this video has me in tears..of happy memories...i am only half american...my mother and abuela are both now dead...i grew up watching my mom and grandma cook like this and have fun in the kitchen and always speaking in spanish so "the kids cant understand" I always understoond...because I was nosey and spied and always wanted to know what they were up to and i loved to eat and watch them cook. My entire spanish (grew up in los angeles so we adopted mexican culture/food as immigrating from spain at age 8 mom didnt have other spanairds to grow up with....grandma didnt have any spainard women either) side of my family...all of my hispanic heritage is gone....i wanted to learn to make this...and while i got the exact recipe they used watching this...i got SO much more out of this!! thank you ....I love you and your granny!! well done ladies....your both adorable and I will follow you and spy on YOUR kitchen now haha! Blessed Be!! )o(
pinkspeeder HUGS to you, I understand completely, my parents also had that hidden other language, I hated that they wouldn't teach me. They wanted to Americanize me because neither parent spoke English until they started school. Looking back I lost out too. Now my folks are gone and I am old. But I understand they meant well. I love these videos too.
I love watching your grandma's videos. i lost my grandma almost 4 years ago, and she was the one i would always ask my cooking questions to... your grandmother has became her sub! May god bless her always!! ☺
onelifeonewayvid hey am Jose and love witching your shows of your grandmas cooking, I wish I was young again when my abulita cooked food for me am 30 now. it's been in 2008 when grandfather want back to Mexico. Michoucan is were we are from, a place in a small town call Cheran.
Just found this site, you are very smart to have these videos of your abuela cooking. I watched my grandma & wrote down her instructions as she cooked. No way to record her cooking back in the 1970's. There is nothing as wonderful as the sight & smells of a gifted cook in her element, and IMO the Latino (Mexican) kitchen smells THE BEST. My favorite.
Wow, you have such a wonderful grandmother, you are really blessed! Her food looks so good, I want to adopt my very own Mexican grandmother and spend our days in her kitchen cooking and having a wonderful time to, LOL!
Thank you for this great video! I am a gringo living in Mexico (near Ensenada) and want to impress my Mexican friends with an authentic recipe. I had no idea how much work goes into making chiles rellenos, but I'm going for it. I have never heard of the papas part, but I'm going to try that too. Muchisimas gracias a ustedes. Y tu abelita es muy linda (y tu tambien). Gracias!
Your abuelita is so cute, I just lost my great grandma in the beginning of this year, Your grandma looks so much like her that at times when I see your videos I start crying cause she reminds me of her so much. Especially when she laughs and says her little quotes. Their personalities are very much alike...... && Please thank abuelita for me on her amazing videos, I am now more willing to learn and cook because of her, she makes it seem so easy.
My grandma was surprised I was cooking more that she asked me were I was learning it from, I showed her your videos and she too teared up and said your grandma reminds her of my abuelita (her mother).
wizluv100 I'm so sorry for your loss. :( Thank you so much for watching us. We are so happy that you are enjoying and willing to cook! Blessings to you and your Abuelita!
wizluv100 Lost my mom 3 days after I was born, and never got to know my abuela. So, this is where I can feel a little 'family' I do so adore 'Abuela" here . She was with me when I made tamales for Christmas, just last year, had this site going in my kitchen with me
Thank you for sharing your delicious recipes, brings back so many memories from my Grandma., miss her cooking so much now I have a chance to cook these delicious recipes. Gramma💕💕
Awsome!!💜 My husband and I nearly cried watching this video! Especially the last part making the papas. Thank you Thank you for sharing the tradition we love to carry on! My husband is from Texas and always wants old style Mexican cooking from scratch😊
Just a suggestion- it's something my wife and I do for any dish where you have to peel the skin. You just coat the outside of the rellano pepper with oil and bake it at 450 degrees fahrenheit for 25-30 min. Take it out and let it cool for 5 min. The peel completely separates from the vegetable on it's own.
That sounds like a really great idea! It really does, but just a note for Authentic mexican chiles reyenos, the way this abuelita does it is the Traditional mexican way to do it. This is how my entire family does it too. Dont loose sight of that my friend.
You are so Blessed to have your Grandmother working beside you. I believe I would LOVE being in the kitchen with her. And making videos, will be her legacy for your children and generations to come. My father owned a flower shop, he taught me how to design flowers, he's passed away now, but how I wish I had something like this to go back and watch him. Many Blessings and Peace to you both. Tell her Thank you for her time, hope to see them all. Lori in Nashville Tn

Thank you so much for all your abuelitas recipes!! Family recipes are very important. I've grown up knowing anytime the cook wears an apron the food is made with love.
I tried to make this once but it took me 3-4 days, so much work! I swore not to make it ever ever again! But after watching your video it made me want to give it another try. We'll see, I'll let you know how it came out.

