Anandabhairavi was a learning every music student should know. Similarly Bhoopalam, if we know the meaning it's so beautiful to present. Thanks for such an invaluable musical lesson this morning.

Insightful LecDem... and extremely difficult songs to learn, understand and render... kudos to everyone for presenting this. And as pointed out by Dr. Rama Kausalya ma'am, it was like visiting the temple by itself. Every time we hear these kritis, we learn something about the temple, about it's festivals, about Dikshitar. A very emotional Shriram (no wonder) when he presented the Ananda Bhairavi kriti... :) ... would request him to to present a separate LecDem on this alone, dissecting the meaning of this kriti. Thank you to everyone for organizing this.

Wonderful presentation by Sri Sriramkumar. The Lecdem gave a deep insight into the glorious kritis and their import. These kritis show the talent of Sri Deekshitar in using music for Bhakti. I am blessed to have been born in Tiruvarur and have had a glimpse of the puranic stories referred in some of these kritis during my teens in 1960s. I enjoyed the program right through and my thanks to the artists and the organisers.

On 'Aanandeswaram' composition advice of Sri T.L.V.Iyer not to present in sabha concerts was based on his exalted sacred moments experiences of sahithya bhava-Advaita-Absolutism, with no second divinity -super monism in Brahman in internalizing this composition in his pooja at his residence. He knew the trend of Thyagarajization of Muthuswamy Dikshita compositions with sangatis in concerts and desired to secure this composition by denial advice to his disciples, DKP amma in particular, as she was one of the most sought after Vidushis of contemporary times. No restriction to perform in temple and sacred Shankara matams.
Visited Thiruvarur temple manasikamaga. Beautiful presentation sir and brought a insight of how dikshitar handled the ragas,swaras in each composition. Thank you very much
Feel like revisiting Tiruvaroor after acquiring this knowledge. In the usage of g and d in Bhoopalam, the influence of Hindustani Sangeet on Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar can be felt here. A very enriching presentation
If the audience understand Tamil, it will be better that ShriRamkumar anna can use Tamil for Lec Dem. We will be more comfortable to hear & understand in our language.
