Dude you are awesome, thanks for this! Please, can you make a tutorial for changing the led light, that would be so helpful for all the beginners like me that don´t know the way in electronics
hey man, do you have a better view of the LED on the top and the LEDs on the bottom ring? i want to know exacly what to get so i can change them, thanks
Here is a link to my reddit post about this project it should help you if you want more info and pictures: www.reddit.com/r/HyperX/comments/erlxwk/quadcast_teardown/
this tutorial is pretty good but a note if you are doing the same thing you need to be so delicate with the insides as they are so fragile also I would recomend removng the top peice before you pull out the clear shell as it can rip the port out of the mute button
Can you do a video on fixing hyperx microphone 😢 Mine stopped working for some damn reason.. i dont have my receipt.. and im pretty sure it's past the 90 day return from best buy.. 😭😭😭
there actually is a way to fix motherboard, but trust me a every day joe wont even go though the struggle you have to sand it down to the copper and add more copper then close the open wire with blue light resin
Hello thank you so much for this video i opened the top of my mic as you have suggested with hot air blower it was easy task but a little of patience. My mic does show on my PC that is connected but my mic never turns on. After dissassembly i found that i have a blown resistor. I would like to see if anyone can measure the ohmage of this transistor so i can replace it.
I got a problem. My HyperX Quadcast just wroking strange... When im muting sound with sensor and turn on it back - the mic isnt work... But it working again after i restart my PC. Any ideas?
Thanks this helped a lot but im just trying to figure out how to not take out all of the pieces so i can paint the whole black base white but still leave in the color of the foam piece inside. I have the new Quadcast S so i can change the led color to what I would like anyways. I dont wanna break any of the pieces because I still want it to look and sound nice! but thank you so much!!!
This video was a great starting point for me. I would disagree with pushing things out through the top. If you pull out from the bottom, you don't have to bend that clip on the side at all. I was able to slowly put pressure on the top cap on one side, sort of as if you were trying to pop a cork from a wine bottle. Once I got some space on one side, I used a guitar pick to make a little space all around the top which broke the glue loose. I then continue the cork-releasing movement to pry the top off, which was pretty quick. Once the top is off and disconnected, everything pulls out through the bottom fairly easily. Be very careful with all of the connectors, they are not very strong. I accidentally ripped my touch sensor one right off the PCD when I tried to pull it off, and the LED ring connector actually had a dab of black glue they added to it which I had to cut first. I also found no good reason to remove the nuts for the USB and headphone jack connector daughter board. I took mine apart because the red LEDs annoy me when it is on. I wish there was a firmware update that let you reverse the on/off LEDs. As far as I can tell, just unplugging the LED ring and leaving the capacitive touch top unplugged has not caused any negative side effects or affected recording quality, other than obviously I can't use the top to quickly mute the mic. I would disassemble in this order. 1. Remove the isolation ring. 2. Remove the isolation brackets 3. Remove the bottom gain dail 4. Remove the mode selection knob 5. Remove the top touch cap. 6. VERY carefully unplug the top touch cap 7. Pull/Push the inner plastic chassis out through the bottom being careful not to rip the pop filter. NOTE: My pop filter materially was slightly glued to the cable going to the top so it started to pull out when I pulled things out through the bottom, I had to help guide it out, or it would have ripped.
This is the way. The strength of the surface mount connectors is not to be overestimated; I ripped three connectors right off the PCB. luckily they were all for LEDs so, the mic works, but to get my LED mod to work I'm going to have to use a microscope (counting my lucky stars I have access to one) to solder in some wires to what's left of the pads, not looking forward to that....
Might consider removing that top part by turning it; you can apply a LOT of turning force on something like that, potentially enough with a set of channel locks and a rag (so you don't wreck the finish) that you can break away from that glue. I'm not sure what glue it is, but if it really is something that gets softer with heat, a heatgun will work a lot better, though you run the risk of deforming the pop filter. Also, aluminum conducts heat quickly, so speed in this regard would be a good idea.
mine stopped connecting all of the sudden. almost right when warranty ended too. it would stop reconnecting upon boot up. when i would reconnect it would fix itself.. eventually after 50 k reconnects to the port with usb it no longer lights up.. :(
Hey man whats the price for the omnidirectional patern called I lost mine and can't seem to find it if u want to sell it to me or help me find a replacement part for it that would be greatly appreciated
Does the Quadcast come with 1 or 2 O rings? The one that links the mic to the stand(it fell on 2:01)? Mine came with one....you mention 2. Thanks for clarifying.

Fun fact, the volume nobs are now glued on and when pulled can sometimes break the plug that connects to the leds and mute button

Do you need to take everything apart if you just seek to cover the LED light with some tape? To remove that annoying light...
can you make a led light change tutorial?
There’s a new model that covers that up, hyperx quadcast s that has RGB lights that you can change

you can perobably just desolder it and solder a new one on (im guessing its to change the colour?)
what's the best way to clean the mic's surface? The top part seems a bit sticky if I damp it with cloth.
This is a good walkthrough but would you be able to post a light change video? I want to change mine to blue lol
At the end, did you do it?
Amazing video bro, WELL DONE!
You don't have to use an Allen wrench to take the screws off, a screwdriver with a star bit works fine
can u do a quadcast s teardown please?
i need an exploded view of it for my school project

Hi! it used to be this video but I have a question that, my microphone is secular but people can't hear me! What could possibly go wrong?
Rip my mic. the glue got weaker and my screwdriver ripped the cables apart from the plastic :D