God Bless you all. I haven’t seen my abuela since I was 6 and now I’m 24 I wish times were easier. But I enjoy these videos bc I married into a Mexican family too and needed help learning how to cook Mexican food! I am definitely looking forward to it & she is so sweet!
I simply adore your grandma and I look forward to her cooking. Can you ask her if she would make a video about her childhood and how she decided to cook, was it from her mother or her own grandmother. She has so much history and I would love to hear her story. I am sure many others would also. We love her in Chicago.
Omg!! I started to watch the arroz con leche video and kept watching .. this is my 6th video. I'm smiling because my parents are from Michoacan and my mom taught me how to cook. My abuelita taught her. I can honestly say every recipe I've watched is almost identical to what my mom has taught me. I abosultley LOVE the videos!!! So easily taught. Thank you for making the videos and helping so many people get a real taste of Mexican food in their own kitchen!! You guys rock. Keep em' coming. God bless.

Most all poblanos I've had were very mild but once in a while, I get one that is REALLY hot. I heard those occasional hot poblanos are called something special and for the life of me, I can't think of that name. Do you know what I'm talking about? I'd love hear from you if you know. Thanks for bringing us your abuelita's recipe. I love how she eats cheese while cooking... :^D
My family is Guatemalan and they fill them with picadillo. My husband has been happy with all the new Abuela's recipes we've been having. We are having the chorizo and potato quesadillas tonight.
I'm so excited to see your video recipe for Chili Rellanos. My sister had her special recipe and she would make us all a platter of them every year for our birthdays. She passed away in 2015. I assisted her once and now everyone is asking me to make them. But, I only really watched - I never took notes. When I watched your video, I remember she cooked them very similar except with a red sauce over the whole dish. Muchos gracias for helping me recreate her recipe!
Whenever I want to make authentic Mexican food. And I don’t know how...I always come to abuelitas page! I love watching her cooking...and hearing her speak. It’s like she sends comfort through the videos! I’m going to make Chile’s rellenos tonight. I’ll be sure to let you know how it comes out. Thank you!

Im making this recipe tonight btw. Thanks again!

Mexican food is the best, but it can be complicated and a lot of work. Your abuelita simplifies this and makes it look easy. Thank you, I am making this tomorrow. Que dios los bendiga.
I love it. I haven been cooking much as my husband of 36 years died. We were together since sixteen. You bring back so many memories and also new ideas. I'm ready for my next life. Thx. Love you all.

Thank you Abuelita for sharing another great traditional Mexican dish. My mom make them the same way Abuelita does. Gracias Abuelita Los chiles Rellenos se ven deliciosos.
Amazing videos fills me with joy to see your sweet little abuela in the kitchen!! (she looks like she could be related to my little abuelita) I've been a subscriber for 2 years and have never commented, but I truly enjoy watching the authentic recipes your abuela has to offer. I sit here with my mother watching them and reminiscing about the way my abuela's would get down in their kitchens. And how our mouths would water or our stomachs growled. We knew #hugefamily (one had 10 boys and 2 girls the other 2 boys 1 girl)"oh my God this is going to be so good!!! we bout to grub"... abuelita made this abuela made that... I wish I would have helped out so I knew the ingredients and the how, what, and why's she would do in the process and the pinches (no measuring) to achieve these great tasting dishes we miss so much. kudos to you and your family for filming your abuela in her kitchen. Helps bring back memories. I'm huge on family history and love hearing the stories that my abuela's would tell me about how and where they grew up how they learned this & that, I would love to hear your abuela's background.

I cooked them Sunday. They came out delicious. Though it took almost 3 hours. How do they do it in such short time at restaurants, I wonder...
Wow! How many did you make? The restaurants probably just reheat them lol
@Charlie Rothwill smh unecessary and so ugly of a comment.

Love your grandma's cooking, can hardly wait to see what's next.
Mexican food is the best, but it can be complicated and a lot of work. Your abuelita simplifies this and makes it look easy. Thank you, I am making this tomorrow. Que dios los bendiga.

I love abuelitas recipes! She is so adorable and authentic and the recipes are amazing! Looking forward to leaning more from you abuelita!!! ❤️
