ltd has always been a way better buy than fender or gibson. 🍻
I own 2 of the SG-1000, 2007’s. They bury Gibson SG’s. Huge frets, which I love. And S-D’s.
Yeah the lie detector test determined THAT was a fucking lie 😂
I'm so beyond sick of the "Far east slave labor guitar crushes the high end, lovingly built competition" trope.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices, Turn it off for your recording computer.
Haven't had an iPhone in a good while, but would airplane mode be another workable option?
You're right that the Korean guitars are amazing. I've had the Japanese and Korean models side by side many times and even though I love both my Japanese and Korean models, there is almost no difference aside from maybe the wood grain looks better on the ESPs. I actually like the tuners on certain year LTD models better than the Japanese ESP guitars. With like 20 years worth of LTD 1000 series guitars on the used market as well, that's probably the way to go for most people.
These are reasons why I haven't used anything but ESP/LTD both in the studio and live.
Every LTD I have ever played has been rock solid. The Korean and Indo models are very well made for the money. Their thin U necks are some of my favorites.
Are they well made for the money? Or are they just well made?
@@soundman1402 Yes and yes.
@@soundman1402both.
Esp makes some good stuff! Over the years I've owned 4 of them, started with the F-50, then the F-250, had a Forest GT, and currently playing a Japanese model called Ganesa they've really impressed me
Ah yes, the old Kaoru signature from Dir En Grey.
@vladv5126 grew up watching Dir en Grey always wanted one finally got one and I'm impressed
@@masked_ultra8859 they're awesome
My understanding is that ESP and Schecter are under the same ownership. Both brands offer so much to metal players!
Use baby powder on your hands just like with a cue stick duh!! It absorbs moisture!!
I do that!
side note it’s talc or cornstarch not dehydrated infant?
We need better truth in labeling laws, or maybe that’s powdered baby ??
Dude I totally agree. I just dropped a video on the rare Slayer LTD. It’s insane! Even their EC 256 is great. Awesome video as always, Glen🤘🏻
Sweet video man. I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t even know that guitar existed 😳
Absolutely beautiful guitar. I have an ESP E-II Horizon-III that I love to bits. ESP / LTD never disappoint. 🤘
I've got an LTD EC-1000 and an LTD MH-1000HS and love both the guitars, got them used at $400 and $430 each!
ESP/LTD makes incredible guitars in all the ranges.
you’re the best guitar youtuber ❤❤❤❤
That is a mighty tone from the LTD!!!
Well , considering ESP owns Schecter, we should find similarities.
I used to have an EC1000 deluxe. It had the best feeling neck that I have played on.
As I write this, I await the delivery of my new LTD EC-1000 Eclipse through the mail.
if you want classic les paul play a ktd ec 1000 3 times cheaper wozh better tunng stability
Glad your enjoying beefing up your chops on guitar. So many UA-camrs just stop doing music and just make videos and burnout.
For fucks sake Glenn, turn off your phone while recording! Damit.
Awesome Review anyway. Nice guitar! Loving LTD since 2010.
They're like real guitars, but without any soul, and only good for extreme gain and fx
Esp Ltd is all I will purchase folks … I got new made in Korea super perfect ec - 1000fr violet shadow w/emg 60/81 from sweetwater and straight out of the box it had perfect set up
I got a made in China 2009 mh - 327 ( 27 fret ) trans black w/ Floyd Rose with Duncan hot rails at the neck and Duncan custom 5 at the bridge that NEVER goes out of tune after months of not being played ( wow ) … thanks … GOD BLESS !!!
