@@Kaishen021 think it might just be his copy because I’ve transformed mine a couple of times and the shoulders have yet to pop off. I have had the chest pop off once but that was definitely my fault
TBF, Balt has a history of handling figs too roughly. It wouldn't constantly fall to pieces like that if he didn't yank on the bloody thing like he's trying to open a packet of crisps.
This is the reason why I just can't hate the SS one. It is severely lacking on the finish, but they really pushed the budget to it's limit with it, specially being a big deluxe with a lot of articulation
Great review!! I found this guy at Target yesterday and bought him on a whim. Shockingly, I really like it! I didn't realise there was also a studio series version until watchinmg youtube today. I might get that too, but the colours on this one are much nicer IMO. On my copy, the only things which so far popped off when transforming were the smolestack - which I didn't realise were supposed to also be guns until I saw your review! Anyway, this is a teeny tiny fun little toy. I like it!
I'm glad i don't have regrets of buying the Studio series version from amazon. Cause for this mainline version, it's not much fun if the parts pop off.
Kind of surprised at the overall verdict here - this is like 11 minutes of “this feels cheap, small, and it’s constantly falling apart whenever I move anything. Conclusion: this is great!”
I'm not buying either, but this definitely looks better than the Studio Series version. It's unfortunate everything seems to Pop off excessively easily. Plus the lack of any ankle tilts is disappointing.
I definitely prefer the colors on this figure, they are way more vibrant and pop more, the SS seems dull, I don't like the plastic colors on the crotch and upper legs on the SS
Yeah, i regret picking this figure up. Everything pops off this guy constantly, the smokestack "guns" are laughable and while i appreciate the paint apps, it doesn't feel worth the $20 i spent. Sidenote: What is with his hand "holding" the axe like that, it just looks dumb.
I can't get the arms to peg into the back in Truck mode...what am I doing wrong? (Update) the Waist wasn't pegged in all the way. Now he transforms fine legs are abit finnicky though
He definitely looks better than the SS figure, but I’m skipping everything in this line. After seeing you and Emgo’s reviews of the SS, I canceled right away.
If I gave a kid a figure that fell apart they would be angry…this is just a cheaper adult toy and I don’t think the deluxe movie line is ever worth making.

Amazon doesn’t use a person to set their prices and instead have an AI do that and it analyses products and how popular their are, how many they have and other factors that artificially jack up the price to more then what the product is worth. So I recommend waiting a little and then check on it when the prices have calmed down.
Studio series isn't toys, they are adult collectibles aimed at an older crowd looking for screen accuracy and a more complicated product. Your comparing matchboxs to corgi cars...

Great looking Optimus regardless of his height/size, I'm just worry about those joints are going break the more we play around with the transformation.
Whats your definition of garbage exactly? Especially with this it's much cheaper than normal deluxes so the budget isn't as high. Yes this isn't great, but given the price and budget it's pretty decent in my opinion.

Shame about the stuff just popping off the joints - thing looks much nicer than the studio series IMO, I don't even mind the smaller size.

this happens with older figures due to time. I wonder if applying floor polish will help?

6:04: Peekaboo 😂
Best mold, now to wait for a big KO that fixes the hands, ankle pivot and maybe give access to the matrix through the chest
The colors on the Prime Changer figure are more vibrant, although the size is a compliant, as anyone most goes for the Studio Series
At least It as no diaper Like the studio series wick makes legs articulation way Better.
Do you mean diaper? On the ss one, you can move that piece to accommodate the articulation.

I feel like this figure is Orion and the SS is Optimus. Hopefully like you said, they make a upgrade kit for him that gives him a new head and chest
His articulation scheme reminds me of the old Classics Deluxe Optimus, just minus the funny spinning gimmick

I'd totally get an OS KO version of it.

I think we should wait for a upscaled KO of this figure because it should not be that small
So the articulations are back to combiner wars era, nice lol

Why is he so expensive?!? I can’t see paying 45 dollars for what is a voyager or a earthspark type figure.
No feet Articulation. Automatic NO for me

Interesting to call him Optimus Prime and then also label the figure that the hands came from.

we need a upscale of this that actually makes the feet articulated
