    I loved this so much, amazing video. This is the kind of thing I love, exploring weird little places like this. That is such a cool cave, I'd love to know how it formed like that.

    You need to contact the caving clubs local to that area. A cave that obvious will certainly have been pushed, mapped, and published already. Not to mention named. And guano floors don't hold foot prints for long. Your prints will disappear too in a couple of years.

      We were unable to find any beta on this cave over the last 3 years. It's accessed from a fairly remote location and there was absolutely no evidence on the wall that it had been climbed... Who knows, but I'm pretty confident the first ever human footprints in that cave were ours.

      how can you think your the first ? modern human walked the earth for the last 200 000 years and you think nobodys ever get in that cave that everybody can see from the trail ?

      @4kays160 Рік тому

      @@sekelusbecause he has an american education, and does not realise erosion over the years has made it seem hard to get too, you can look at it and see people walked straight in 10,000 to 20,000 yrs ago.. 😂

    You remind me of Nikolaj Coster from Game of Thrones. Bravo for following your adventurous spirit and for sharing with us. It does seem like you were the first humans there!

    That approach reminds me of the time 3 of us did Lineham Lakes in Waterton via the cliff route. That entails an easy hike up to the cliff face and then going up a scree slope to the right until you find a ledge to go across 300' of cliff face to the left. There's 290' of ledge and two spots with no ledge and a couple of hand holds and a foothold. Once across you are now 300' up on the face of the cliff. We were roped and anchered up but a lot of rotten rock. That was 20 years ago when I didn;t loose my breath on a hike. I don't recommend it if you are a little jittery.

    How convenient having something strong to tie your rope to.
    Or are they man made anchor points ?
    And is Chris that man ?
    In that case I would like to have seen a demonstration of how he made it.

    Was there anymore to the cave? Was there any chance that it went further through a lower/higher passage?

    • @UtmostOutdoors
      @UtmostOutdoors  Рік тому +2

      There was a lot of loose rock going up the one chimney that I was worried I could disturb and cause the fallen rock to block our exit, and maybe one tiny passage I climbed over may have gone deeper, but nothing echoed as if it was a huge area just on the other side.

    How can you claim to be the first humans in that cave? Seems a bit ridiculous to claim that.

      My thoughts are that the climbing community has only been working on walls like this since the late 50's around the time people stopped using hemp ropes. It's not a popular area for people. There's no real value inside the caves in this area other than adventure. No signs of old bolts on the wall, and no beta about this cave anywhere I we could find. It's actually not that far fetched when you think about it... There wasn't a single climbing route we could see established on this wall that left bolts as far as we could see. It's crappy loose rock and there's better places for the sport closer to civilisation. I just can't see any reason to believe any other human in modern history has entered this cave, and based on my understanding of ancient history, the same thought process holds true.

    People in 3rd world countries climb cliffs higher than this with no rope to get honey from a beehive, and you think no one in history climbed there for instant shelter that cant be raided or pillaged or have a bear eat you while you sleep? 😂
