1 Cor. 15:1-4 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures Ephesians. 1:13 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
I think the biggest issue is this truly distracts from what Jesus was actually talking about with every day life under occupation of the Roman Empire during Emperor Tiberius rule. Tiberius worshipped pagan gods and viewed himself as a living god, which gave a green light of persecution of other religions. There was also all forms of abuse towards non-Roman citizens that started to influence how Jews treated each other and Gentiles. What made Jesus so renown was that he went against that abuse and truly taught treating your neighbors with love and kindness but also making amends with your enemies by breaking bread with them, share a table with them, etc. That is the true purpose of Jesus’s teachings, to live how he lived. You don’t need to bring vintage or exotic cars on stage to teach that. You don’t need a $30 million dollar building to preach when Jesus preached in living rooms.
When men are listening to the message and giving there lives to CHRIST, That is all that matters the spirit of the lord can move through any message to the right people GOD is always in control of every message every situation every day written in his book before one of them had ever begin.
