That’s a good idea! I ended up doing a portable ac from Serene Life which cost about the same $500 and has worked out really well.

Nice! Wish I had room for that. Looking into an inverter style roof unit. Getting close to 500! Congratulations. Can’t wait to get there!

Thanks for the update. Do you have solar? I’d be very interested to see how much power it draws compared to the regular AC unit. FYI I watched another video where they said the manufacturer told them not to run it on GFCI. So if you have any weird issues with throwing breakers, that could be the reason.

can a mini split be mounted flat as per tall?
if i ever could afford a new rv i would find a way to install a mini split ( 2 units inside the coach).
but if you have ducting in your rv for the ac. there is a way to drop the dbs to almost nothing. but you lose that blast coming out of the grill.

You will have to mount it, up and down. As it needs air flow front and back

Wonder how it would do with solar? Do you know how many watts it pulls per hour?

You know I'm not sure. But off the other videos I've seen with mini splits on rv's, it doesn't use much. There are some people on here who use them with solar.

No clearance issues with it being low?

We've taken this over some big woops and steep driveways with no issues!

Why didn't you get a 2 zone unit?

@@FOSTERingRVLife Fair enough. They are a lot more expensive -- almost double.
      Which does seem excessive.
