Larry Funk If a church can't trust for the word of God, the living breathing word of God for that matter to connect with the music that was made to exalt the Holy God in the highest, instead use a secular song that has no glorifying of the one true God whatsoever, this tells me that theology is man-centered. For, even if a song has a motivational, emotional, psychological, pseudo-spiritual formula that "ties in", it still does not compare from letting authentic worship or the true Gospel from scripture speak for itself. Secular songs were made to glorify man period. Not to perform them on the Holy ground altar of God. True followers of Christ were made to be set apart from this world. This songs were made for the world and there earthly sinful desires not for a Holy and just God. Why!!!??? It's like the lead worship singer (who is really good by the way) pursued a music career at one point and can't get it out of his redeemed soul that he is saved from all that. I dont care what people say about being condemning. The world does not need more of the world going into a church service. Be ye separate we are told, come ye out of them, scripture says.
