I know exactly what you guys are saying. I try to explain this to dudes all the time. People gotta understand that while for example some of the greatest wordsmiths could get on a track and rap for 6 minutes no breaks or hooks etc that is called LYRICAL EXCERCISE. It’s equivalent to a basketball player in training doing shooting drills. They are shooting at high volume, hoping it lands and mastering the percentage of it going in. That’s an important drill but it’s not the only drill you must do to be an all around elite player. So as great as it may be, that’s not SONG STRUCTURING. Though we’ve been taught that just heating words recorded makes it a song. Knowing when to transition, when to switch up how many bars you are using and how to cover more ground in less time is a demonstration of songwritting skills. The greatest hip hop ARTIST understand how to merge lyrical excersise with elite level song making. Biggie would be an example of that. Jay, Andre 3000 just to name a few. Drake is in THAT category as well lol. But people get so caught up in seeing what Kendrick does which is mainly lyrical excersise and his concepts being more potent, where when Ryan says “ he’s just too good at this” they aren’t seeing drake demonstrates elite songmaking iq. He can get denser at will IF he chose to. That’s the difference lol. He can choose how dense he wants to be, while still giving you masterful songwriting regardless. But of course this would be controversial to some because they don’t get it 🤷🏾♂️😂

Don't forget drake has been the most streamed rapper on Spotify all year. I think he's also the most streamed rapper generally in all platforms.
I just want you guys to know how much I respect y’all for keeping it real all of these years. I subscribed in 2018, but during the Drake/Kendrick beef, I was concerned y’all would fall in line with the intense pressure from Kendrick stans online to praise everything he does. But seeing you be truthful about how Meet The Grahams was poorly written confirmed that y’all will never lie for the sake of clout even in the face of so many people threatening your channel. Shit is so admirable for real. As for this song, I’m not a big Drake fan so I thought it was okay. But I understand the talking points you made here; Drake has mastered the structure of a good song.
This is the first time since Meet the Grahams was released I heard that it was poorly written, from both sides of the beef. This reaction channel made clear their dislike of was due to its artists' direction lyrically and sonically, not its writing. In fact, the critique of this channel was due to it's inability to detect writing cues that essentially make a distrack disrespectful. Ironically, the same writing cues that Drake is citing in contempt with the artists in the beef. This is an interesting opinion... Why do you think it was poorly written?
@@lungilemake8424 With all due respect, I think the assessment they gave with MtG was about how direct and uncreative it was lyrically. To me personally, it came off as if Kendrick is just directly making these psychoanalytical points about Drake without any craft in how it’s written. Contrast that to Pusha T being just as personal, but having good metaphors and wordplay at the same time. For me, the best part of that track is the last verse where you can feel his energy increasing. But most of it is pretty stale to me. Personally, I believe the reason a lot of people like it is because it is objectively an attack on Drake as being a horrible human being. And that is music to people’s ears. The core subject matter alone is enough to make it a classic rather than analyzing the writing behind the core subject matter.
@TheCommenter99 This was a pretty decent critique and a refreshing testimony. From what I gather, you agree with their critique, that's fair, we don't have the same taste. I can totally understand how the song threw y'all off. For me, it was effective in terms of the vocal range the song went through while rhyming to a somber string with a vocal tone that gives contrasts towards the end of the song. I found it to be a perfect artistic choice and lyrical delivery to play off the high tempo Family Matters even as far as the conceptual tie between the two. It's a one of a kind record for me, and I was pleased to see it resonate with people the way it did as an artistic piece, though it's not the most replayed, I'm sure it's indelible. I appreciate your views through. You seem to have good subjective taste.
@@lungilemake8424I agree…Kendrick doesn’t have one diss song or album that sounded the same.
His creativity, lyrical prowess and strategy showed me how light years ahead of Drake Kendrick is in his Artistry. Drake raps about drugs, sleeping with women, materialistic items…Nothing with substance and he’s damn near 40.
Drake been dropping some heat but even the dry bars drake say Ryan be glazing it’s crazy 😂
If we had a podcast?? Y’all should make one id definitely listen
The eight minute voice note that Drake is referring to is called euphoria
He sayin its like his sleepin patter, how he still up? Like its 2-4 AM in the morning and he still up. He's a night owl. He's tying in him being up late into the morning into him being up in the rap game
This might be in my top 3 Drake tracks… solid AF
This the best song on the whole drop
these dudes the biggest drake meat riders they don’t even try to hide it
I agree I cringe when I see their thumbnail I literally clicked to temperature check the comments and as suspected, they’re filled with delusional Drake fans😂

Love ya’ll’s channel because you learn aspects of what makes music likable in a general sense 👍🏻
Y’all really have to dissect “Blue Green Red” one of the tracks drakes dropped on the 1st 100 gigs …
Fr bro. That’s my favorite track out of the 6 and Drake was sending subliminals in a clever way…”how many summers did I run? Like 10?”
Just found out dj mustard record label is called 10 Summers 😂🔥🔥🔥
I hear you bro!!! 😂 but he also said “Please write my father and tell him
I found some fortune and fame
They're gonna try and behead me
And speak on the family name
He said my knife's in my pocket
I'm in the center of town
I tapped the side of his pocket
He wasn't joking around, around” I feel like he’s definitely referring this to meet the graham’s! lol shit crazy!
@@eddieramos1779yup I absolutely agree and also the “4 gunshot mi not dead”
He talkin bout “Euphoria, 6:16 in LA, Meet The Grahams, Not Like Us”
That was the best description of this song, great job
love the break down of the lil things about the song structure
Circadian rhythm is the 24-hour internal clock in our brain that regulates cycles of alertness and sleepiness by responding to light changes in our environment. Our physiology and behavior are shaped by the Earth's rotation around its axis.
Drake‘s song just too clean, it got that Minimalism about his song, make you feel good and
clean about yourself.
Love how you guys stay on topic. You don’t give too many opinions on things you don’t know. But rather you stay on topic of the song. Love that.
People can try and bash him, but Drake is one of the hardest working music artists.
Sure, that can be detrimental to the quality, but Drake can't be denied as a hustler.
He has both
You mean his ghost writers work hard, right?
@@Triple500X well then it would still mean he works hard, cuz he's a ghostwriter himself smooth brain 😂
Lost in drake
15:53 they say the same thing about Nicki. You hit the nail on the head there. They take for granted how good these artist are because they make it look so easy .
Drake really the goat
